makes me wonder why Akainu ignored Ace and went after Luffy? can someone tell me why? was it so Ace would jump in and save his little bro??

Yes Ace was very strong but not that to match an Admiral's strength, he wasn't on an Admiral level and hitting an Admiral doesn't mean that the strength's have equalised or gotten near to them. All the Admiral's power was close to each other and if any one of them have gotten full out at Ace we would have died earlier. Ace was strong, extremely strong but more than or near to an Admiral, i guess no.

well if ur talking about when we see Ace fighting he was weakened badly and he still pwned in the war for like a few minutes.
No he wasnt weakened when he was rescued he was only weak at the execution platform when held in seastone handcuffs.
Do you want to imply that he defeated 20-30 inexperienced marines in those few minutes made him near to the level of an Admiral?
As i said he was Strong but being an Admiral is far more bigger thing than being an Commander of 2nd division of Whitebeard Pirates.

well he was bruised alot and punished in Empel Down those Admirals couldnt really take out any of the commanders or hit them without a distraction.... Whitebeard coughed out blood 3rd Commander and Marco were distracted and one were hit....Ace wasnt beat he just saved his brother

It all comes to Haki. If Ace could use it as good as admirals than he's admiral level if not than he isn't. Simple as that. His fruit is definetly admiral level.

Luffy many time's was himself on a verge of death but still fought alot, this is One Piece, you can easily fight if you have a bit life left.
Point is he lacked the strength to surprass an Admiral or near to the power of an Admiral.

well he fought the admirals and showed he can handle himself meaning he is atleast close to an admiral we didnt get to see him fight in full strength all i know is he solo'd a pirate ship or a marine ship in one attack and smiled

Ace didn't spend DAYS fighting BB, it was a curbstomp in favor OF Teach. Besides, there's no such thing as "his fruit is Admiral level" ... luffy was given "pain killers" by ivankov(excuse the spelling) that was the only reason he was able to go on..if ace hade the same treatment it would have been a different story.
why are you ignoring the VIVRE CARD..that is a direct reference to how much life force ace has...it was less than half even when luffy was in the kuja's island.
aokiji is an admiral..he showed he was able to handle him..
if u can go toe-to-toe with some1 u are definitely at their level
u may be right on that but with that i was trying to get at ace's life force which showed ace was nowhere near his full strength at the war.

Yes, there is. Admiral level fruit is Logia fruit that can match destructive force of admiral fruits. Atleast that's how I understand it.
Enel, Kizaru, Aokiji, Akainu, Ace all had admiral level fruits. If you exchance those fruits between these characters nothing much would change between them all and Ace would still get his ass beaten since he has no Haki.
I see no other difference between him and admirals. Expierence means jack shit in One Piece. He could fight Jimbe for 5 days and than go against Whitebeard which means his stamina is a-okay. After spending a week in Impel Down and being tortured there, he fought admirals when he was supposed to be unconscious ( (c) Garp) - this is a clear sign his resistance is high enough to match admirals.
The only thing he might lack is Haki.
i agree..i don't think there is such a thing...some do have elemental adv over others but all of them have potential if developed well...i think it was croc that said something along those lines
