Tsunade is consider Strong - Powerful Taijutsu Techniques. Minato is consider a genius. Comparing his skill next to the previous Hokage's is useless, because they all had skill that's unparalleled and whatnot. Also, they all had to sacrifice their lives to save the village.

If you still don't understand the difference from hype, being consider the skillful Hokage, or who sacrifice themselves better, than here:

Top Hokage
Minato's Hype < Hashirama's Hype

Skillful Hokage
Minato's Skill ? Hashirama's Skill

Hokage's Sacrifice
Minato's Sacrifice = Hashirama's Sacrifice

It's the same for all the Hokage. Except, no one can beat Hashirama's hype at this point of time. You have your opinion and many others have theirs. You can't change that and no one isn't going change theirs. You just have to accept it the way it is.
Hence why he said in the beginning of his post "in my opinion".

Minato is indeed stronger however I'm going to have to disagree with some of these points.

- Yes the 3rd admits defeat to Orochimaru and Anko wishes the 4th was here why? Easy answer the 3rd was old and retired. That is why he succeeded the hokage tilte to Minato. Hiruzen was way past his prime. This isn't sufficient evidence claiming Minato > Hiruzen Prime or Harishima. Obviously Minato > Old fart Hiruzen

-

Iruka said "he was said to be the strongest of all" I believe Hiruzen was just implying not to flatter him because he is no longer strong enough to keep that title. Minato protected the village that is an obvious reason why there would be a close up on him. Not because he is the strongest.

-

I'm pretty sure the Raikage was talking about in terms of speed. As well as Naruto just reminding Kakashi how fast Minato was.

Throughout the manga I think Kishi just put more emphasis on Minato strictly because he was Narutos dad not because he was the strongest hokage.
First of all the bolded^. If that was the case, why did'nt the 3rd choose a successor for the next 12 years? He would have been even more past his prime after Minato died than before, where's the logic behind this? And at that time you claim Hiruzen is way past his prime, Minato had been dead for 12 years. Assuming he was Hokage for 2-3 years(reasonable time frame) that puts Hiruzen 16 years younger than he was in that frame. And at that time, he still chose Minato to be the 4th Hokage.

And about Hiruzen's prime, Jiraiya was his student and witnessed all of it, yet he still called Minato the shinobi to whom all others pale in comparison. Why?
Why is it that kishi shows Kakashi, after all these years still having flashbacks of Minato's abilities yet Jiraiya never had similar flashbacks of Hiruzen prime's strength?

The 3rd Hokage was alive during the reign of both the 2nd Hokage and the 1st Hokage, surely if the 1st was the strongest his flashback in Hiruzen's memory at such a time would have been more appropriate? Hashirama also protected the village against Madara, not just Minato.

Even if he is Naruto's dad, it does'nt make sense that at a time when Naruto is'nt even present, Hiruzen has flashbacks of Minato? Please note i did not list Tsunade being reminded of the 4th when Naruto crushed the first Pain body, as that was shown just because he's Naruto's dad, not because of his own strength. The scene with Hiruzen was in a completely different context, and to me it seems a stretch to say that scene was based only on Minato's relation to the hero of the series.
And here is what he said exactly, see it for yourself:

There was never a man that could surpass him.
Words straight from the manga and the 4th Raikage's mouth.
You've failed to explain the most important factor. Anko said she wished the 4th was alive because the 3rd was old abd past it. You've failed to talk about Hiruzen in his prime; that's when he was at his strongest. He said don't use past tense to Iruka because he wanted to believe he still had his mojo; when the truth is he knew he was past it.
When was this prime? Has kishi shown it anywhere, in any flashback in the manga? The knowledge about his prime comes from Iruka's statement, which can be refuted and is up to interpretation. That's your personal interpretation of that statement, for example Iruka says 'was said to be', that's world's apart from saying 'he was the strongest Hokage'. And to me, personally, the fact that kishi chose to show Minato's statue on page 17 at that time suggests he was above Hiruzen in abilities.
Hence why he said in the beginning of his post "in my opinion".
Thank you for pointing that out, i thought by underlining it people would understand. Plus reps.

At bolded part, he could be referring to the part where Sarutobi, Danzo and the 2nd Hokage with 4 others fought the Kin GIN troops here:

You must be registered for see images

That's 7 vs 20 with the man hailed by many to be the strongest Hokage at his prime yet failed to save the 2nd. The 2nd acted as a decoy for them to survive. They planned to trap their enemies or ambush them from behind. I bet if Minato was in that situation then no one would die.

You must be registered for see images

One thing they failed to see was that Hiruzen was called the GOD OF SHINOBI way before Minato was known or not been born yet. How will the people know that someone in the future can surpass him? They can't right? What those people can compare are with the previous Hokages. Those are the Hokages that they know before they gave such a name.

If the people in the present time calls Naruto the strongest Hokage then it's safe to say that they are comparing him to the previous Hokages and not someone who is yet to be born.

