dude one touch from itachi's susanoo will rape garra. and by the way why do u think that itachi will stand still and let garra pull him out of his susanoo, (if he couldd ofcourse) and all u are saying are the worst possibilities that can happen to itachi. imagine what would happen if garra ran out of chakra, or if itachi knew some water jutsu, or garra was caught in his genjutsu. i agree that he can block the black flame (sorry cant spell it). but against itachi he is no match.

Shishui's eye was Itachi's possession, thus Itachi's power. He implented it in Naruto's eyes, he indirectly freed himself from Edo

Gaara has sensor sand which he used to find Invisible Muu, there's no blindspot, one you make contact with the sand, he knows you're there.

No blindspot? Dude, Gaara's sand is mobile, if the speed of the attack is fast enuf, u can penetrate it. Both rock lee and Sasuke were able to do that. Itachi's shurikens are faster than the speed of either of them.

I'm not saying Gaara'll lose for sure, i'm just saying he'll be half dead before he can win.

Gaara is a long range fighter all Itachi's known genjutsu are short range.



Gaara can pull Itachi out of Susanoo(he doesn't need Onoki for this, Onoki just reduced the amount of exertion he'll need for this) and crush him. He can avoid Yasaka's Magatama and Totsuka by riding his sand to remove himself out of the way(it was fast enough to dodge Amaterasu)



Gaara can block Amaterasu with his defense(he did so against Sasuke's Amaterasu)


With no genjutsu(Tsukuyomi included) and no Amaterasu or Susanoo attacks, Itachi is dead, won't you agree? If not, tell me Itachi's options.


NOTE: He can't use water techs to destroy Gaara's sand, only oily water can accomplish this.

I highly doubt his shuriken can outspeed Rock Lee, that's a pretty bogus statement. Anyway, nothing as simple as a shuriken is getting passed Gaara's defense, lets be logical here.

I see this thread as saying that Gaara is a bad match-up for Itachi, and nothing more. I still think Itachi can beat Gaara with high difficulty, but just not in his usual fashion with a genjutsu. Gaara's sand makes it pretty tricky for Itachi to use a lot of his jutsu. Amaterasu wouldn't work because we've seen Gaara block Amaterasu before and Itachi wouldn't spam his MS unless he was sure he could use it to win. Tsukiyomi would prove hard to cast on Gaara but I think it's possible. It is a short ranged attack (Note: for people saying it's stated in the manga that it's long ranged, it's saying that once that person is caught in the genjutsu, he can keep them in the genjutsu from far distances).

But yea, maybe with a little more years under his belt, he could actually beat Itachi with little difficulty, because he has yet to reach his prime, and he is a little more inexperienced, which are the reasons I take him for not eing able to win right now.
