If you read no other chapter of mine, at least read this one in it's entirty, this is probably my best and most important chapter in the entire series.
In a classroom of nearly fifty children, cheerful laughter and talking fills the room. The children enjoy themselves, until suddenly the blackboard at the front of the class explodes and a large ball of flames heads straight for the children. As the giant ball of fire heads towards them, it shapes itself into the face of a demon and lets out a demonic laugh. The children all yell and close their eyes. The moment they open them they find Tsubaki standing at the front of the class, with everything perfectly fine.
Tsubaki “Excellent job Ino, extra credit for you”
The others look over at Ino who simply sits at her desk reading a book, seemingly ignoring her instructor's compliment. The students then realize that they were caught in a genjutsu, cast by Tsubaki.
Tsubaki “As for the rest of you, you should have been studying at your desks instead of talking, and you should have been able to defend against that technique”
Ko “That's not fair sensei! You're the strongest genjutsu user in the whole village, even better then those Uchihas”
Kai “Hey don't insult my clan you idiot”
Ko “I'm not, I'm just saying sensei is better”
Tsubaki “That's enough you two. It doesn't matter how skilled I am in genjutsu, the fact of the matter is that jutsu the most basic level technique, genin level. Most of you are supposed to be graduating this year, and you're going to be tested on that specific jutsu. If you can't repel a simple D-ranked technique then how are you ever going to become real shinobi?”
Ino “She didn't even sneak in, she walked in the room and even made the seal for the jutsu, you idiots were too busy talking to even notice. If you had you would've been prepared”
Ko “Shut up Ino”
Tsubaki “One of your graduation requirements is going to be, basic defense against genjutsu. I already told you which jutsu I plan on using for the exams, you should take that into account.”
Shizuko “Hey Hina, you didn't fall for the jutsu, why didn't you tell sensei?”
Hina “(quietly) It's not really a big deal...”
Neji “Let her alone she never speaks up for herself”
Shizuko “Neji she's your cousin why can't you ever be nice to her”
Neji “It's not my job to be nice to her, it's to protect her and to make sure she becomes strong. If she doesn't want to speak up for herself then leave her be, she'll get it eventually”
Shizuko “Well why didn't you say anything, the technique didn't affect you either”
Neji “I don't need to say anything, who am I trying to impress. Before you say anything else, I choose not to say anything because I don't care, Hina doesn't want to draw attention to herself because she's shy. Being the heiress of our clan she's supposed to stand out, not me”
Tsubaki “Alright roll call...Hyuuga Hina and Neji”
Hina “(softly) Here”
Neji “Here”
Tsubaki “Kato Shizuko”
Shizuko “Here”
Tsubaki “Nara Shika”
Shika “Here”

Tsubaki “Yaminaka Ino”

After the roll call of the students Tsubaki begins her lesson, starting with the, in depth detail on genjutsu casting. Over an hour passes before class is dismissed and the shinobi leave from the room. As the children leave Shi enters the room.
Shi “Tsubaki-chan, don't forget about the meeting tomorrow about the graduation exams”
Tsubaki “Yes sensei”
Shi “You know, you don't have to keep calling me sensei, we're not master and student anymore, as a matter of fact you actually out rank me now...it's funny though, I can remember years ago when you were one of those little kids sitting at those desks”
Tsubaki “It's funny how time flies and changes things right (laughs). I won't forget”
Shi “Oh and Tsubaki-chan, one more thing, the Hokage wants to see you immediately”
Tsubaki “(whines) What?! I just had two meetings earlier today, I had to skip lunch to tutor a student, and I just had two classes back to back. I hope he's not sending me on another mission”
Shi “It's all part of the responsibility of being a shinobi of Konoha I'm afraid. The message said it was urgent so I wouldn't keep him waiting”
Tsubaki “(sighs) Fine, see you later sensei”
Tsubaki walks out the room holding her head as if she had a headache and heads over the the Hokage residence.
