Defensively he can avoid any and all attacks or just warp away. I repeat:

Defensively he can avoid any and all attacks or just warp away.

Offensively he can teleport others and trap them permanently. Any opponent can be taken in this way. It is basically a sealing technique, because as of yet, there is NO way to escape his dimension.

He can locate anyone anywhere (like we saw vs Minato), he can travel anywhere instantly and can hold victims in his dimension for future use. For example Torune.

Tobi has shown to be able to turn things he touches intangible also. So he could make Gedo Mazo intangible if he wanted.

The only weakness is the 5 min limit, which only one person after years of following/studying managed to figure out. It can only be countered by a continuous attack which lasts 5 minutes.

No other single technique is this versatile.

Maybe not greatest, but it is up there.
Only an S/T jutsu, a lot of spamming or extreme speed can defeat it.
It's also convenient and effective.

It's been shown speed > S/T techs, and who else to beat Tobi then the Yellow Flash's son? I'd say FTG is better than S/T.

It's a very, very impressive jutsu, but I'm not sure it's the best. I'd say that FTG, 3rd Raikage's finger technique and Muu and Oonoki's particle style are all on that same level.

If you haven't noticed, FTG and Rasengan are 2 techniques. No one single technique is as good as Tobi's.

I'm sure if Minato threw a kunai at the back of Tobi's head it would've sufficed xd

That's why Minato did not use FTG and did not hit Tobi with a Rasengan.

What does this prove? Kakashi and Guy are not fast enough to counter it. U_U
It can not be countered with only speed, as far as i know.
Minato had to use his intelligence and speed to trick tobi.
That one move from Naruto was, again, plot for dramatic effect.

FTG needs seals. Tobi's does not. Did Minato not also say that Tobi's S/T ninjutsu surpassed both his and Tobirama's?

But plot is everything. Which means that Naruto countered it with speed. U_U
