But if you can figure out the jutsu then the user is in trouble. As long as you keep attacking Tobi there is no way he can escape, whether it be long range or short range jutsu. Remember you need to be tangible to warp yourself and that is a gigantic advantage. A fast ninja is Tobi's worst opponent in terms of using his S/T jutsu. He's better of staying intangible than trying to warp (although he can only maintain that for 5 mins I think).

Even though Minato is intangible he can teleport at anytime. If you plant hundreds of paper bombs on Minato's body he can FTG out of it and escape to another location. If you do that to Tobi then all he can do is become intagible and let the bombs phase through him because if he tries to warp he will get himself blow up. That's why I believe Tobi's S/T jutsu has more drawbacks. Also Minato's jutsu is faster because it is instant, Tobi's jutsu takes time to warp his body.

However it is still the better jutsu due to the fact that Tobi can go anywhere as well as make his body Intangible, meaning he can escape through walls and into the ground etc.

The only weakness is the 5 min limit, which only one person after years of following/studying managed to figure out. It can only be countered by a continuous attack which lasts 5 minutes.

Despite the fact Tobi could just warp in there and kidnap the user?

The technique is both offensive and defensive, tricky and practical in battle.

Pretty sure Naruto's bijuu Dama would blast a hole right through it.

P.S. I never said Hashirama broke through, just that he defeated the 'Ultimate defense'.
I'd love to see Tobi warp up to Madara and grab him, and warp him away. Assuming Madara has all the powers of the rinnegan, shinra tensei can foil Tobi's jutsu the same way ftg did. The instant Tobi materialized to suck in Madara, he would be blasted by shinra tensei...

I know this isn't certain, as we've yet to see Madara use shinra tensei, but I really don't think Tobi could do anything against Madara. Even his s/t won't save him.

That's why Minato did not use FTG and did not hit Tobi with a Rasengan.

What does this prove? Kakashi and Guy are not fast enough to counter it. U_U

+rep. I agree it can be countered with speed. People like Naruto and minato can hit him. But @OP I agree its one of the greatest techniques ever and its useful as long as the opponent is not very fast.

Tobi can warp out of there too.
He didn't because he underestimated Konan...

So you're saying Minato didn't figure out another weakness for it.

If you're fast enough, the instant Tobi strikes is when you can hit him.

Also the fact that you have to make yourself tangible to warp is a weakness in itself.

Are you even reading what I am saying because all your responses just seem bias to me, you keep avoiding any counter points I make. You just state positive points without looking at the weak points of the jutsu.

Bold- true
underline- Minato also has to be tangible to teleport. (not that he can become intangible)

It's all about the user. Clearly, Minato is more skilled than Tobi (with S/T jutsu), but that doesn't make the jutsu itself stronger.

It's all about the user. Clearly, Minato is more skilled than Tobi (with S/T jutsu), but that doesn't make the jutsu itself stronger.

But don't forget that Minato's teleporting is instant (literally in the blink of an eye).

Tobi's version however takes longer, remember what Konan said. She said that while he is warping his body needs to solidify and also that it takes longer to warp himself that other people/objects. This is the point I'm trying to get across, it has nothing to do with the skill of the user. Its about the the jutsu, Tobi's S/T and FTG are completely different.

So in case you don't understand let me put it this way, if Minato was fighting Konan and she amassed 600 billion paper bombs, Minato will easily teleport away. His teleporting is instant which means the bombs wont follow him where he goes, the bombs will just get left behind. But in Tobi's case he has to warp which takes about 3-5 secvonds for him to do and if he does that he will suck the paper bombs in with him and die. Plus his body is solid while warping so the paper bombs will go with him.

I hope you understand what I am trying to say, I dunno if I explained it clearly.

You are right. No other jutsu we have seen in the manga is as versatile as Tobi's S/T ninjutsu.

You are overrating this techique way toooo much.

1.He can only warp things near to him, like really near.

2.High speed can't counter S/T . Maybe intangibility but there is no proof just assumption.

Intangibility and S/T are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

His intangibility is like hologram, you can see but can't touch it.
His S/T can teleport him and anyone else anywhere, even into his own dimension.

Can't he teleport much faster than that?

Hmmm, i'd say it just about makes the best S/T tech, FTG is faster but it doesn't make Minato untouchable. Tobi's S/T tech does. If he just holds that move and doesnt attack the opponent can do anything

Did you watch Konan vs Tobi, doing that almost got him killed. He can't hold that move.

watch from 0:17 to 1:24. Konan literally explains everything.

That video made me realize something.
Konan was controlling the paper bombs, making them attach to tobi.
If not, he would have teleported. Couldn't she have done that to Minato too?
Although, Tobi's reaction time is slower, i agree.

Konan could have tried but if Minato started to teleport at the exact same moment Tobi tried to he would have gotten away. There is no way Konan would have been able to attach the bombs to Minato faster than he can teleport.

However if Konan did some how manage to attach the bombs to Minato then I'm not sure what would have happened. It's not clear whether Minato would teleport with the bombs still on him or if wehn he teleports the bombs stay in the same place. Not really sure to be honest, but my point is if Minato teleported at the time Tobi did, because his S/T is instant then he would've gotten away.

I've come to the conclusion that how effective FTG and Tobi's S/T are depends on the situation.
Where could minato possibly have teleported to, if he hadn't been at that area before? He would be in an even worse position than Tobi.

That said, it depends.

Indeed. With that jutsu alone, you could possibly fight top tiers. Give it tools like the EMS or Rinnegan and you're invincible.

For example, Tobi has shown that he can make things he touches intangible. Imagine Gedo Mazo fighting and Tobi making Gedo Mazo intangible when an incoming jutsu is on its way.
Speaking of intangibility, it would also completely eliminate strategies to hit the user within jutsu like Susnaoo.

Though one of the greatest jutsu, it seems to only be really great when combined with other jutsu. For example Tobi has shown he can use other jutsu while being intangible - the Outer Path chains - so that can easily compensate for Shinra Tensei's 5 second window. That makes Tobi almost unbeatable.

Defensively he can avoid any and all attacks or just warp away. I repeat:

Defensively he can avoid any and all attacks or just warp away.

Offensively he can teleport others and trap them permanently. Any opponent can be taken in this way. It is basically a sealing technique, because as of yet, there is NO way to escape his dimension.

He can locate anyone anywhere (like we saw vs Minato), he can travel anywhere instantly and can hold victims in his dimension for future use. For example Torune.

The only weakness is the 5 min limit, which only one person after years of following/studying managed to figure out. It can only be countered by a continuous attack which lasts 5 minutes.

No other single technique is this versatile.

Minato plus rasengan disagrees...

Siriously I prefer FTG. Just because its damn faster. Tobis teleportation is not made to do it during closecombat. Its more a travelingtechnique.

The intagibilitything is the more efficient variant of this jutsu. Its weakness are attcks. so tobi is strong at avoiding blows, but weak at dealing them. Nearly any opponent figured that out really fast and tobi wouldve been dead a long time if he were a human (Minatos rasengan should have killed or at least crippled him/ and fo and torune also made him sacrifice his arm)

In my opinion its the second best technique, because i dont know where tobis sensorabilties come from. Its not shure if theyre part of this jutsu, or anonther skill of tobi.

He would've just gone back home lol. He did have seals in Konoha remember.
