Zoro always wears black trousers tucked in knee-high black leather boots. His shirt varies from time to time, but in normal circumstances he wears a sleeveless T-shirt or vest that's open, revealing his chest and stomach, making the diagonal scar clearly visible. He also permanently has wrapped around his abdomen a green haramaki, which he sometimes uses to hold his swords and scabbards so that he can easily switch them from the left to the right and vice versa in the midst of battle. The most well-known piece of his clothing is a pitch-black bandana tied around the upper part of his left arm, which he only ties around his head when he's deadserious. This is a clear sign he's in a killing mood now. Around his wrists he has two beautiful ornamented metallic bracers from the Varangian Guard and as last he also has a set ofpilot goggles around his neck with glasses that adapt itself automatically to the intensity of the light.
His infamous Santouryuu-swordstyle requires three katana's, so he has those with him at all times. Two of them are strapped on his back with two belts that run from his right shoulder to his left hip, so that the handles stick out at his right shoulder. Both belts pass each other in a long-stretched X, so that the two swords hang close together. His third, Yubashiri, he always carries in one of his hands and often lets it rest diagonally on his shoulder. Aside from the katana's Zoro also has two nearly identical dual swords with him, which are longer than a wakizashi, but short than a katana. These are also strapped around him by two belts in an X-shape, however this time around his waist. The belts run from his right hip to the upper part of his thigh, so that the two handles stick out at his right hip and are parallel with his back. On the lowest belt there also hangs a bottle for sake which rests on the middle of his left thigh. As last he also has a long tachi, which is strapped directly to his vest without a belt, with the handle sticking out at his left ear. Zoro is represented by the color green, the flower that suits him best is the thistle, he smells of steel and overall resembles a shark or dragon, which is clearly present in his demonical personality.Personality:
Zoro has quite the paradoxal personality. Most of the time he has a serious, stoical attitude, but then suddenly he can start goofing off and begins to talk about weird stuff while still having that serious look on his face. For instance when he saw several enemies drown he said they looked like jellyfish. Overall he has a very strong-willed and determined personality, especially when training and fighting, but when he is not doing those he's a real laid-back character. He often naps against a tree or wall while having his swords besides him along with a bottle of sake and is rarely worried about anything. Even in extremely dangerous and often messed up situations he keeps his stoic appearence and "leaves it to luck". In combat however his character changes drastically. His normal stoic, serious face gets replaced by a grin drenched with excitement. He loves to battle, not necessarily to kill, though he wouldn't hesitate a second if he had to nor would he give it much thought if he did kill someone without a reason, he just deems that as part of the battle. During battle he often shows some real maniacal habits like
"You want to kill me?! You couldn't even kill my boredom!!!"
running his own tongue down one of his swords, licking his own blood and above all a smile filled with menace.
Nontheless in wich situation he is, he always keeps his guard up, even when he's acting goofy or when he's supposedly sleeping. He never underestimates an opponent and he doesn't get easily riled up by mockery or insults, at least not in serious situations. In the rare case someone says or does something that really pisses him off or when he faces an opponent to whom he needs to go all out, the look in his eyes changes to that of some demonic-like creature. Combine this with the scar over his closed eye, his black bandana when he's wearing it and his bloodstained swords he truuly looks like a demon that emits a murderous killing aura. He often gets described as being a beast, a demon, a monster or even the Grim Reaper himself when he's like that. Even though he looks like he lost control, he's focused solely on the battle. In this state his strength, speed and stamina reach their maximum potential. He can often make people shit bricks just by a single glare. He always tries to finish a fight as quickly as possible and he never plays around with his opponents, he deems that just a waste of his time.
Even though he acts stoical, he's always thinking and analysing his opponent and the situation, however in most cases he doesn't say anything about it unless it's really necessary, but when he does, it's always right on the mark. Zoro can be very cunning, is not easily impressed and completely fearless. He also has a great sense of pride as for instance he deems a scar on the back of a swordsman one of the most shameful things in existence. This also includes that he refuses to use things like that he's mortally wounded or doesn't have his feet anymore as a potential excuse to stop a fight.

