How to Train the Dead Demon Consuming Seal

I figured I'd ask, as I've been wondering:

How do you train the Dead Demon Consuming Seal? How can you know that it works? For example, how did Hiruzen Sarutobi (3rd Hokage) know that the jutsu he used to try and seal Orochimaru would even work? (if you argument is that Minato used it against the Kyuubi, how did Minato know it would work?)

It seems like a bit of a tricky jutsu to practice...at all.

Anyone got any ideas? =]

The Dead Demon Seal is literary a seal on the soul. It was pretty easy to figure out what it holds since it seals one's soul off with its user.

you have to know of its existence and what does it do. You'd have to practice with a bomb before launching it? but i don't think you need to practice it. As you have summoned it, your life's goal depends on it. I'm pretty sure as you have summoned it, you'll get the hang of it pretty quick

But how do you know you'll be ABLE to summon it? D:

Because some book told you to. How did Itachi know that how to obtain MS? It said that he had to kill his best friend. He didn't had any proof of, if he did kill his best friend, he'll have his MS. He killed him, he got it. How can your practice of getting a MS? You can't. Same example.

Itachi didn't kill Shisui; but! I do see your point. =] It is, in essence, the same example; however, in the case of gaining MS, you've got multiple people you can try to kill...but with DDCS, you only get one try!

I think he have seen it performed, that could be the reason why Minato knew that only the user can see the DRS.