Prisoner “All bets in!”
Prisoner 2 “I bet a month's allowance on this fight”
The two prisoners begin going at each other demonstrating a fair skill in taijutsu. They grab hold of each other and bring each other to the ground. They begin wrestling on the ground and the one on top begins pounding his fist down left and right.
“Go for the neck!”
“Yeah the jugular, get the jugular!”
The shinobi on the bottom manages to release his left leg and wraps it around the other's neck and swing him onto the ground. He immediately gets on top and pounds his opponents stomach and face.
“Get his Ribs!”
“No the kidneys!”
As the prisoners cheer the guards begin pouring in and attempt to get through the large crowd and break up the fight. They're unable to get through the thick crowd of people, being pushed back by the barrier of people. Suddenly a shadow appears over the two fighters and they both stop and look up. The move from the middle of the court yard as Kagami leaps down with his hand coursing with lightning chakra. He lands in the center and places his hand down on the ground. A great surge of lightning shoots out from all directions, with Kagami standing at the radius. The two fighters, along with the other prisoners are electrocuted. The two fighters fall and so do many of the prisoners. Kagami stands up and grabs both shinobi fighters and drags them through the crowd. Everybody is still stunned from Kagami's jutsu and he simply remains unexpressed. Kagami hands the two shinobi to the guards.
Kagami “Here take them to the infirmary and then put them both in level A1 solitary. As for the rest of these idiots send them back into their cells”
Guard “Yes sir”
Another guard comes over to Kagami.
Guard 2 “Sir Hokage-sama has just sent for you, the message seems urgent”
Kagami “Are you sure you're going to be able to handle this by yourselves? You guys couldn't break up a simple fight”
Setsuna “Kagami, don't belittle your men like that”
Kagami turns around and sees Setsuna walking up behind him with four more shinobi guards with him.
Kagami “What are you doing here?”
Setsuna “I'm your relief little brother, now get out of here, unless you don't think I'll be able to handle myself”
Kagami “Idiot...fine I'm going”
Kagami walks towards the exit of the facility and heads to the Hokage's quarters.
Shisui “Successful if I do say so myself”
Mito “You're lucky that your mother taught you how to unlock the seal on your eyes at such a young age...she was a really gifted kunoichi. Most Uzumaki are unable to unlock seal”
Shisui “Mito-sama, how long did it take you?”
Tobirama “What makes you assume that Mito ever did?”
Shisui “Mito-sama is the best fuinjutsu specialist in all of Uzushio and Konoha, she sealed the Kyuubi inside of me, and the only people who could know how to do that have to have read the scriptures”
Mito “You're mother taught me, some years before you were born. I'm not sure anybody else in our clan knows how to read the scriptures besides the two of us.”
Tobirama “Well now that everything has been settled...Shisui I have to tell you the second part of your mission”
Shisui “Second part?”
Mito “Tobirama-sama...”
Two shinobi knock at the door of the Hokage's office and they're cleared to go in. Tsubaki and Kagami enter the room and join their comrade Shisui.
Tsubaki “Hokage-sama I hope that you haven't called to give me another mission I just...Shisui?!”
Kagami “I see you're back finally”
Tsubaki “It's been five years, I heard you were on a top-secret S-class mission but I had no idea that you would be gone for so long”
Kagami “Thought you were dead”
Shisui “(laughs) Sorry to have worried you guys, the mission was just...kind of long”
Kagami “So is this why you called us back here? To see Shisui?”
Miyagi “You don't sound too thrilled to see your teammate after five years Kagami”
Miyagi appears outside the window and enters the room and the entire, Team Miyagi is reunited again after five long years.
Tobirama “I actually called you all here for different things...Shisui wasn't even supposed to be back for another year, however according to Uzushio he finished early and was on his way back. I didn't plan for the four of you to all be hear today”
Tsubaki “So what's going on?”
