Yes don't also forget that the only reason why Madara was the only Uchiwa who could even compete with Hashirama, it was because at his time, he was the only one who had MS besides from his brother. Now there are many more Ms users since back then(Shisui, Itachi, Sasuke, and even non-Uchiwas like Kakashi). There are much more genius.

but not as sinister as uchihas`

where is this established? its quite clear EMS madara was surpassed by current Sasuke feats wise and possibly healthy MS itachi. itachis not a normal genjutsu user. he can trap hashirama with a finger.

You are also assuming that madara cannot use genjutsu. It is a big ASSUMPTION
