When did he fight a thousand?
If I remember correctly Oro was watching him fight 100 men, and then said to himself "And to think that I was considered a genius at that age. He beat 100 men without killing them and didn't even break a sweat."
IF you can link me a page where it says 1000 then feel free to. 1000 men of any type would make Sasuke break a sweat and probably get hurt because he doesn't have the insane chakra levels that the raikage does.
So I could be wrong but I am 99% sure that it was 100 of Oro's little slaves that Sasuke fought.

The weird thing is I don't even know how this subject was brought up. I just thought I would set some facts straight. I thought this was Muu vs. the 3rd raikage? No one has mentioned that in a while.

Ill go with mu on this one.
the 3rd raikage is a power house, but i dont think he has the requirements to beat mu because to defeat somebody like muu you need more than power. You have to be extremely intelligent and from what ive seen he is like kisame,jiraiya,bee,A. They arent smart but at the same time they arent dumb.
Also i do not believe that the 3rd's body can withstand dust release.

Oh well, then if Sasuke fights 9900 more ninjas then he can talk some smack. And they were real ninjas too, not slaves of Oro that only got daylight whenever Oro wanted to watch them die.
The 3rd raikage is just a tank, Can you imagine fighting 10,000 people? And likely he only died of chakra exhaustion.

He figured them out because he had an idea of who the rennigan user might be. He had help from ma and pa and even that he was killed before he could do anything about it.

What i will say in defence of the 3rd raikage is that before mu can use dust release he has to become visible again, if the 3rd can react during this time and not just evade it but successfully deal a fatal blow to mu he can win

If mu splits then the advantage does to 3rd because mu cannot use dust release anymore and this was his only chance of damaging the 3rd's body
