First of all, Minato is NOTimmuneto genjutsu. Fans are trying to argue whether he can be caught by it or if he can be TRAPPEDby it. Not getting trapped is definitely different from being immune. While it’s true that those on your list were actually caught by a genjutsu, none of them may have the skill to escape from it. Please remember that every shinobi have different skill set.
Let’s take a look at your example on Hiruzen. A Kage caught by a genjutsu. A good example to show that a Kage level can still be caught by a genjutsu though he was able to escape from it through the use of his other senses. The technique used was different from other genjutsu because it exerts an hallucinatory effect upon the eyesight only and not the brain that’s why he was able to use other senses to track down Hashirama. Now, place Minato on Hiruzen’s position. Can he escape that easily? Yes, he can because of FTG, hence, no technique like Bringer-of-Darkness can TRAP him. In this example, it’s very clear that every shinobi possesses different skill set.
Let’s now go to the second part of the thread about what happened with the battle between Tobi and Minato. We may wonder why Tobi did not/ was not able to use genjutsu against Minato. In here, we may need the help of LOGIC and COMMON SENSE.
Here is the question a Minato fan will ask that makes sense.
Why was Tobi not able to use genjutsu against Minato?
Here are the answers of different people:
1. Plot
2. Tobi did not intend to use it (very dumb answer with no logic behind it)
3. He was not able to because he was controlling Kurama
Tobi was a proficient genjutsu user. Your claim that he has not shown true skill in genjutsu is absurd. He was able to control Kurama and Yagura (considered to be a perfect jinx). It was said that Madara controlled Kurama after gaining EMS. Logic will tell you that Madara=EMS=Kurama=Tobi
Let’s check the answers one by one.
1. Why call Tobi vs Minato a plot? We’re following a story here right? Why not view it as a HINT? This is the only chapter that we can see Minato in action. Kishi until now did not reveal Minato’s true skill, lineage, etc..He’s a complete mystery. Every little detail about Minato can be used to uncover his mystery.
2. Tobi did not intend to use it is a complete BS. A very dumb answer. Why? Because it defeats Tobi’s purpose.
3. Tobi had all the time to cast genjutsu on Minato when he took Naruto. Once again, He was not able to do it and not casting a genjutsu on the strongest man of the village is definitely a bad choice and with no logical reason at all. Tobi’s advantage was his genjutsu, yet he failed to use it before, during the fight, and after the fight.
Now, what do you think is the most LOGICAL reason why Tobi failed to use genjutsu on Minato? There should be a reason behind it other than a PLOT. PLOT doesn’t make sense and with no logical reason behind it.
Where is the LOGIC the ITACHI fans are screaming? Is there a logic behind a PLOT? Where is the logic behind it? Does it makes sense?
I know this will lead to Minato vs Itachi. I would love to have a debate against you. Let’s show other members how we can apply logic to support our claims. If you accept my challenge, it would be an honor. Let’s see who can apply more logical reasons. In this way, we can end all Minato vs Itachi threads. This is a favor I ask from you. Let's settle this with a quality debate.