The attack rapidly unsheathes, attacks once, and sheaths the sword again when the user is past the opponent. The attack itself consists only from one straight slash that attacks the part between the shoulders and chest, slashing so deep it makes the arm that was hit disfunctional and making the opponent bleed to death.
The technique is back-handed as opposed to from the waist with a standard grip on the sword. The slash is not completely full as the tip of the blade leaves the blade when the it slashes and then is put back into the scabbard.
Utilizing the speed of Ken Ki at it max and focusing it all in one slash it makes it nearly impossible to dodge block, unless the opponent itself has Ken Ki activated or has an extremely speedy technique. Even then it requirs certain skill to avoid it.
It's strong enough to cut through steel. Though Sharingans can follow the movement, it's still quite a predicament to dodge it.

Description: This technique does exactly the same as drawing a sword, only with your fist in the pocket of your pants. You push your fist against the inside of your pants and it pushes back + your backmuscles pull your pants back. The end result is a punch that's a lot stronger, due to the momentum that is build up from the draw, and faster than a normal punch. The punch is so fast the opponent can't even see the user moving his fist from his pocket and back in it. It looks like he's just standing there. Sharingans can easily follow the movement though.
By adding chakra to the fist the strenght of it is increased and by adding chakra to the joints of the arm the draw gets more flexible. Global seen the punch isn't dangerous, but it can crush people's throats and make weaker people lose consciousness. The fist can be drawn multiple times and, due to the speed, can deflect small projectiles.

Background Info
History:
The life of Zoro has a tragic start. He was found some hours after the attack of Uchiha Madara and the Kyuubi on Konoha, on a very small path in the woods when the sun started to rise, while an ANBU squad was searching for survivors of the attack. He was covered in blood, branches and leaves, but he was still peacefully sleeping, however all the people who were with him were killed. The shinobi thought they probably had encountered the Nine-tailed Fox just before it attacked Konoha and that he surprised them in their sleep as they were clearly shinobi too. The leader of the squad decided to take the child, who was almost three years old, with him and to raise it as his own because the baby reminded him of his own son, who was killed during a raid at the time of the Third Shinobi World War. But what he found odd was that the shinobi were clearly not from Konoha and, instead of village headbands, each one of them had a similar tattoo, including the baby.
Back in Konoha the ninja, who took care of the baby, started to search in the Konoha library for information about the origin of the baby, to which clan he could belong too. Eventually he found it in a century old book, by searching for the meaning of the tattoos, that he belonged to a very ancient clan that was considered to be one of the strongest clans there was, outside the Uchiha and the Senju clan. However during the time before the hidden villages came into existence the numbers of the clan had already been dwindling for generations and in the present time they were considered nearly extinct as a clan. Only a handful of people remained, but they lead a nomad existence, travelling throughout the Land of Fire and the surrounding countries. Even though they were low in numbers, their skills were still highely praised, especially that one with the sword. After all they had been refining their battle skills and training methods for centuries, at a certain point their tattoos were even considered and omen of the Grim Reaper himself as that when you would lay your eyes upon them, you would be sliced to ribbons few moments later. The ninja thought that the group of the baby could be very well the last of the clan. But close after the ninja made this discovery, tragedy struck yet again. He was killed during an S-ranked mission. Because of the recent Fox attack, the village was continuously under siege of the other shinobi nations and as a result many risks were taken to protect the village. Again the baby, who still didn't had a name, was alone.