Tobirama “Well I'll start with you two. Miyagi and Tsubaki I have a special mission I want you to do. I need you two to act as backup to squad 14. They've ran into some trouble with their mission in Sunagakure and need backup force to complete their mission. They're a few miles south east of Suna”
Miyagi “Alright we're on it, right Tsubaki-chan? (smiles)
Tsubaki “(sighs regrettably) Yeah...”
Tobirama “Kagami...I'm putting you in charge of the investigation of the murders of the four murders earlier this week”
Kagami “Why me?”
Tobirama “You're one of my most trusted shinobi Kagami...I would like it if you could lead this investigation so we can get to the bottom of this. I want you to take two squads to deal with the leads we have already”
Kagami “Fine I'll take care of it”
Kagami leaves the room and the only remaining shinobi in the room are Shisui, the Hokage and Mito.
Shisui “Now, Tobirama-sama...you said that you wanted to explain to me...a second part to my mission?”
Tobirama “Yes...There is a second part to your mission however what I was going to tell you, was to stay on standby. You are to rest before I call you, meaning no other missions, not even training. I don't want you to do anything strenuous until I call upon you. Until the second part of your mission comes you are to remain on rest do you understand?”
Mito gets a solemn look of sadness and guilt on her face and Tobirama looks serious. Shisui is confused by the amount of tension he feels in the room but doesn't say anything regarding it.
Shisui “Yes Tobirama-sama”
Tobirama dismisses the shinobi and he walks out of the room. A short moment after Shisui leaves the room Tobirama turns to his assistant and looks at her seriously.
Tobirama “Mito...this has to be done”
Mito “Yes...Tobirama-sama”
The inside conversation between the two is unknown, but is extremely ominous and it leaves a bad aura in the room.
? “You guys~”
?? “We know”
??? “I'll take care of them”
???? “You better not touch him”
??? “Yeah, I'm going to destroy our last hope for our clan, calm down”
The shinobi makes the tiger seal and suddenly a seal emerges on the trees behind them, revealing a chakra based trap.
Kagami “Watch it, it's a trap!”
Kagami leaps from his hiding spot as multiple explosions erupt and immediately kills three other shinobi, who were trailing the shinobi, along with Kagami. Two manage to survive (other then Kagami) and they're revealed. The shinobi then makes the snake seal and suddenly a seal forms above the three shinobi. Kagami looks up with his Sharingan and he manages to escape the trap. The seal widens around the two remaining shinobi and surrounds them in a seal based sphere and then it explodes, killing the two shinobi. Kagami takes out kunai and several shuriken and throws them at the four shinobi. One of them takes out a kunai of their own and deflects all projectiles. Suddenly four clones of Kagami leap down from the tress above the the four shinobi and engage them in combat. The four shinobi react quick and take down the clones with ease. Suddenly a lightning charged kunai goes flying towards one of the shinobi. They evade it quickly but before he could react, Kagami was right under him and he stabs him with a kunai. The shinobi turns out to be a log, revealing a substitution jutsu. The four shinobi then surround Kagami on the ground and Kagami stays on guard.
Kagami “I saw your eyes and your reactions to my attacks. Quit taking me for a fool and reveal yourselves Inabi, Yoshiro, and Tekka”
Inabi “Kid isn't stupid obviously (takes off hood)”
Yoshiro “(Takes off hood) Just because he figured us out doesn't mean he isn't stupid”
Tekka “He's pretty stupid for tracking us so poorly (takes off hood)
Kagami looks at the last shinobi who has yet to reveal himself.
Kagami “Show yourself!”
Yoshiro “Come on Setsuna he's going to figure it out eventually”
Kagami's eyes widen at the statement. As Setsuna takes off his hood he looks away from Kagami.
Kagami “Setsuna....what...what is going on here?!”
Setsuna “Kagami-kun...I'm sorry that you had to find out like this...you weren't meant to find out about this yet”
Kagami “What the hell is going on here, I've been trailing a lead and it lead me to these three but you...you're involved with this too?”
