I fail to release how Ronaldo is even close to this? He stood a better chance last year, face the the facts he got eclipsed this year and out classed by Messi. He does have a chance if he wins, or maybe reaches final, but even than, so does Iniesta, Xavi, and Gomez. He scored two goals VS a Netherlands team that was already in bad shape and even got beaten by Denmark doesn't mean Ballon D'or is his.
This season as a CM Xavi scored 14 goals with 16 assist, its unbelievable for a CM to perform this. Well not much should be said about Messi better individual performance, better team player, and better club success. In the last two years, Madrid have only beaten us twice and that is once every year.
Even if Ronaldo wins, or reaches the final as well as everyone else I wouldn't be surprised if Messi still beats them to Ballon breaking many record this year including scoring the most goals in a season (record 67, Messi 73, which is a 6 goal difference), and the past 4 years Messi has showed consistency, which counts as a whole lot. In the past few fixtures with Argentina he's been performing good too.