The ANBU squad leader had a very good friend, named Koshiro. He was a former Konoha shinobi who was hailed as the greatest black -and swordsmith and swordsman of his time. He knew smithing techniques and skills that no one else had knowledge of, because they were taught only from the master to one pupil. It was even told that his master's master forged the great Samehada-sword. However Koshiro had left Konoha a long time ago because he was tired of the endless shinobi wars and travelled across the East Blue sea, where the ninja world is located, to an island far away to a town called Shimotsuki village. There he founded the Isshin dojo to bring his knowledge about swords into the next era, far away from the influence of the shinobi. When he heard about the death of his friend, he travelled all the way back to Konoha to pick up the baby, not only because it had nowhere else to go, but because he was well aware of the baby's swordsman legacy. He deemed the baby as his potential successor.
Koshiro more or less adopted the baby and decided to name him Roronoa Zoro. Soon after that he left again, travelling all the way back to Shimotsuki Village, which was a long and dangerous road, especially with little Zoro. That's why he decided to teach him not only the Way of the Sword, but als the Way of the Shinobi, even though he still wanted to avoid too much influence of the standard shinobi attitude as it could influence his sword skills, which should remain voided of such things. He taught Zoro a large variety of jutsu's, elements and fighting techniques throughout the course of the years, he especially showed a strong affinity towards the fire and earth elements, which would be ideal for a blacksmith. The journey took a lot longer than expected, especially because Zoro had the weird tendency to get even lost on a straight road, but eventually they made it to the Village in one piece.
By now Zoro already had some experience with a shinai, a Japanese kendo sword made out of bamboo, and with that he received a bit of a cocky attitude as after just setting a single foot inside the dojo he instantly challenged it for its sign. His opponent was Kuina, Koshiro's daughter, who was a few years older than Zoro. Even though he used two shinai, Zoro got utterly defeated. He didn't hate Kuina for his defeat, it was more like hated himself for being so weak. Zoro vouched he would beat her and from that moment on he started to train like a wild beast, every day harder and harder and he kept on challenging Kuina, but kept on losing. Even when he was able to defeat the adults of the dojo, he couldn't even beat her a single time and after each loss he increased his training regime. Eventually the score was 2000 victories for Kuina and 0 for Zoro. So after his 2000th defeat he challenged her for a private match with real swords, but even with two real swords he suffered his 2001th defeat at her hands. He was crying in frustration as he said it was his dream to become the world's greatest swordsman, but he kept on losing to her, even after all his Spartan-like training. Kuina said then that they shared the same dream, however because she was girl her potential would drop when her body would mature and so she would never be able to obtain her dream. This defeatist attitude, even though she was the winner, pissed Zoro off as it made him look like a fool because he trained so hard to beat her, so when he finally would be able to do that he wanted it to be due to him being more skilled and not because she was a girl. Then the two made a promise, that one of them must become the world's best swordsman. The next day Kuina died. She fell from the stairs when she wanted to sharpen her sword and broke her neck.
Zoro was devastated, but he vouched that he would do her share of training too to become a swordsman whose name even would reach the Heavens itself. The result of this was that he developed his legendary Santouryuu swordstyle as because he wasn't able to beat Kuina with two swords, he would do it with three. The third sword, which he would hold in his mouth, symbolized both their dreams of becoming the best swordsman in the world. For the next 8 years Zoro trained and refined his ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu and above all his skill with the sword. On top of that he learned all there was to know about metal working. In this period of his life he travelled with with his sensei several times back to Konoha and other far away places. Eventually they ended up in a region far to the west of the shinobi world, completely voided of shinobi and the like. It was once called Middle-Earth and contained very advanced civilizations in a long forgotten past, but now there were only some farmers with lifestock left.
It was on a large island before the coast of this territory, on the top of the highest mountain (the Meneltarma), that the old man did something when the boy was 16 years old. At dawn the old man injected a poison into Zoro's body and he started to hallucinate. Everything became pitch-black and he didn't had any sense about space nor time, it became all irrelevant. But then a person appeared who was identical to Zoro, in both looks and skill, and he attacked him without any kind of hesitation. For 13 days the two fought without drinking, eating or resting...only fighting with their bare hands. At dusk of the 13th day Zoro finally overpowered the person and he disappeared, along with the darkness. He found himself on a cliff somewhere halfway on the mountain with behind him a trail of shattered rocks covered in blood. His cloths were ripped and he was injured heavily all over his body.