Minato is 3rd strongest hokage at best. Personally believe he is fourth.
The reason being the hype hashirama and sarutobi has is far greater than minato's therefore those 2 however you look at it are the strongest.

With the recent hype hashirama has received it also impacts tobirama because they had a similar relationship to madara and izuna were they were said to be rivals and actually close in abilities. Obviously the older brother being slightly stronger and older became leaders of their clans, but tobirama wouldve been the second in charge of the senju, just like how izuna was for the uchiha.

Thirdly, all the previous hokages have been in their prime, whilst minato didnt hit his prime and with this were stronger than him. What i would say is that if minato had hit him prime although i stilldont believe he would rival hashirama i believe he would rival sarutobi and certainly surpass tobirama, but since he died before he hit him prime and all the previous hokages actually were at their peak i believe they were all stronger than him therefore;
1. Hashirama
2. Sarutobi
3. Tobirama
4. Minato
5. Tsunade

This reply is to the part that I bolded only.
The reason he didn't choose another successor after Minato died is because even though he was old and past his time there was no one else stronger than him otherwise he would have its simple logic. No one else in the village could of done what he did against Oro so don't loose sight of the fact that even though he was past it doesn't mean he was no longer any good.

Hashirama I agree with and Hiruzen is arguable, but Tobirama being above Minato really shouldn't be. Minato has much greater feats and much more hype than him so I really don't know what you're basing that off of.

I hope it's not because Tobirama was Hashirama's brother means he rivaled him in power because that's not very logical at all.

You forgot hiruzen was old when anko said that. Imo hiruzen prime > minato but minato died a young age he had so much potential to go past his limit at that time. Hashirama i think is still the strongest and thats because of his kekkei genkai which gives him the edge over the other hokages.

I was actually contemplating replacing Hiruzen with hashirama because the hype he has receieved by oro, not only calling him god of shinobi, which he is the only ninja that share this nickname with the sage but also called him the professor says alot, he even went as far as saying 10 years earlier hiruzen at (69-10) 59 wouldve defeated him, says alot. Iruka also hyped him up so great that its ridiculous and this backed up by his databook stats. If you look he achieves maximim for everything and its only stamina, strength and speed which he doesnt. Not surprisingly old age affects this and this is what the anbu that were watching the fight stated about old hiruzen. In his prime he could be the first/only ninja to achieve a max for everything, thats how ridiculous it is, also backed by what he said about enma when he turned into the staff couldnt belief that it was this heavy clearly implying that in his prime that a transformed enma was light to him. He also got hype again by enma when he compared current hiruzen who was holding his own to his prime and called him pathetic. Kabuto also said even in his old age he was the strongest kage still. What he did against the 2 previous hokages although they werent at their peak, plus an oro who was underestimating was still extremely impressive and tbh i can see alot of high rank ninja's losing in that situation. All his hype he has received is backed in the data book. The only reason i didnt put him ahead of hashirama is because although his feat of being hokage for 3 wars is great, but also in his old age saving the village from oro, still pale's in comparison to what hashirama did. If he was to get more feats id put him above hashirama, but certainly its between these two for top spot.

I agree that minato has much better feats and hype than tobirama if you look at that alone. If you take into consideration that unlike minato, tobirama mustve reached his peak whilst minato didnt, but also due to his techniques that he was rumoured to have counters minato's hype and feat. I believe being the second in command of the senju but also hashirama's probable training partner, he tips minato to third place by just a bit

Sorry but I didn't read the 1st paragraph because that didn't really have anything to do with what I was talking about.

Anyway what techniques counter Minato's hype and feats? Edo tensei? He declared it forbidden meaning he'd never use it again. Suitons? Those are pretty much fodder jutsu when used against a guy like Minato. Also just like I said in my last post just because he was Hashirama's brother doesn't make him some extremely powerful shinobi. That's not a very logical counter at all.

Minato's hype and feats are far far greater than Tobirama which is why it shouldn't even be arguable who's stronger. Also just because one reached their prime while one didn't doesn't make the one who reached their prime stronger.

Naruto and Sasuke aren't anywhere close to their prime and they're already 2 of the strongest shinobi around. Look at Gaara as well. That's simply another poor example.

Why do you guys have a huge hatred and contempt for one character? If you don't agree with the points, just state and refute it
Haters Gonna hate.

Most of Minato Haters like to Start Flame wars and Mindlessly Hate him for what ever reason, Most common reason is Because "Fanboys overrate him to much"

You didnt read the 1st paragraph?, you said hiruzen its arguable and thats why i argued hiruzen in the first paragraph :flaw:

Anyway ive already given feats and hype to minato, but techniques and minato not reaching his prime imo puts them two around the same. Either him or tobirama could take 3rd and 4th place respectively but tobirama being in his prime but also his experience edges it for me

Yes I realize I said it was arguable, but that wasn't the main point I was getting at in my post.

