sasuke is not even a prodigy bcoz everything he has accomplished has been done by sum1 elses help like at the start by the curse mark that orochimaru gave him and then the MS power and Amaterasu that Itachi gave him and nw Itachi's eyes.............

yeah you would have to be a newborn autistic turtle to not realize that Orochimaru is the absolute definition of the word prodigy. and shikamaru's great, but not a prodigy. IQ is entirely different than Neji's nack for combat.

How is Orochimaru a prodigy? We never saw him as a kid so anything you say is just ludicrous.
I'm not debating that he is skilled for someone who doesn't have a KG, but he is by no means the definition of a prodigy. He admitted that he, as a kid, couldn't even compare to Sasuke as a kid.
And Sasuke as a kid couldn't even hope to compete with Itachi as a kid.
The few people that I would label as real prodigies are, Neji, Minato, Itachi, Sasuke, and Naruto.
You might wonder why I say Naruto, well Naruto learned the rasengan faster than anyone else ever had, and he did it without the use of the kyuubi chakra or the training clones.
He also learned the kage bunshin (another A-rank jutsu) by himself in one night and mastered it as well.
Add to that his ability to summon Gamabunta, then you have a pretty skilled kid. Not to mention the fact that when he was in his normal state most of his normal chakra went into suppressing the 9-tails and he had terrible chakra control for a long time (because Oro put that seal on him and Kakashi is a douche and didn't care about Naruto)

I'd switch Sasuke and Kakashi. Kakashi graduated at 5, chunin at 6, Jounin at 13. Silly. In fact move Kakashi up under Itachi. Move Itachi up past Minato. Nagato and Kabuto really weren't prodigies.

Naruto was what you call a closet prodigy, he has maximum potential but is too busy being a hard headed prankster to realize it.
Madara was a prodigy, self explanatory....
Hashirama was a prodigy, self explanatory....
Hiruzen was a prodigy, self explanatory....
Orochimaru was indeed a prodigy, for all you who keep saying he wasn't should stop being a troll. The anime and manga showed Team Hiruzen as kids, Hiruzen himself even called Orochimaru his prized pupil, and a prodigy. Orochimaru was even up next to be Hokage at one point but he got obsessed with knowledge and only focused on his experiments. Which lead to Hiruzen picking Minato as his successor.
Minato was a prodigy, self explanatory....
Kakashi was a prodigy, self explanatory....
Neji was a prodigy, self explanatory....
Itachi was a prodigy, again self explanatory....
Shikamaru was also a prodigy, not just because of his IQ, but battle wise as well. He has the mindset of a Tactical Strategist, which he's had since he was an academy student. He thinks the whole battle out before advancing. He's not the fastest nor the strongest but most definitely one of the smartest. He can beat most shinobi with his critical thinking and traps. If thats not a prodigy then what is?
Gaara was not a prodigy, he was just a powerful crazy kid that just brawled and let Shukaku fight his battles or at least help
Sasuke, I hate to say it, was indeed a prodigy, alot of people keep saying the curse mark helped him blah blah blah, a prodigy is a child with extraordinary skill, intelligence, or potential. Most people forget Sasuke was at the top of his class before Orochimaru or anybody else came into the picture. Give the emo some credit
Nagato was not a prodigy, he's in the same boat with Gaara, all he did was cry and let rinnegan take the wheel. Yes he becomes a great shinobi in his teen years but a prodigy like I stated early is a CHILD. Nagato didn't even know the ways of a ninja until Jiraiya showed up....
Kabuto, I don't know what to call him, a fast learner yes, a prodigy .... :shrug:
Obito was not a prodigy, somebody PLEASE QUOTE ME and tell me 1 reason Obito should be considered a prodigy....
Konohamaru is not a prodigy, not even gonna justify this one with an explanation....just no

Regarding what you said about Naruto, pretty much everyone is born with great potential, the prodigies being the ones who fulfill it at a young age, which doesn't exactly include Naruto.
Thank you for leaving out Jiraiya (he's just like Naruto), and you're also right about Konohamaru, Gaara, Obito, and Nagato. But don't forget we found out later it was Gaara's mom who made the sand move, not Shukaku
In regards to Kabuto, in terms of medical jutsu, he was definitely a prodigy. Shikamaru's kinda the same way, just in terms of intel and strategy rather than medical.
Sasuke, while I agree that's he a prodigy, you're kinda going about it the wrong way. Before the massacre even took place, he was said to be performing some of the clan's more powerful fire techniques, which is the real proof that he's a prodigy. His performance in the academy after receiving his Sharingan was basically driven by his desire to kill Itachi. His performance in the academy might've been different if that never happened, even if only slightly. Not hatin', just sayin' your data's a bit off.
The other prodigies you listed seem about right to me. Just don't forget Izuna. If he was Madara's equal, then he was likely a prodigy as well.

He probably did. I just remember it saying he was very proud of him for his talent and this was after he lost interest in Itachi cause of his views.

how can you call sasuke a prodigy and say obito isnt he graduated at the age of 9 became a chuunin at the age of 11 and he did all of that before he awakened his sharingan yes he died at a young age but that doesnt mean his not a prodigy
I thought as much. Also Konohamaru has become one of the most overrated shinobi of NARUTO! I know hes of Sarutobi lineage & like the 2nd coming lf Naruto(character wise) but C'MON lil dude is no prodigy by a loooong shot. I do think he will become an astounding shinobi later in life though. Also replace potential with promise, every shinobi has potential not all shinobi have promise. Hiruzen is like Rainman when it comes to picking great shinobi, he said he had promise in following;

I hate to be that dude but stats don't lie his Databook stats are terrible, and being a chuunin at 11 isn't that great compared to Kakashi (age 6). He's not a prodigy chief sorry