Inabi “Maybe he is stupid”
Setsuna “You're talking about the murders of the Senju right...We were investigating that as we~”
Kagami “Don't lie to me!! Tobirama-sama place me in charge this investigation! You better start answering”
Inabi “If you haven't noticed you're in no position to be demanding answers from nobody”
Setsuna “Kagami...it's time you know everything...Inabi, Yoshiro, Tekka, and I are part of an organization within the Uchiha clan...The goals of our organization is to restore the Uchihas to it's former glory by showing Konoha that we can be trusted again...We've been working to restore our image. Whoever did this is trying to slaughter our image and we're trying to clear our names.”
Kagami “All this time...if what you said to me is true...why would you hide this from me? I could helped!”
Setsuna “You were our last resort Kagami...you possess a special power, a special power that can only be unlocked through very sensitive means and I had to train you before you could get involved here in order to make sure you could control it. Inabi and the others...they wanted to use you right away, they wanted to use your power to bring glory to our clan even back then but I didn't want you to go through the intensity it would take to unlock such power. I didn't want you to partake until you were ready...I promised that I would take care of you and that's what I've done”
Kagami “So...when you told me to stay away from them”
Setsuna “I case they tried to recruit you before you were ready”
Kagami “And when you three said I was too important to our clan and then just left~”
Inabi “Our leaders were getting impatient with Setsuna keeping you from us and we tried to reveal this all to you sooner but you wouldn't shut up for a moment to let us. When Setsuna was on his way he had to split”
Kagami “So this power you say I have...What is it?”
Suddenly Kagami is struck on the back of the neck by a hooded figure and he's knocked out.
???? “That's all he needs to hear for now...Setsuna take him back to the village and rest him up”
Setsuna “What about the other shinobi?”
???? “We'll take care of that, just do as I say”
Setsuna nods his head and takes Kagami back to the village. The four remaining shinobi begin cleaning up the scene of the dead shinobi and the hooded figure turns to his followers.
???? “Did it go as planned?”
Inabi “Yeah, Setsuna stuck to the script just like we told him too”
Yoshiro “Kagami didn't notice my genjutsu...he thinks everything Setsuna said was the truth”
???? “As for the...other matter...with the Senju?”
Tekka “All the tracks lead to Setsuna...he doesn't know a thing about it.”
Inabi “You assumed correct. Tobirama put him on a false trail while his Anbu did snooping around the real evidence. You convinced Tobirama that Kagami might get to the investigation and find out Setsuna's 'involvement' and try and hide evidence”
Yoshiro “We made sure everything looked convincing enough to make it difficult for them to find the trail, but not too difficult where the Anbu shouldn't be able to find it...by tomorrow they should have the evidence they need to convict Setsuna”
???? “Excellent...Finish up here and make sure the preparations are ready for tomorrow...”
The morning after the entire incident Setsuna meets back up with Inabi and the others. The four hooded leaders of the underground Uchiha organization stand before Inabi, Yoshiro, and Tekka as Setsuna arrives.
? “How is the boy?”
Setsuna “He's fine, and I'm going to tell him the truth...the real truth. I can't take lying to him, and I know that he'll be able to find another way to unlock his powers, but I'm not going to lie to him anymore and I'm not going to let him fall into your trap. There is still hope for our clan to live peacefully with the Senju just like Izuna-sama believed”
?? “So you intend to defy us?!!”
??? “What makes you think we'll let you leave here alive after confessing that to us?”
Setsuna “Because I know your limits...all of you. You're all washed failures, shells of what you once used to be...and none of you are as strong as me (looks at them, revealing a Mangekyou Sharingan)
???? “Is that a fact?”
Inabi, Yoshiro, and Tekka activate their Sharingan the moment they look upon Setsuna's eyes.
