Kuroi Honoo: I don't like that you for some strange reason decided to recite Naruto histories which we are all aware of.
I also don't like that you say Naruto came close to exacting revenge on tsunade. Thats rubbish and you know it. If you disagree then please post the link.
The point here is Sasuke has chosen to be manipulated and has also been given many ways out of this darkness and refuses them all. Sasuke plays the victim and uses this to justify his revenge(Hitler did something similar btw).
Don't think Sasuke has had it harder or has been manipulated his whole life so blablabla,he's had a s**t time and we all know this. However, all the other characters made the choice to do the right thing after a while.
Regarding Gaara:
1: You should not have chosen Gaara as an example. Gaara was unique. The Ichibi is a haunting spirit who twists the mentality of his host and tries to make them crazy and paranoid/psychotic. Shukaku also deprives the host of sleep leaving them vulnerable and when they do sleep he haunts them into madness.
2: Gaara was shunned the same as any other Jinchuuriki but this lasted much longer for him and only stopped when he fought Naruto. 12 years of persecution, hatred, fear and being alone and unloved.
3: Gaara did have some time during which he thought he was loved and it was taken away from him by his uncle and his father in the form of tormenting lies. So he felt deep loss & sadness & abandoned, which combined with the bloodthirty Shukaku's torments and twisting made him snap and think only for himself and to continue his existence by taking that of others.
4: Gaara had 6 attempts made on his life by his own father which he at first hated but learnt to like. He felt them to be evaluations of his existence. I think having your father out to kill you might make some of us uneasy too. No?
5: Gaara had it harder. FACT!!
Even when Gaara decided to be good he still tried very hard to prove his worth as a member of the Shinobi army and make amends where he did wrong in the past. Gaara always wanted a good life but had it taken away forcibly from him and was manipulated by his father & uncle. Add to that being a host to the haunting Ichibi and you have one hard childhood.
Sasuke had a hard time. Others did too. Even now that Sasuke knows Itachi wanted to save Konoha he still wants to kill em all just because he thinks it will make him feel better.
And finally. You're point about Sasuke being influenced is terrible. Gaara lived with a being within him telling him to kill and torture,he got over it.Not to mention the fact that a 24hr Genjutsu is nothing compared to living for 15 years with Shukaku keeping you awake/giving you murderous nightmares & telling you to kill all the time. He had to fight this back for 15 years while thinking his mother and father hated him and his village feared him.
What did Gaara do about it you may ask?
BECAME KAZEKAGE!!!!
Being influenced or "he told me to" is not a good reason for doing something a 5 year old knows is bad.
Even Tobi was careful with Sasuke as the information he'd received about Itachi,he thought, would be enough to make Sasuke join Konoha again. Sasuke is now making decision based only on being evil/revenge. It's selfish and many others could have easily done the same thing but didn't.
