Nah I doubt it, Itachi said he used his most powerful long range attack, it was that binded Yasaka, I'm pretty sure that if he could even use it more than once, he couldn't use it quickly enough to destroy chibaku tensei, and in all honesty I think that multi-Yasaka was a Madara specific technique.

maybe the guy was trying to reserve as much chakra as possible. it wouldnt make sense to an intellegent ninja like itachi to use more chakra than he needs too when he has help from 2 jin..especially when he knows he is fighting his boss pain, who has a godly reputation..i would be a little cautious too cha diggsss lol

itachi doesn't compare to nagato because, nagato being uzumaki which are blood related to the senju, he has the sage's body, and because he has the rinnegan the evolution of the eternal mangekyou, and some other unknown means(likely the senju DNA), which is form by the fusion of two mangekyous, he has the sages eyes, nagato posses powerful chkara, spiritual energy, will power, and physical energy, basically nagato is the sage sage of the six paths just in a smaller package, and he has more experience than even madara and tobi with the rinnegan(who six paths are only strong because of the people hes using (the jinchrukkis))(nagatos six paths were regular people and were still powerful), who or what the **** is itachi a prodigy? After reading all the thread I think it's plain obvious Itachi has no chance against Nagato. I remembered that Nagato's summonings give him shared vision field as well so as long as he has the summoning out he pretty much won't be caught by Tsukuyomi. Itachi would have to blind all the summons before he could attempt to Tsukuyomi Nagato, and Nagato would obviously notice this so he would either summon more or destroy Itachi before he could blind them all.

In sum I'd say Itachi has a one shot opportunity to defeat Nagato, which is to successfully Tsukuyomi Nagato in the first second of the fight. If he is not successful then he is done for. As for Pain vs Itachi, Itachi has no chance, ever.

dude i totally agree but some of youre facts are mixed up, because nagato is not in anyway related to the uzamaki/senju. And i agree that Nagato is way better than itachi, but i dont think he has as much experience as madara. anyway.... NAGATO RULES!!!!:izuna:

Nope, it's stated in the Mangas. Nagato is an Uzumaki. It was suspected from his hair color and was confirmed by Tobi if I'm not mistaken. With Nagato's death Naruto is the last remaining Uzumaki. Making Naruto and Tsunade the last remaining Youngest Son's descendants.

2) I said "we're not sure whether Rinnegan has the advantage of resisting getting caught in a genjutsu" this applies to healthy Nagato without the paths. Though he could just still use summons to distract Itachi into breaking the tsukuyomi, or are people now going to say he can use amaterasu and tsukuyomi at the same time?
3) The 6 paths have a visual link, if one path gets caught, do you think the rest will just stand there?

Nah Itachi and nagato are not on the same level. Nagato is only better than Itachi in Ninjutsu, which is basically useless against high caliber Genjutsu used by an expert.......along with other techniques. (Itachi is on an higher level)

Picture this ,edo madara have the complete rinnegan since because he have the sharingan skill and the rinnegan skill.Edo madara give nagato the rinnegan .Nagato is clan the uzumaki clan is a cousin of senju decendent (he not an uchiha,there fore he donot have the full powerful of the rinnegan.
Itachi on the other hand is an uchiha which donot have the rinnegan abilities but portion of it abilities since the complete rinnegan consist of the sharingan ability

Summary
EDO MADARA rinegan (complete rinnegan )= itachi MS + Nagato rinnegan

i know it donot make sense but they both they both lack what the true rinnegan contain
