in theory yes, but itachi can stab a very immobile gaara with the sword of totsuka, and if he locks himself into that ball of sand and uses his third eye to look, itachi will remove it easily with his shuriken and kunai skills. it all depends on wether the totsuka sword can stab gaara through sand or not.

Itachi is very fast and knows taijutsu very well, he can easily pass Gaara's sand and hit him also Itachi can use genjutsu with his fingers (remember when he caught naruto). Anyway I do agree that Gaara is very powerful and can be a really taught opponent for Itachi.

I'd say that a great part has tactic too, and Itachi's smarter and has more battle experience than Gaara, he'd easily beat Gaara by brains-he's an Uchiha after all (note: I am not a fanboy)..though I wouldn't say that itachi's genjutsu is short-range: Gaara just needs to look at his eyes or Itachi can just point with his finger. In my opinion, Itachi would win.

In theory yes if it goes like the OP said Gaara can beat Itachi, BUT:

Don't forget Itachi's shuriken attacks. If they were able to find a blind spot in the Riinegan summons and Nagato, they could get through Gaara's sand. If Itachi uses a shadow clone to launch shuriken to create a diversion, he can distract Gaara, then get close enough to do Tsukuyomi.

It all depends on who has more knowledge on their opponent. But unique/non fanboy idea, every match is different and frankly Gaara is underrated.

Btw, whoever said Itachi's susanoo>Madara's is an Itachi fanboy and biased. Madara's susanoo is a fcking EMS tech, does'nt matter what Itachi's susanoo has its still only MS.

Gaara has sensor sand which he used to find Invisible Muu, there's no blindspot, one you make contact with the sand, he knows you're there.

Kishimoto said its short range meaning that even if you look at his eyes you won't be caught in his genjutsu as long as you're long range.

Gaara can pull Itachi out of Susanoo(he doesn't need Onoki for this, Onoki just reduced the amount of exertion he'll need for this) and crush him. He can avoid Yasaka's Magatama and Totsuka by riding his sand to remove himself out of the way(it was fast enough to dodge Amaterasu)



Gaara can block Amaterasu with his defense(he did so against Sasuke's Amaterasu)


With no genjutsu(Tsukuyomi included) and no Amaterasu or Susanoo attacks, Itachi is dead, won't you agree? If not, tell me Itachi's options.


NOTE: He can't use water techs to destroy Gaara's sand, only oily water can accomplish this.

Yeah, thanks for the rep. Btw I don't think water will work, the oil had a part to play, it doesn't matter cuz if he drags Itachhi out he'll grab hold of his hand and pull him out meaning there's no forming seals.

Itachi´s Susano´o IS better.
Yata Mirror repels _everything_ and Totsuka Sword seals _everything_ it scratches. You cant defend against his Susano´o and you cant destroy it, you can only avoid it until Itachi´s MS fades out. That on the other hand is nothing that happens in a few minutes..

MS or EMS doesnt matter strength wise. EternalMS..its in the name already, is just as good as normal MS. You just dont get blind anymore and you awaken a 4. MS power I´m not mistaken. Powerwise Susano´o wont get stronger from EMS, just last forever.

Ok u don't think Itachi is unbeatable, but I've never seen an Itachi thread where you said Itachi will lose so excuse my mistake, sorry. Still Susanoo no matter how big it gets doesn't protect underneath the user. Also the Deidara thing, Deidara had the advantage with the village allowing him to force Gaara to used the sand imbued with bombs and Itachi had the advantage since Deidara had already looked into his eyes at close range. Nobody will have these exact same advantages. Itachi can't put attacks inside Gaara's sand so you can't use this logic, Gaaraa can't use genjutsu on Deidara so you can't use this logic either. They're different shinobi with different skills that have different advantages in different situations.

madara is god father of itachi so if his susanoo can be ripped off and broken then itachi not exception. susanoo cant fly so when u make a hole underneath a susanoo then there goes living coffin for itachi .

gara dont have to shit on susanoo , if itachi uses susanoo for a little bit more than he can take then susanoo will fu*k and shit on itachi.
remeber sasuke used MS susanoo for 2 times and his eyes are done for and he went blind . so itachi hahaha no exception. u looser

haha you ppl make me laugh,ok i do agree that gaara is a BAD match up but not the Worst(in long range that would be diadara),but to say without genjutsu,AM,susanoo itachi is dead is just, would take on gaara then why can't itachi do the same,only with ninjustu and speed gaara's defense will be outU_U,itachi is fast he is not a slow ninja.

saw someppl saying that gaara's defense is because of his mother's soul,i know that it was the tail in him that protected him(again the reason y he still has that sand is unknown to meU_Ubecause he should not still have that automatic sand protection after removing the tail )

ahhh have u really seen the manga or are u just saying that because u are pissed at someone,ur 1st 1,itachi not deserving susanoo,u forget that he was half dead already but could still use it,2nd madara is not the god father of itachi,(even do he said he was his mentor was to make sasuke kill him,i hope u know that) and your 3rd 1,it is not only susanoo that makes u go blind,BOTH Amatasori&tsukoyomi will make u blind and sasuke used AM more,even just by activating the MS with increase your eye sight to go blindU_Uso pls don't say something becoz someone is pissing u offU_U