Setsuna “The only reason you're after Kagami is because of his legacy and his family's power...you didn't even notice my power...I'm more then enough to take on all of you here and now, the powers I possess are greater then all of you combine. I won't let you tempt Kagami and I no longer am going to participate in this organization...if any of you try to harm Konoha, I'll come at you with full force.”
Inabi “When did he?!”
Yoshiro “It doesn't matter regardless of his eyes if we all fight him he can't~”
???? “Very well then, leave here Setsuna”
The three subordinates look at their hooded superiors in shock.
Inabi “But he has~”
? “The same eyes as Madara-sama and Izuna-sama.”
?? “No eyes could even compare to those...the fact that Setsuna bares in relation to them and has their power...we could not fight them”
??? “It is crucial for us continue our plans but right now Setsuna remains stubborn. We shall wait for another opportunity”
Setsuna “I won't give that to you”
???? “Kill us now Setsuna”
Everybody in the room reacts in shock to those words even the other three leaders.
Setsuna “Be careful for what you wish for”
???? “Kill us now...or else you shall fail in your endeavors.”
Setsuna “You underestimate my abilities”
???? “If you really want to prevent anything from happening to the village you'll kill every single one of us right here and now and you'll go to the others and do the same.”
Setsuna “No I won't because I still see redemption in your future. I don't need to, but I can at anytime. You underestimate my abilities and you overestimate your own. I don't need to kill you but if I even suspect anything I will without hesitation and without mercy”
Setsuna leaves the room and his former peers and leaders, exiting the organization. The three leaders and subordinates look at their other comrade, in shock as to why he said the things he said to Setsuna.
?? “Why would you say those things? Why would you provoke him the way you did?!”
??? “We knew of his abilities, we had everything all planned why did you?~”
???? “I thought we could use some entertainment...Setsuna's arrogance is absolutely hilarious, he is completely clueless to his situation. I knew that he wouldn't kill us. He's always been an idealistic arrogant fool, and soon he shall pay the price. Just because he has the greatest power of our clan, doesn't make him even comparable to Madara-sama and Izuna-sama”
Inabi “What do you mean you knew of his abilities?”
Yoshiro “If you knew...then why not use him instead of?~”
? “Know your place, don't question our methods”
???? “Setsuna was already tainted by the ideals of Izuna-sama...but Kagami was, and still is a clean slate. Setsuna has kept everything about Kagami's past a secret to him...all to our advantage. He has filled Kagami's head with his idealistic foolishness but Kagami still remains confused and unsure of himself...after everything falls into place now, Setsuna will no longer be a threat to us...and Kagami will fall to us indefinitely”
Tekka “But how?”
?? “The trap is set...We took care of the Senju...and with our knowledge of Setsuna, we left the evidence for you to plant, that lead to Setsuna...we mimicked a drastically lower level of his abilities, and despite them being too pale, only an Uchiha would be able to tell the difference.”
??? “If you've done your jobs as well as you claim, then you will see the results of our labor and you will see Setsuna fall”
Kagami “What the hell is going on?”
Inabi “It's Setsuna...he's been arrested by the Anbu”
Kagami “What?!”
Inabi “They're blaming him for the murders on the Senju and they've even given him the charge of conspiracy to assassinate the Hokage”
Kagami's eyes widen and he rushes out of the department and heads towards Hokage residence.
Kagami “*No...they've got it all wrong...Setsuna wouldn't do this...this is some sort of set up*”
Kagami gets to the residence and runs through the hall, he goes crashing into the room, startiling Mito and Misa.
Kagami “He's innocent!...huh?”
Kagami looks around and sees that Tobirama isn't in the room.
Misa “Kagami-senpai?”
Mito “Kagami...what are you doing here?”
Kagami “Where's Tobirama-sama, the investigation isn't finished, how did you guys conclude that Setsuna was...”
