The storyline becomes much more serious later on. If I'm correct, you're currrently at the Baratie arc, which I think starts at episode 20. Things will start getting serious there.I've watched about 22 episodes of the series so far and I don't mind it, but I'll be honest because I have a preference for anime that is a bit more serious though, however it's good to kick back and cut loose once in a while. I mean, this anime does just that, it provides an easy story-line to follow, however the overall story lacks a realistic maturity, but perhaps that's what makes it so unique.
You mean better? It's Not Childish...It's Because It's Less Serious Than Naruto.
Right. I'm On Episode 522 And Waiting For Episode 523.You mean better?
Which episode did you get to? I didn't get it until episode 35/40 or so... like Naruto, I didn't get into it until Hinata vs Neji xdI couldn't get into the story line
The question isn't whether its childish. We all know its childish. The question is: Is it TOO childish?Naruto is childish.
Bleach is childish.
Dragonball is childish.
Yu Yu Hakusho is childish.
Hunter X Hunter is childish.
Who cares if OP is childish too? It's a manga aimed at young boys with mature themes, so it is childish.
The only difference being, it's the manga singlehandedly carrying the manga industry right now.
Is there even such a thing? The question isn't whether its childish. We all know its childish. The question is: Is it TOO childish?
Now you're just talking about Straw Hat pirates, who are only in it for the freedom and the adventure. There are some pretty cruel and savage pirates in One Piece as well. One Piece is an awesome and funny anime. What I think is great about One Piece is how it portrays the importance of friendship and to fight for what you believe in. The Pirates you see in OP are completely different to the savage and cruel pirates in real life, but that's what I like about the show; It portrays the life of a Pirate through the eyes of a child.
I know but compare the things you see in OP to things you would see from the pirates in real life, you know like the killing and r*ping and looting. You don't see stuff done to such an extreme in OP. Not saying that this manga is the childishest thing out, it's pretty mature at times. Now you're just talking about Straw Hat pirates, who are only in it for the freedom and the adventure.
