I still don't see how Naruto does everything the complete opposite of what Kushina said. I don't think he does at all, to me it seems he IS doing most of the things she said. But whatever that's besides the point. It would just be odd for Naruto to be with Hinata. I think the only reason she said what she did in the most recent chapter is to show that she is growing, and that she is going to start believing in herself and more on. I don't think she literally meant she's going to hold his hand as in be in a relationship with him. Quite the opposite, I think it means she is going to move on and realize she is never going to be with Naruto. Lee loves Sakura, does that mean he's going to be with her? No. It's one sided with the both of them, Hinata loves Naruto and he doesn't love her in that way, same with Lee loving Sakura. I just think it would be horrible writing\plot development for Kishi to have Naruto all of a sudden want to be in a relationship with Hinata. The entire series has been about Naruto and Sakura developing their relationship together. 12 years of development, that's how long the mangas been out. Hinata is a secondary character, I just don't see it happening, he never talks to her, she's rarely in the manga, it would just be weird. Just because SHE has been talking about how she loves Naruto all the time doesn't mean anything. He has NEVER said anything about her in that way.

Quite agreed. I never even considered how horrible the plot would turn out for something like that to happen. NaruSaku has been developing since day 1 so for him to just throw that away for a minor character would be HORRIBLE writing. Let ppl say what they will about Sakura's modern character, but she has come a long way and is still developing and has a long way to go. When she sees Naruto, she's bound to go up and talk to him, unlike Hinata... At the end of it all, it would be incomplete without Sakura. I'm sure Kishi has no intention of throwing her or her feelings for Naruto aside.
Your argument is very convincing. Naruto and Sakura have been through too much to just toss aside for a thought from Hinata. I mean, we had to see her say SOMETHING. And seeing as that's her character's fundamental basis, it would have been out of her character for her to say anything else. I truly feel bad that the foundation of her character is based on an unhealthy obsession with Naruto. It makes girls seem feeble and feeling based when in reality, that's untrue. Sakura's character has more depth than most of the other girls when I think about it. She's completely changed from her old self. She no longer loves Sasuke in any romantic way and has developed feelings like that for Naruto.
Sakura's words in 573 were concerning Naruto and her desire to help him, while Hinata's were quite selfish/one-sided if you consider it. A major turnaround for them both...

the only reason I asked that is because people kept telling me kushina was being serious when she said she wanted naruto to be with a girl like her and I already knew that, I never said she wasn't serious.

Agreed. Besides that, Hinata's character was barely developed. She was the shy insecure and below average Ninja, with a crash on Naruto in part 1. She is the same way in part 2. Will the war change that? Maybe, but it's too late at this point. Sakura has grown and changed and she has been repeatedly taking on leadership positions (Hokage assistant, ran the hospital during the Pain invasion, lead the group that followed Naruto to the Iron Country).

That was my feeling too, although to be fair, except for Sakura and possibly Shikamaru, each of the Konoha kids who were quoted harped on their favorite subject...

One other point regarding Sakura that has not been mentioned, is that if Naruto would indeed become Hokage, she would be far more suitable to the role of the Hokage's wife than Hinata. Given her organizational/leadership skills and 3 years experience as Tsunade's assistant, she could be extremely helpful to Naruto in taking on the less glamorous parts of the job, to which he is really unqualified (paper work, event organizing, etc.).

Naruto "saw through her lie" when she mentioned Sasuke. Before than he looked to have actually believed her. Naruto still believes in the old Team 7, as shown in his flashback.

Hinata only sees the Naruto that's openly shown. She knows nothing of his suffering of being a Kyubi host, for example. It's Sakura that sees closer to Naruto's strength and real character.

It's also Sakura who shows Naruto more appreciation.

Naruto would have lost his mind regardless of who jumped in to save him. Hinata was a friend who got "killed" before his eyes. That's the oly relationship they had.

Hinata saying "I love you" was not the trigger to Naruto going Kyubi. His only reaction was to stare at her in disbelief. The trigger was Hinata getting "killed". Nothing more. Put the other Rookies in Hinata's place, have Nagato "kill" them and Naruto would still rage.

You know you're pretty desperate when you claim Karuma is secretly pro NaruHina and anti NaruSaku. :shrug:

The difference is that Sakura still loves Sasuke for unknown reasons. He tried to killer twice but she sill loves him.

I don't have a problem with it I agree with you on the naruhina stuff lol, I was asking why people thought sakuras love for sasuke was selfish.