Mito “Kagami...you weren't supposed to~”
Kagami “This...this was all a lie...you sent me on a false trail...you thought it was Setsuna from the beginning, you thought that I would tamper with the evidence”
Mito “Kagami, let me explain we~”
Kagami “There's nothing to explain! You didn't trust me, neither you nor the Hokage, you both lied to me!”
Misa “Don't call my uncle a liar!”
Kagami looks at the child with a blazing rage and his Sharingan active. Misa's face darkens with fear and Mito steps in front of her.
Mito “Kagami just let me explain the situation”
Kagami “Setsuna's innocent...I know that for a fact, you have to believe me”
Kagami runs out of the room and when he gets outside he heads to the correctional facility of Konoha. A large crowd is outside and Kagami manages to push his way through. He sees Tobirama standing in front of Setsuna, who is bound by two Anbu soldiers in chains and two more standing in front of him on both sides. Kagami sees the blood and wounds on Setsuna, indicating a struggle.
Kagami “SETSUNA!!”
Tobirama “Restrain him!”
Three shinobi run towards Kagami and he activates his Sharingan. He takes down the three shinobi with ease, without killing them. Suddenly three chains wrap themselves around Kagami and they're reinforced with chakra, preventing him from moving. Three Anbu shinobi are seen holding the chains around him.
Kagami “Tobirama-sama you have to wait, please. Setsuna is innocent, he's not the one who committed these murders and he's not a conspirator against you”
Tobirama “Do you have any proof to what you say? Because there is a mountain of evidence against him”
Kagami “You just have to believe me?”
Tobirama “And why should I?”
Kagami's eyes widen as he remembers what Tobirama said to him, just a day before “You're one of my most trusted shinobi” Tobirama turns back to Setsuna.
Tobirama “Uchiha Setsuna, you stand accused of four counts of murder of your comrades of Konoha, as well as an assassination attempt in planning on my life, your leader. Do you have any evidence to your defense?”
Setsuna pants heavily as he looks at Kagami. Tears roll down Kagami's face as he looks at his cousin about to be struck down. A cousin, who was like a brother...no a father to him. Kagami knows that Setsuna wasn't involved but none believe him.
Tobirama “I take your silence as a no...As the crimes against you are treason to the highest degree, your punishment is death”
The two Anbu on either side of Setsuna get down on one knee, bowing to the Hokage and take out their katana. They take out their blades in a traditional manor, used in traditional execution procedures. Setsuna looks at Kagami with a solemn face.
Setsuna “Ka...gami...kun”
The two shinobi stab behind them and one strikes through Setsuna's heart and the other crosses and stabs through both his lungs. Setsuna's eyes are wide and as he coughs up a chunk of blood onto the back of one of the shinobi. Blood falls down the mouth and the wounds of Kagami and the Anbu who restrain him release him, and he falls to the ground.
Kagami “SETSUNA!!”
Kagami stands up and he struggles to break free. One of the shinobi knock him unconscious and Tobirama orders for Kagami to be locked up until he calms down. Tobirama leaves the correctional facility and heads back to his office. Setsuna is taken away and the crowd begins to walk away. In the background the four hooded shinobi are seen smiling. As a few walk in front of them the shinobi disappear.
Chapter 10: Transition: Descent into Darkness

Note: Skipped some students to avoid a long played out roll call. Students mentioned: Hina, Neji, Shizuko, Ko, Shika, Misa, Kai, and Ino play importance later in the series.
After the roll call of the students Tsubaki begins her lesson, starting with the, in depth detail on genjutsu casting. Over an hour passes before class is dismissed and the shinobi leave from the room. As the children leave Shi enters the room.