Koshiro came to Zoro and said that this was a ritual that always had been preformed on the moment when the master teaches his last lesson to the pupil, who then steps on the path of becoming a master himself. Back on the top of the mountain Zoro started straight away with forging his own swords without any help from his sensei. For the entire night he hammered on the metal, heating and cooling it down time after time, without taking a break under the light of the full moon. During the process his blood fell of his head and arms and poured into the metal that got hammered, and by that also a piece of his spirit and body got sucked into the blade. Just before dawn the sword was ready and he held it high, embracing the last rays of the moon. This is how it got its name "Isilnë", meaning Howling Moon. He started directly after that with the forging of another sword following the exact same process. However this sword embraced the rays of the sun and was given the name "Hanara", meaning Raging Sun. The only difference between the 2 swords was the color of the hilt and crest. One is gold with red(sun) and the other one is silver and black(moon). The swords were made from the most strongest, lightest and rarest materials in the world: Mithril and Adamant, making them extremely durable. And due to the blood bond, only Zoro could wield them, no one else. It was also at this point he was given the epithet "Andúril". Koshiro heard about it in a local myth. It was the name of the sword of a legendary king of old, who once saved the world, which name means "Flame of the West".
The old man had not eaten for days, because he watched the fight of Zoro and how he was forging the swords. This put an enormous strain on his aging body. So after this he and Zoro travelled for one last time together back to Shimotsuki Village where his sensei would spend the rest of his life training students in the dojo. Just before Zoro left to go on his own, personal journey Koshiro gave him as a parting gift the sword "Wado Ichimonji", meaning "The Straight Path of Harmony". This sword originally belonged to Kuina and thus embodied both their dreams. This beautiful, white, serene katana was made centuries ago by the first smith of this long line of gifted smiths and was a Meito, meaning that this sword had a history and was of legendary status. The blade of a Meito is normally a quality blade which stands out above all other swords in its endurance and sharpness. More precisely Wado was one of the 21 O Wazamono Grade Swords, which clearly indicated its status and quality as a katana. This is the sword Zoro always holds in his mouth when using Santouryuu. After this last parting gift he went to Kuina's grave to say a last prayer and then began his journey following his own path to fulfil his dream.

Ippon first refused as every owner of that sword had died and he didn't want to feel responsible. Zoro then tried his luck versus the sword’s curse. He threw the sword into the air and stretched his arm out. Ippon nearly crapped his pants, but the sword completely rotated around Zoro’s arm and silently pierced the floor all the way up to the guard. Ippon was so impressed that there was still someone alive who had the believe of “the sword chooses its wielder” and gave the sword, Yubashiri, and another sword for free. It was said that the curse was the result of a demon who wielded the sword centuries ago and sealed his chakra in it. After that Zoro went into the Grand Line.
They had numerous adventures on the Grand Line and their crew expanded the further they went down that sea. Tony Tony Chopper (a tanuki that looks like a reindeer, maybe from a clan that uses raccoons instead of dogs?), Franky the Shipwright, Nico Robin the Archeologist and Brook (he looks like a skeleton, probably a Kaguya) the Musician all joined the Strawhat Pirates. After that journey the Strawhat Pirate crew disbanded itself and Zoro returned back to Konoha. When he walked through the gate it was clear with one gaze of his diabolical eyes: this man’s skill with the sword really had surpassed all and he truly became the best swordsman in the world. Just seeing him passing through that gate could make you give up on your life. So menacing was the aura he emitted. The epithet, that was given to him on that moment, really hit the mark: Zoro of the Abyssal Sword. Seeing that warmongering demon drawing his sword would make fall any man into an abyss of death and despair.
