Which came first the egg or the chicken? More importantly the egg mcmuffin or the chicken nugget?

The egg came first, because chickens aren't the first creatures to lay eggs, and there were creatures that existed before chickens that could lay eggs. So although the eggs I'm talking about aren't chicken eggs, they existed long before chickens.

Whether or not they evolved from them is irrelevent. The fact is is that they were something totally different from the actual chickens so that argument is void. They weren't chickens and they layed eggs. Also you have to consider the ones that the chickens didn't evolve from.
