Pretty much... I think the whole war arc was a complete mistake. naruto is just a fight fest now
It's a war arc, what were you expecting? People to talk about there problems? quit your bitching and enjoy the story for what kishi wants it to be, not what you want it to be instead of whining like a brat.

Are you an author? I'm asking because I think it takes another author to realize and comprehend this concept. I've written some works myself, though I've never published or even attempted to publish them, but I know exactly what you're talking about, its what authors do actually when they need to advance the plot. Most people don't understand this though, that an author can create a back story out of nowhere from anything that has already happened and simply link it to some new idea they just recently came up with so that there are no plotholes. Or simply cover up a plot hole by creating a backstory.
I'm a little confused why this is a problem? The curse mark, Mangekyo, and Sage Mode were introduced with no prior background. Not everything is in need of foreshadowing.
I agree about the dragon sage thing, it is plain and simply made up, there was no foreshadowing of this, its something that Kishi recently cooked up. Surely we aren't expected to believe that Juugo, Sasuke, Tayuya, Kidomaru, Kimimaro, Jirobo, Sakon, and Ukon were all using nature chakra without even knowing it, that's bull, someone would obviously realise when an external source of chakra was entering their system.
Actually curse mark has never really been fully explained outside of the fact that it uses Jugo's dna. Even if it powered by nature energy, your nitpick still wouldn't make since I think everyone with curse mark was aware that they were getting more chakra since they were getting a power-up and Naruto didn't know about nature energy until he got Sage mode.
What also doesn't make sense is how Orochimaru was unable to find that cave, shouldn't the great snake sage be in the land of his snake summons? In that case a simple reverse summoning would get him there, why was that so hard to do. Or does kishi simply want an excuse for Oro not to have known sage mode.
Oro did find Dragon Cave when he alive but he wasn't able to handle sage mode, and you can't just reverse summon yourself wherever you feel like, especially if you have never been to said place. Also, the snakes aren't the most inviting creature. The only reason Manda serves Oro is because Oro could beat him, and would still kill him if he got the chance..
Also, in part one the cursed seal was explained completely differently to what Kabuto said, there are so many things about its mechanics that were revealed back then that are contradictory to what Kabuto has said, Kishi really needs to brush up on this one, its not so much that Kabuto has a power up from the snake clan that is the problem, that was pretty much expected, but I think the way he introduced it was very flawed and lame.
Are you really gonna need to make such a big deal about this? Name me one story that has zero plot-holes/inconsistencies. As a writer you must also realize that expecting perfection won't work.

what? this was not outta nowhere...lol if you understand the tri-lock, then one could guess since there is toad sage, then there's possible a snake sage (er dragon in this case), and a slug sage. or else how could the 3 remain in lock if only ONE has sage and the others have no bonuses to them? it would only make sense...then again, i don't think like most. but all in all, i expected as much. just not exactly the way kishi showed it lol

exactly what I'm saying, I honesty suspected there were other forms of sage mode, but if something happens that people didn't predict, they just accuse kishi of pulling something out of his butt.

Fail thread. I was mentioned Oro was trying to obtain it's power, so it has infact to do with Orochimaru's hidden goals and research.
You failed to nail the whole point of this thread. Ofcourse Kishi could come out now and say those were Oro's hidden goals from the start, which is a poor excuse, considering how a writer of his calibre would pull such a fail move

I agree, this is horrible and wrong if Kabuto says 'that jutsu makes him invincible' you'd expect it not to be something we've seen before, SM is old news. And he ripped off what made toads unique and gave it to snakes too, its so unoriginal.
Exactly, though that can be justified by saying, there's a place all major summonings return to

Bah.. Then all summonings should have sages as well? Why was this never explained before? And why does Tsunade not have SM?