Back in Konoha the ninja, who took care of the baby, started to search in the Konoha library for information about the origin of the baby, to which clan he could belong too. Eventually he found it in a century old book, by searching for the meaning of the tattoos, that he belonged to a very ancient clan that was considered to be one of the strongest clans there was, outside the Uchiha and the Senju clan. However during the time before the hidden villages came into existence the numbers of the clan had already been dwindling for generations and in the present time they were considered nearly extinct as a clan. Only a handful of people remained, but they lead a nomad existence, travelling throughout the Land of Fire and the surrounding countries. Even though they were low in numbers, their skills were still highely praised, especially that one with the sword. After all they had been refining their battle skills and training methods for centuries, at a certain point their tattoos were even considered and omen of the Grim Reaper himself as that when you would lay your eyes upon them, you would be sliced to ribbons few moments later. The ninja thought that the group of the baby could be very well the last of the clan. But close after the ninja made this discovery, tragedy struck yet again. He was killed during an S-ranked mission. Because of the recent Fox attack, the village was continuously under siege of the other shinobi nations and as a result many risks were taken to protect the village. Again the baby, who still didn't had a name, was alone.The ANBU squad leader had a very good friend, named Koshiro. He was a former Konoha shinobi who was hailed as the greatest black -and swordsmith and swordsman of his time. He knew smithing techniques and skills that no one else had knowledge of, because they were taught only from the master to one pupil. It was even told that his master's master forged the great Samehada-sword. However Koshiro had left Konoha a long time ago because he was tired of the endless shinobi wars and travelled across the East Blue sea, where the ninja world is located, to an island far away to a town called Shimotsuki village. There he founded the Isshin dojo to bring his knowledge about swords into the next era, far away from the influence of the shinobi. When he heard about the death of his friend, he travelled all the way back to Konoha to pick up the baby, not only because it had nowhere else to go, but because he was well aware of the baby's swordsman legacy. He deemed the baby as his potential successor.
Koshiro more or less adopted the baby and decided to name him Roronoa Zoro. Soon after that he left again, travelling all the way back to Shimotsuki Village, which was a long and dangerous road, especially with little Zoro. That's why he decided to teach him not only the Way of the Sword, but als the Way of the Shinobi, even though he still wanted to avoid too much influence of the standard shinobi attitude as it could influence his sword skills, which should remain voided of such things. He taught Zoro a large variety of jutsu's, elements and fighting techniques throughout the course of the years, he especially showed a strong affinity towards the fire and earth elements, which would be ideal for a blacksmith. The journey took a lot longer than expected, especially because Zoro had the weird tendency to get even lost on a straight road, but eventually they made it to the Village in one piece.
By now Zoro already had some experience with a shinai, a Japanese kendo sword made out of bamboo, and with that he received a bit of a cocky attitude as after just setting a single foot inside the dojo he instantly challenged it for its sign. His opponent was Kuina, Koshiro's daughter, who was a few years older than Zoro. Even though he used two shinai, Zoro got utterly defeated. He didn't hate Kuina for his defeat, it was more like hated himself for being so weak. Zoro vouched he would beat her and from that moment on he started to train like a wild beast, every day harder and harder and he kept on challenging Kuina, but kept on losing. Even when he was able to defeat the adults of the dojo, he couldn't even beat her a single time and after each loss he increased his training regime. Eventually the score was 2000 victories for Kuina and 0 for Zoro. So after his 2000th defeat he challenged her for a private match with real swords, but even with two real swords he suffered his 2001th defeat at her hands. He was crying in frustration as he said it was his dream to become the world's greatest swordsman, but he kept on losing to her, even after all his Spartan-like training. Kuina said then that they shared the same dream, however because she was girl her potential would drop when her body would mature and so she would never be able to obtain her dream. This defeatist attitude, even though she was the winner, pissed Zoro off as it made him look like a fool because he trained so hard to beat her, so when he finally would be able to do that he wanted it to be due to him being more skilled and not because she was a girl. Then the two made a promise, that one of them must become the world's best swordsman. The next day Kuina died. She fell from the stairs when she wanted to sharpen her sword and broke her neck.