Shi “Tsubaki-chan, don't forget about the meeting tomorrow about the graduation exams”
Tsubaki “Yes sensei”
Shi “You know, you don't have to keep calling me sensei, we're not master and student anymore, as a matter of fact you actually out rank me now...it's funny though, I can remember years ago when you were one of those little kids sitting at those desks”
Tsubaki “It's funny how time flies and changes things right (laughs). I won't forget”
Shi “Oh and Tsubaki-chan, one more thing, the Hokage wants to see you immediately”
Tsubaki “(whines) What?! I just had two meetings earlier today, I had to skip lunch to tutor a student, and I just had two classes back to back. I hope he's not sending me on another mission”
Shi “It's all part of the responsibility of being a shinobi of Konoha I'm afraid. The message said it was urgent so I wouldn't keep him waiting”
Tsubaki “(sighs) Fine, see you later sensei”
Tsubaki walks out the room holding her head as if she had a headache and heads over the the Hokage residence.
At Konohagakure Maximum Security Facility
In the maximum security facility of Konoha there is a crowd of prisoners in a circle in the court yard chanting. They're surrounding a fight between two inmates. Prisoner “All bets in!”
Prisoner 2 “I bet a month's allowance on this fight”
The two prisoners begin going at each other demonstrating a fair skill in taijutsu. They grab hold of each other and bring each other to the ground. They begin wrestling on the ground and the one on top begins pounding his fist down left and right.
“Go for the neck!”
“Yeah the jugular, get the jugular!”
The shinobi on the bottom manages to release his left leg and wraps it around the other's neck and swing him onto the ground. He immediately gets on top and pounds his opponents stomach and face.
“Get his Ribs!”
“No the kidneys!”
As the prisoners cheer the guards begin pouring in and attempt to get through the large crowd and break up the fight. They're unable to get through the thick crowd of people, being pushed back by the barrier of people. Suddenly a shadow appears over the two fighters and they both stop and look up. The move from the middle of the court yard as Kagami leaps down with his hand coursing with lightning chakra. He lands in the center and places his hand down on the ground. A great surge of lightning shoots out from all directions, with Kagami standing at the radius. The two fighters, along with the other prisoners are electrocuted. The two fighters fall and so do many of the prisoners. Kagami stands up and grabs both shinobi fighters and drags them through the crowd. Everybody is still stunned from Kagami's jutsu and he simply remains unexpressed. Kagami hands the two shinobi to the guards.
Kagami “Here take them to the infirmary and then put them both in level A1 solitary. As for the rest of these idiots send them back into their cells”
Guard “Yes sir”
Another guard comes over to Kagami.
Guard 2 “Sir Hokage-sama has just sent for you, the message seems urgent”
Kagami “Are you sure you're going to be able to handle this by yourselves? You guys couldn't break up a simple fight”
Setsuna “Kagami, don't belittle your men like that”
Kagami turns around and sees Setsuna walking up behind him with four more shinobi guards with him.
Kagami “What are you doing here?”
Setsuna “I'm your relief little brother, now get out of here, unless you don't think I'll be able to handle myself”
Kagami “Idiot...fine I'm going”
Kagami walks towards the exit of the facility and heads to the Hokage's quarters.
At Hokage Residence
Tobirama “So how was the training?”Shisui “Successful if I do say so myself”
Mito “You're lucky that your mother taught you how to unlock the seal on your eyes at such a young age...she was a really gifted kunoichi. Most Uzumaki are unable to unlock seal”
Shisui “Mito-sama, how long did it take you?”
Tobirama “What makes you assume that Mito ever did?”
Shisui “Mito-sama is the best fuinjutsu specialist in all of Uzushio and Konoha, she sealed the Kyuubi inside of me, and the only people who could know how to do that have to have read the scriptures”
Mito “You're mother taught me, some years before you were born. I'm not sure anybody else in our clan knows how to read the scriptures besides the two of us.”
Tobirama “Well now that everything has been settled...Shisui I have to tell you the second part of your mission”
Shisui “Second part?”
Mito “Tobirama-sama...”
Two shinobi knock at the door of the Hokage's office and they're cleared to go in. Tsubaki and Kagami enter the room and join their comrade Shisui.
