Well my only question to you is, why would itachi say we would be lucky to escape with our lives when they first tried to catch naruto??? But ofcouse Itachi is not strong so what am I thinking. He beat 3, no one or two, but 3 peins. And this was all while trying to gather info, not even going in to fight at first. If he knew he was going to have to fight, he would have gathered nature chakra to begin with. That is the only reason he summond ma and pa out there, so he could fight while they gathered the chakra.

Sometimes i really do not think most of the people making these threads read all the manga, just bits, or go by the anime. There is a reason why he was Minato's teacher, you do understand that right. Fact is, he is not strong now because everyone is progressing, but he could still take out most anyone. And by the way, only the strong ninja can do sage mode, by that meaning great chakra control and a lot of it.

LMFAO Really dude you are going there about Hinata "fighting" Pain.... That wasnt a fight she got owned. As far as Never stating J-man was respected... How Come whenever he is mentioned by others it is always "Legendary" sanin. Even Itachi didnt want to fight him before the time skip, when he tried to get Naruto.

True, they may not be the MOST powerful, but powerful none the less. There is still the whole thing about newer generations surpassing the older ones. Kakashi said Naruto surpassed him after creating the Rasenshuriken, and Tsunade saw atributes of both his father and Jyraiya when confronting Pain. He learned the Rasengan in two weeks, perfected the Rasengan in under a month (something even the fourth couldn't do), learned (and mastered/completed) Sage training in a few weeks when Jyraiya's was imperfect and it took him most of his youth to learn it. No, I'm not a Naruto fanboy; I'm just using him as an example as far as the advance of new generations. The Sanin were powerful, but the simple fact is that it's time for others to take their place and lead the Shinobi war in their place.

No its not you get an understanding by comparing others. you can't say Naruto is Kage level without determing how strong other Kages are first. at that point you are comparing. im not trying to make them look weak, but give them the appropriate amount of power that have shown throughout the manga. they are strong and should be regarded as that. powerful is another level. they are strong to the leaf because thats the best the leaf had to offer at the time. that didnt mean they were powerful. other ninjas are stronger than them. they do things that outclass your average ninja. but powerful, never really shown. they can manage their own against any ninja but managing and being downright stronger than your opponent is two different things.