Zoro was devastated, but he vouched that he would do her share of training too to become a swordsman whose name even would reach the Heavens itself. The result of this was that he developed his legendary Santouryuu swordstyle as because he wasn't able to beat Kuina with two swords, he would do it with three. The third sword, which he would hold in his mouth, symbolized both their dreams of becoming the best swordsman in the world. For the next 8 years Zoro trained and refined his ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu and above all his skill with the sword. On top of that he learned all there was to know about metal working. In this period of his life he travelled with with his sensei several times back to Konoha and other far away places. Eventually they ended up in a region far to the west of the shinobi world, completely voided of shinobi and the like. It was once called Middle-Earth and contained very advanced civilizations in a long forgotten past, but now there were only some farmers with lifestock left.It was on a large island before the coast of this territory, on the top of the highest mountain (the Meneltarma), that the old man did something when the boy was 16 years old. At dawn the old man injected a poison into Zoro's body and he started to hallucinate. Everything became pitch-black and he didn't had any sense about space nor time, it became all irrelevant. But then a person appeared who was identical to Zoro, in both looks and skill, and he attacked him without any kind of hesitation. For 13 days the two fought without drinking, eating or resting...only fighting with their bare hands. At dusk of the 13th day Zoro finally overpowered the person and he disappeared, along with the darkness. He found himself on a cliff somewhere halfway on the mountain with behind him a trail of shattered rocks covered in blood. His cloths were ripped and he was injured heavily all over his body.
Koshiro came to Zoro and said that this was a ritual that always had been preformed on the moment when the master teaches his last lesson to the pupil, who then steps on the path of becoming a master himself. Back on the top of the mountain Zoro started straight away with forging his own swords without any help from his sensei. For the entire night he hammered on the metal, heating and cooling it down time after time, without taking a break under the light of the full moon. During the process his blood fell of his head and arms and poured into the metal that got hammered, and by that also a piece of his spirit and body got sucked into the blade. Just before dawn the sword was ready and he held it high, embracing the last rays of the moon. This is how it got its name "Isilnë", meaning Howling Moon. He started directly after that with the forging of another sword following the exact same process. However this sword embraced the rays of the sun and was given the name "Hanara", meaning Raging Sun. The only difference between the 2 swords was the color of the hilt and crest. One is gold with red(sun) and the other one is silver and black(moon). The swords were made from the most strongest, lightest and rarest materials in the world: Mithril and Adamant, making them extremely durable. And due to the blood bond, only Zoro could wield them, no one else. It was also at this point he was given the epithet "Andúril". Koshiro heard about it in a local myth. It was the name of the sword of a legendary king of old, who once saved the world, which name means "Flame of the West".

More precisely Wado was one of the 21 O Wazamono Grade Swords, which clearly indicated its status and quality as a katana. This is the sword Zoro always holds in his mouth when using Santouryuu. After this last parting gift he went to Kuina's grave to say a last prayer and then began his journey following his own path to fulfil his dream.

The blade itself is made from an indestructible material Adamant, wich gives it a silverwhite color and it has a mystical flowing Hamon. The scabbard is pitchblack, outside some bronzelike additions. Most of the time the katana was locked in its scabbard by chains the were stripped all around it because people were scared that its true power would be unleashed.
Yubashiri has a set of effects:
❖ The blade can change its temperature from extreme hot to extreme cold and it can do that instantly ❖
❖ The sword can be infused with all kinds of chakra ❖
❖ The sword is completely indestructible, it's immune to every kind of effect, climat or environment (wind, water, lava, poision etc) however this doesn't mean it can destroy everything (big difference) ❖
❖ Every jutsu that needs a sword to be used gets a +25 damage if preformed with Yubashiri ❖
❖ Acts like a lightning rod, it can completely nullify E-D rank lightning jutsu's. Higher lightning jutsu's still do normal damage, however Yubashiri directs some of it away, just enough to make the user survive if hit directly with one. Lightning based custom weapons have no effect at all ❖
