The real question in this is "what is a chicken"? :D
Cause a chicken egg to be a chicken egg needs a chicken to lay it.
So probably the first "chicken" egg was laid by a bird that was not a chicken and then evolved to become what we say is a "chicken". :p
Two birds of a different species mated, and the female of that species laid an egg. It's a combination of the dna of two different species.

Neither came first, because they were created in the same time :p
When that egg was first laid, both chicken and the chicken eggs started existing ^^

Ya but if you read the first post it says just "egg" not "chicken egg". But yes that is a valid argument.

they mean chicken egg, cuz if it was just egg, of course the egg. Dinosaurs laid eggs too, but there were no birds at that time. If we speak about a chicken egg i would say Rei's argument is very good, but i won't agree that they started to exist at the same time.(and also It's not that easy for two different spiecies to mate, except if they are very very close.) So... if we talk about a chicken egg, we need a chicked to lay that egg, on order to be called "chicken egg", so that means the chicken should be first... 0_0 this is confusing...

Well a chicken egg, is an egg with a chicken in it. So the first chicken came from an egg, so it would still end up being the egg.

chicken egg is a egg laid by a chicken. Before evolving into chicken it was another species, so it was called "something else egg".
