I agree that Itachi was not trying to kill sasuke. But my point is that even though Itachi thought he knew all of sasuke moves and had plans for them, sasuke managed to surprise and almost kill him with Kirin

I don't know, i've seen alot of people say Itachi could beat Sasuke, but really?

1. Tsukuyomi is useless and easily countered by Sasuke's Mangekyou.
2. Sasuke has EMS and can outlast Itachi in a Susanoo duel, quite comfortably actually, because Susanoo takes a huge toll on Itachi.
3. Sasuke is more versatile.
4. Sasuke is much better at Enton than Itachi and can easily get rid of Itachi's amaterasu. Itachi strains whenever he moves a little bit, which is bad because Sasuke can easily spam amaterasu.
5. They are both smart, Itachi will not make Sasuke look like an idiot.

I really do think Sasuke > Itachi. What about you guys?

While Sasuke said he could not keep up Susanoo due to Kabutos technique, Itachi managed to do it in order to protect Sasuke, though Kabutos technique affected him as well. And when Kabuto used his Muki Tensei, Itachi was the one who used his Susanoo in time in order to protect Sasuke. This fight shows again that Itachi is still superior to Sasuke. The Mangekyou Sharingan is just a tool used by a Shinobi; and having a higher stamina doesn't mean you can relate a better usage of it.

Actually, Sasuke was worried about Itachi. And didn't he save him when Kabuto approached them by using the amaterasu? And didn't Itachi 'die' twice in the fight, with only edo saving him?

What is the reason then?
Itachi is smarter, more skilled, faster, has a better usage of weapons and a better Taijutsu. Sasukes Genjutsus and Amaterasu won't work against Itachi as well and if we compare their Susanoo, Itachis has two unique weapons.

smarter doesn't mean better naruto beat kakuzu who is 100 years older than him and more skill and smarter.

It will be a Susanoo battle and it depends if Itachi's Totsuka Blade can pierce the armor of Sasuke's Susanoo.That will be the only reason for Itachi to win this.Otherwise EMS Sasuke > Itachi

actually he was killed by kabuto but being an edo he didnt care and really sasuke was more focused on itachi than kabuto......also ems sasuke would easily out last itachi in a fight in that itachi can't sustain his sussano as long as sasuke can and sasuke has better control of amaterasu and could break out of itachi tyukiomi(spelled wrong) without a ms let alone and ems
