because japanese version has more emotion involved when the characters express emotion .. english version of naruto i is cool, but the characters sound soft, like a care bear, instead of a ninja. japanese folk bring out the hardcore of the character.. there is way more emotion man.

Yes it can actually?! Japanese voices sound the same sooooo it kinda helps when you can tell whos who?! not to be racist or anything :D

no they aren't.
after I watched naruto for years. I was able tell that bleach has a lot of voice actors who worked with naruto
ishida had the same voice actor as sasuke,
a filler character had the same voice actor as tsunade
ukitake had the same voice actor as itachi,
hanatarou had the same voice actor as choujio
a hollow who aired for just one episode had the same voice actor as jiraiya.
there were more but these five are the ones that crossed my mind for now

I figured all these in their very first sentence.
if you can't tell who's who, you should work on your ears

I find if im watching English dub I can get easily detracted, but if im watching English subbed I tend to stay focused because I have to read what is being said.
Also I tend to remember things that have been said more.

Lazy bastards the lot of them!

Although it does prevent people from becoming immersed in it because they're concentrating on the subtitles. People that lack a normal brain that is.

Non non. :hint:

Not lazy if you are learning japanese by listening to japanese and reading the english subtitles. I understand some of it thanks to spanish.

because the dub is censored and the sub you get the whole story. I still only watch the subs once i reach the end of the dubs because i like to go on random forum sites and troll yahoo answers during "boring" scenes that can be listened to without missing anything.

oh and good luck trying to learn japanese by watching subbed animes the translations are sometimes off and because the 2 languages are structured so differently its a very hard thing to accomplish. ive watched a few subbed anime series all the way through and im just barely starting to learn the difference between japanese words, nowhere close to learning meanings.

It's like watching a PBS show for 4year olds, instead of watching Adult Swim.
The English voices are also annoying.

I'm trying that although it is quite tricky. I understand some of it due to long lengths of watching that and old japenese films lol xd

I am not just learning just through Naruto. I am also taking classes and taking some reading classes. So all of it is helpful anyway I can get it.

I can say....

Ohaiyo!

Watashi wa Haruno Sakura desu.

Yoroshiku onegaishimasu.

I recognize words like....

Arigato
Iie
Hai

theres more but I am sleepy ~__~

yeah after a while you start to recognize the words. there has to be more than those.
like
daijoubu?
doyu kotoda? etc.

and the structure of japanese is very similar to my own language, so after reading the english translation I can tell the style of the sentence, subject noun etc.

though it took me 4 years to become like this :D

I don't like dub, whatever i watch. Not in any language, not even my own language.
Why? It's cause it ruins the whole atmosphere of the video. Japanese is such a cool language.

subbed is better, naruto's dubbed voice grinds on my last nerve, and the jutsu sound so lame in english.
