i don't think it should be allowed under any circumstance. let me get this straight, i'm indifferent about religion so it's not driving my arguments, but the basic premise behind abortion is that a fetus isn't a person, which i think is very flawed. you're killing off human potential for selfish reasons.

even if it is under a pretext of rape, two wrongs don't make a right. and women suffering psychological trauma after abortion is well documented. i symphatize and feel really sorry for such cases, and i'm aware that these women especially will carry the brunt for other's misdeeds, but you're still killing a future person on a basis of convenience. it can't be helped. and this is only a minority of cases, most people have abortions simply because they didnt bother to be careful.sadly, we're living in a culture of entitlement.

if the mother is at risk of death, then it's another story although still a very gray area. i'm not sure what to think in this case, on one hand i feel it's wrong to abort, on the other hand it's wrong to emperil the woman's life... the woman should choose imo.

i saw a very touching case about some guy whose mother was advised to abort because she was at the risk of dying and her child had a good chance of being born with a disability, she refused and her son became a successful baseball player.

If you are gonna possibly use a religious standpoint don't use that..The bible says nothing on Birth Control.

Let me give you a scenario to help explain this:

A woman is raped. She is hurt, mentally and physically. 9 months later, she is due for a pregnancy that she has a chance of dying for, a baby born to a man from one of the few men that raped her, and if she keeps the baby, she won't be able to support it and will be forced to give away any educational opportunity.

There are cases when Abortion are the right choice and I narrow them down to endangering the mother's life, rape cases (includes incest), and if the mother cannot support the baby if they plan to keep the baby.

I am pro-choice but I do support the mother allowing the baby to be born but it is their choice, not mine.

I agree with this all the way. To force a woman to mother a child made of rape is just wrong. In cases of people keeping the baby after being raped, most mothers can't even stand to look at the child. To force someone to go through that and to put a child through that is just wrong.

One of my friends had a DNC, which is a legal abortion after the first three months because they told her that her baby would have basically been a still-born birth anyway and it could also kill her in the process.

OMG 63 people actually voted for yes, what a bunch of murders. Abortion is never ok, your killing a living thing.

I continuously have to repost as it annoys me vastly at how people is so ignorant to a discussion. If you do not wish to participate with a reasonable, and formal arguement then stay out of the discussion. You have no right to judge other people, everyone has different opinions. Do you feel relief after calling people names? Do you feel mature by doing so?

it can't be brutal if it doesn't feel pain technically killing a chicken is worse than abortion at that stage.

so if someone doesnt feel pain, its okay to hack them apart? and you are really putting an animal's life above a human's in ANY circumstance?
