He may, but by strongest i am not sure he meant he could just beat the others.. I mean he has no counter to minato's moves really. I think he may just be a better ninja all together. Like Gai beat KIsame but Kisame is a much better shinobi all together. Ya see?

Killer bee countered his ftg attack by simply predicting where he was going to teleport.. and killer bee isn't even a genius....

There are many ways to counter ftg my friend...

No sir that Gai and Kisame is just a bad matchup. I'm sure most people will agree Kisame is stronger than Gai.

Kisame uses one particular fighting style that doesn't allow him to counter Gai's.

Hiruzen being a master of thousands of jutsu's and styles leaves him very verastile. I'm sure he could adapt to most situations.

Minato's speed + FTG makes him a difficult opponent indeed, but for someone who never reached his prime Hiruzen would take this. He has the experience and the knowledge to beat Minato IMO.

He wasn't attacking bee.. That was also a moment after dodging raikage. I mean 2 v 1 i would hope someone would be able to observe and counter. I am going from the feats i have seen of the two. Either was this is a whole new debate i was just making a point of strongest doesn't positively mean he can beat them in a 1v1 fight or at least i think he is just a more well rounded shinobi, no reason to argue the examples i thought of in 5 seconds..

Well, the line from the manga could just be Oro talking smack, but you're probably right. Hiruzen was very old then and not in his prime. He didn't age well like Oonaki.

The Databook states that Prime Hiruzen is the strongest Hokage of all time. Saying otherwise is just plain stupidity. And as EliteKakashi said... why did Orochimaru wait until Hiruzen got old?

U_U Orochimaru (+ Edo Hashirama +Edo Tobirama) was defeated by Old Hiruzen. Stop saying that Hiruzen is weak, that's just disgraceful.

It would be pretty easy to turn right around and claim Oro was a ***** for waiting till Hiruzen was 69/70 years old to kill him. What does that tell you?

You can look at the fight 400 different ways. It's pretty stupid to act like your opinion is fact. Oro tried to play around with an old man, that old man bitch slapped him by taking his 2 beloved summons and arms away from him. Yeah it killed him in the process, but Hiruzen was probably on death's door as it was, as he had really nothing left to live for, other than waiting for someone to come along to take his spot as hokage.

well idk Hiruzen is considered the strongest yet Oonoki who is roughly the same age, seems to be doing alright with a Madara who is much more advanced than orochimaru was. Yeah he took the summons, but he didn't take Orochimaru and then he didnt even permanently take away his hands so....what does that tell you?

He was just pointing out one of the more obvious ways to counter FTG. It's not invincible as he said.

That would be a great match. Onoki's Dust Release is not something to take lightly. Madara is just the perfect counter with his Rinnegan.

Bee never countered FTG. Minato had to retreat from that battle. If he had continued with that fight, the whole thing could have caused a greater problem. Minato had the chance and skill to kill Raikage V2 and Bee.

Don't underestimate Hiruzen or Minato.

I really wish people would look for the central point of an argument rather than poking at half thought out examples Dx my point in all of this is that Hiruzen was indeed the strongest. But to me strongest means he was the most well rounded of them all

I'm sorry I like the 3rd Hokage and love Emma, i really think he's is completely BADASSSSSSSSSSSS. However, the hype surrounding the 3rd himself is a bit ridiculous IMO and wish we were really able to see some kinda flashback.

WHile in prime combined w/ Emma he is possibly>=2nd Hokage (from feats), =< 1st Hokage

onoki at like, 80 years old is currently saving kages in their prime (mei and A). so take your old age and shove it

this states in black and white that oro and hokages were in fact toying since they wanted to see what hiruzen was capable of. and during most of the fight oro was standing around mocking hiruzen instead of getting himself involved. probably because he felt hashirama alone would be enough. tobirama only did one offensive jutsu then spent the rest of the match using just taijutsu. would oro who is intending to kill hiruzen as fast as possible really make the hokages only use taijutsu when hiruzens permanently trapped in darkness? would he really only use 2 or 3 jutsus of his own (hidden snake hands, edo tensei, longsword of the sky) if he really wanted to finish it as soon as possible? he didnt even cancel edo tensei to save his summons meaning he thought he could handle it without them. would the legendaru senju hashirama whos cells oro has studied really only use one mokuton ninjutsu, and not his other abilities? hiruzen appealed to his interest in seeing a jutus he hadnt before, and thats it. if he wanted he could have ended it then and there and hiruzen cant do anything about it