Anyway as I said one being in their prime while one isn't doesn't indicate who's stronger. I've already given examples of several shinobi who aren't anywhere close to their prime and have already surpassed previous ninja who did reach their prime. That's a very poor example.

And as I said what techniques put him on par with Minato? As I've already explained he declared edo tensei forbidden and suitons are nothing compared to a shinobi like Minato. They both have s/t jutsu but Minato has summons, sealing jutsu, rasengan, at least some kind of elemental jutsu considering he was said to of tied to combine his elemental nature chakra and the rasengan, and other s/t jutsu.

At the highlighted part i agree as for techniques its still within his power to use it when he wants. What i was trying to say is that if you look at both's techniques that they were rumoured to have, tobirama's techniques are superior to minato's. Its one of his techniques that the enermy is using to challenge the allied force, although obviously his hasnt mastered to that of kabuto, but if you add his mastery of suiton and s/t ninjutsu that outweighs the techniques that minato has demonstrated

Minato has s/t jutsu, rasengan, summons, extremely fast base speed, and sealing jutsu. The only jutsu that Tobirama has that's superior is edo tensei. Rasengan does more damage than any kind of elemental jutsu. As I also said suitons are nothing when compare to a shinobi like Minato because they would never hit him.

Tobirama has nothing to counter Minato's summons. Heck since Minato had a contract with the toads he could probably even summon ma and pa and use their extremely powerful genjutsu.

Did you just say rasengan does more damage than any kind of elemental jutsu?, im not the person to say this against, can come up with more than 30 elementary jutsu's that are far superior to the basic rasengan. Id give you a clue, fire, wind, lightning, earth, water, dust, lava, wood, ice, + many more. All these elements have jutsu's that are superior to the basic rasengan.

Mastery of suiton > basic rasengan

Actually we dont know who's s/t is superior therefore id say in s/t its equal.

We dont know enough of tobirama's base speed but being an s/t user his shunshin must be fast, but since we dont know this minato's base speed > tobirama

Edo tensei being an a summoning technique > minato's summomning contract with the toads. If you add his sealing ninjutsu feats, it cancels out edo tensei therefore its equal.

Basically tobirama mastery of an element is the only thing he has over minato.
Similarly the only thing minato has over him is his base speed. Their other techniques counter one another

And if you had any common sense then you'd know I was talking about regular elemental jutsu, not kkg. So a suiton is going to do more damage than this?

Yea you lost all credibility with me with that statement. Tobirama needs prep for edo tensei while Minato doesn't for his summons. As I said the only thing Tobirama has over Minato is edo tensei that's it.

And like I said in my previous post Tobirama has nothing to fight all the huge summons Minato can summon during a fight. And as I said since he signed a contract with the toads that allows him to summon any toad to his side meaning ma and pa as well.

Er, this isnt a vs thread, im just comparing techniques that both have shown and thats about it

You also know that certain kg's are elements like ice and wood right, nor did you imply that you mean the 5 regular elements?

Anyway in techniques they shown their are quiet even

Er, this isnt a vs thread, im just comparing techniques that both have shown and thats about it

You also know that certain kg's are elements like ice and wood right, nor did you imply that you mean the 5 regular elements?

Anyway in techniques they shown their are quiet even
Common sense would tell you that I meant regular elemental jutsu, not kkg. Ice and wood are kkg. Anyway you've still provided no counter on how they're equal.

Minato's jutsu:
S/T jutsu
Extremely fast base speed
Rasengan
Summoning jutsu
Sealing jutsu

Tobirama's jutsu:
Edo Tensei
Suitons
S/T jutsu

Even if you want to say they're s/t jutsu is equal Minato still outclasses him in jutsu overall. The only jutsu from Tobirama that's superior to Minato's is his edo tensei and that's it. Tobirama's suitons aren't stronger than Minato's rasengan and it's pretty foolish to say so, but you're entitled to your opinion.

As I also said earlier logically Minato could summon Ma and Pa and they have their own unique jutsu as well as shown when battling with Jiraiya and Naruto.

Not to mention Minato's extremely intelligent.

Somebody who is arguably the best suiton user's suiton is inferior to rasengan?, er you can believe this. Im not a fortune teller i cannot interpret what you mean and what you dont mean and you talk about common sense?

Ma and pa falls under summonings.

Tobirama is no idiot either, not when he was the one that created edo tensei, but also so far the first old ninja that we know of that has an s/t tech that from what we know isnt a kg technique unlike tobi's

Minato created the rasengan and has the best mastery over it in the manga. I've already shown you a scan of the damage the rasengan can do and a suiton has never done that kind of damage. Where you got the idea that suiton is stronger than the rasengan I have no idea.

I know ma and pa falls under summoning but they come with their own unique jutsu making them even more lethal and once again Tobirama couldn't do anything against Minato's summonings if they fought.

I never said Tobirama is an idiot, only that Minato's very intelligent. Considering he's been the only one who's actually been able to injure Tobi is a testament to that. He was also said to be a genius seen once a decade at best.
