DBZ one of worst animes ever

Kishi himself stated that DBZ influenced him heavily in creating Naruto and still influences.

Naruto is kind hearted, will do anything for a friend including die, he is comical at times, he will be the strongest character(if not already), etc(I could go on) all like Goku.

effin agree, but thats the producers and directors fault.... that movie is the worst crap that exists in this world apart from mosquitoes... but that doesnt mean the ORIGINAL anime and manga were like that, hell even the original japanese Dragonball movie was better than this new crappy half a**ed movie...

Am I serious about what I don't really get what your saying here nothing I said was a lie about Kishi modeling Naruto after DBZ and I never said one was better than the other I like both of them alot and both for different reasons I am not some insane troll fanboy of just one. In my eyes and a lot of people's DBZ brought me into Manga/Anime and without it I would not be enjoying Bleach and Naruto right now.

so i used to watch dbz when i was younger and thought it was the best thing ever(who on here didnt); but looking back i realize its probably one of the worst animes ever made. Horrible story line and no character development whatsoever.

I mean practically all the main villains (frieza, buu, etc..) had no motive and just wanted to destroy the world just because. No depth to any of the characters, no backstory on the villains everything is just black and white. Either evil or good.

In naruto and other animes countless episodes are spent developing the main characters and the villains and how they became the villain. I mean all of naruto is about how sasuke grows into a villain. Dbz is just a very simplistic anime.only thing going to dbz was the action. Im just saiyin (lol see wat i did there)...

also its probably not the worst one out there cuz there's lots of animes and probably really bad ones that no ones even see but it definitely isn't one of the good ones.

Ok stop telling me about how kishi got inspiration for naruto from dbz i know this already and i knew it before i made the thread. Doesn't change these facts:

Fact: Dbz has weak plot. If a 5 year old can grasp the plot then its not a very deep and meaningful plot.
Fact: Dbz is repetitive. I can sum up every saga of dbz in about one paragraph which i will do down below.
Fact: Dbz villains and heroes depth ( they are either good or bad) no gray areas. The only exception to this was vegeta who started out all bad then became good
fact: Dbz fights were drawn out and boring, just raw power vs raw power no strategies involved at all?
Fact: You dbz fanboys are just letting nostalgia take over your emotions. Stop getting your panties in a twist

here is every dbz saga in a nutshell

scene of goku and his friends all happy and relaxed. Oh no! Enter powerful alien headed to earth. Train train train. Finally after a month of episodes villian reaches destination. Good guys fight villian. Villain transforms into different form. Pwns heroes. Everyone lies on ground waiting for goku to come save them. Goku arrives. Kicks ass. Villian transforms again. Kicks gokus ass. Goku turns super saiyan and kicks ass. Oh look another f-ing transformation. Fight drags on. Both goku and villian pretty beat up; goku finished day with spirit bomb. Everyone uses dragonballs to irreverse every bad thing that happened. Then scene of goku and his friends all happy and relaxed. Oh no! Enter powerful alien headed to earth. Repeat

Well you either grow dumb or don't have an objective (point of)view now that you watch/read naruto (which is clearly better), but I recently just rewatched some DBZ episodes, and I still enjoy them just as much as I did in my childhood.
Even so, I still find Naruto more entertaining and much more fun than DB/DBZ.
It is clear that DB GT and other crap are real crap.

I wouldn't be suprised if its what started the spikey haired hero trend and if you grew up with the show, you can recognize how many other animes and manga were inspired by DBZ, Naruto itself has many examples. Naruto looks like a super saiyan while Sasuke is a regular black haired saiyan. I don't feel like reading through 27 pages but I'm sure someone already pointed out by now the color schemes of their clothing mimic Goku and Vegeta and Naruto uses a miniture hand held version of the spirit bomb renamed to Rasengan.

I can't tell whether Dragon ball series is worst or the best anime of the previous decade, but i think some anime are better left anime, i mean if u take the examples of movies like Dragon ball evolution or Pokemon Inception, these films just ruined the reputation of the anime among people..But if u r talkin only about anime series,DB series for instance was one of the most inspiring anime series for previous two decades...On the other hand, some anime can keep up with the long run while others can not...Dragon ball series is quite a long one, from Goku's birth to his leaving...over millions of people liked this series...it had a totally different way of attracting people,not like many other cartoon shows which only aimed to amuse the viewers...i think u understand my point...On the other hand if you see the anime series which couldn't keep up with the interest of the viewers in the long run, take Pokémon for example, it had quite a good start leaving aside its certain banned episode..,but it did not improve much the character of the protagonist as other animes..,i mean Ash kethum, that fellow has got no single level of maturity in his character since begining...and now the show seems to be just getting lengthyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy..........................................

a mod really needs to close this thread. i agree with you alittle i mean dbz was great but up to the cell saga it got repetive and less fun less twists and turns but still it was fun to wacth. and friza had a raseson he was scared of the syaians and his family is f*cked up wanting to rule the universe and all that junk he grew up thinking that way.

dbz was a legend taht i'll never forget but still you have to let it go many mangas are gonna supass it someday since it ENDED one piece so far is ( in my opion) is better then dbz and naruto is getting there, bleach is ok around the same place as naruto, and fairy tale i have no idea never read it.


plus he wanted to stop at the cell saga plus his oringanal story got messed up from what he wanted teh first time, his inpiration was jorney to the west ( don't know what it is though i assum e a popular manga) and goku was supposed to trael and that stuff instead he became a fighter and that stuck more so he went with that ( i think) he did a great job with dbz.
