i swear i hate threads like this
minato was a special genius of his generation and became hokage at a young age and stop the 9 tails from raining destruction onto konoha of course he's better and smart....if he was alive mostly he would pawn tsunade and i know im not the only one that thinks that ether

Most of you mentioned Minato and at first I would've also jumped straight to say Minato as well, but I've been really thinking about this. We cannot say would've mastered Sage Mode, only a select few get to do this training and with Naruto it was a special case. If Minato wanted to do Sage art he would have done it when he was alive, so I'm excluding that he "would've had Sage Mode thing".
Now hypothetically speaking, if Minato did not fight or failed to destroy Pain, would he have saved as much people as Tsunade saved when the blast went off? I don't think so.
Tsunade had her slugs protecting and healing multiple people at once, Minato wouldn't be able to do that. Although he would probably fight Pain since he is stronger than Tsunade, but what if he failed? He wouldn't be able to save not even one person.
Saying Minato would have "Pawned" all the Pains is an assumption. Pain was pretty powerful, I think it would take a lot more than FTG.
Bottom line is, I don't know what Minato could have done and I don't know how the circumstances would have turned out obviously, but really think about it before you be quick to jump and say Minato of course would have done better.

Defeating the Pains, I would say Minato is better, but helping the village during the destruction I would say Tsunade handle the situation better then what Minato would have done. Really doesn't matter who is better as long as they risk their lives for the village.

because he could use the ftg to defeat everyone of nagatos jutsu, as well as kill them and take those metal "sticks" aout of their asses(lol, sticks in asses)
and then teleport to the location of nagato, after the sensors sense the chackra

i'll say their equal tsunade's strengh and medical nin-justu and minto's speed and rasengan would beast pain but tsunade is the third strongest person right after itachi and jiraya her strengh level is 35 minto isn't even on the top 5 kishimoto makes this site up

dude just shut up. Minato is 50x stronger than naruto was when he fought pain, he would have defeated the pains in an instant, when pain jumped up to destroy the village he could have just threw a kunai at pain and teleported and attacked him before he destroyed the village. Minato was the strongest hokage, he beat madara while he was alive and madara had control over pain so - Minato>Madara>Pain.
Minato was mad smart, and he could place tags with his hands, so he could have put a tag on the pains individually, not to mention he had the toad summoning's aslo.
Naruto only beat pain because of the 9 tails & hinata.
Threads like this i dont mind but its what the people say is what grates on my nerves.

also the databook is so so reliable ill tell you why: even ih Kishi makes it he gave Kakashi a 5 in ninjutsu now lets take Nagato for example his ninjutsu in comparison would score at least a few times higher than Kakashi but he has to give Nagato a 5 since thats the top
1. Some may say that Tsunade saved many ppl from the big ST yes true she is amazing and deserves to be a Hokage, she is extremely strong, but not enough to face Nagato
2. Minato is!
3. If Nagato decided to trash the place at the beginning Minato might have had a chance to save a few ppl with FTG Tsunade would watch
4. Tsunade could so many ppl because she had time to prepare Katsuyu and spread the slugs throughouth the village if Minato had that kind of time he would enihalate all the Paths before the big boom
so all in all Minato even though Tsunade did great!
face it no person slower than Minato has a chance against him ... sorry but if you think about it its true one touch is all he needs with most ppl the rest he can just disarm with FTG if he could transport the Kyubi im sure he can do it to techs or chakra or weapons