Tsubaki “Hokage-sama I hope that you haven't called to give me another mission I just...Shisui?!”
Kagami “I see you're back finally”
Tsubaki “It's been five years, I heard you were on a top-secret S-class mission but I had no idea that you would be gone for so long”
Kagami “Thought you were dead”
Shisui “(laughs) Sorry to have worried you guys, the mission was just...kind of long”
Kagami “So is this why you called us back here? To see Shisui?”
Miyagi “You don't sound too thrilled to see your teammate after five years Kagami”
Miyagi appears outside the window and enters the room and the entire, Team Miyagi is reunited again after five long years.
Tobirama “I actually called you all here for different things...Shisui wasn't even supposed to be back for another year, however according to Uzushio he finished early and was on his way back. I didn't plan for the four of you to all be hear today”
Tsubaki “So what's going on?”
Tobirama “Well I'll start with you two. Miyagi and Tsubaki I have a special mission I want you to do. I need you two to act as backup to squad 14. They've ran into some trouble with their mission in Sunagakure and need backup force to complete their mission. They're a few miles south east of Suna”
Miyagi “Alright we're on it, right Tsubaki-chan? (smiles)
Tsubaki “(sighs regrettably) Yeah...”
Tobirama “Kagami...I'm putting you in charge of the investigation of the murders of the four murders earlier this week”
Kagami “Why me?”
Tobirama “You're one of my most trusted shinobi Kagami...I would like it if you could lead this investigation so we can get to the bottom of this. I want you to take two squads to deal with the leads we have already”
Kagami “Fine I'll take care of it”
Kagami leaves the room and the only remaining shinobi in the room are Shisui, the Hokage and Mito.
Shisui “Now, Tobirama-sama...you said that you wanted to explain to me...a second part to my mission?”
Tobirama “Yes...There is a second part to your mission however what I was going to tell you, was to stay on standby. You are to rest before I call you, meaning no other missions, not even training. I don't want you to do anything strenuous until I call upon you. Until the second part of your mission comes you are to remain on rest do you understand?”
Mito gets a solemn look of sadness and guilt on her face and Tobirama looks serious. Shisui is confused by the amount of tension he feels in the room but doesn't say anything regarding it.
Shisui “Yes Tobirama-sama”
Tobirama dismisses the shinobi and he walks out of the room. A short moment after Shisui leaves the room Tobirama turns to his assistant and looks at her seriously.
Tobirama “Mito...this has to be done”
Mito “Yes...Tobirama-sama”
The inside conversation between the two is unknown, but is extremely ominous and it leaves a bad aura in the room.
Late Night
At night, in Konoha four hooded shinobi leap through the trees outside the village. ? “You guys~”
?? “We know”
??? “I'll take care of them”
???? “You better not touch him”
??? “Yeah, I'm going to destroy our last hope for our clan, calm down”
The shinobi makes the tiger seal and suddenly a seal emerges on the trees behind them, revealing a chakra based trap.
Kagami “Watch it, it's a trap!”
Kagami leaps from his hiding spot as multiple explosions erupt and immediately kills three other shinobi, who were trailing the shinobi, along with Kagami. Two manage to survive (other then Kagami) and they're revealed. The shinobi then makes the snake seal and suddenly a seal forms above the three shinobi. Kagami looks up with his Sharingan and he manages to escape the trap. The seal widens around the two remaining shinobi and surrounds them in a seal based sphere and then it explodes, killing the two shinobi. Kagami takes out kunai and several shuriken and throws them at the four shinobi. One of them takes out a kunai of their own and deflects all projectiles. Suddenly four clones of Kagami leap down from the tress above the the four shinobi and engage them in combat. The four shinobi react quick and take down the clones with ease. Suddenly a lightning charged kunai goes flying towards one of the shinobi. They evade it quickly but before he could react, Kagami was right under him and he stabs him with a kunai. The shinobi turns out to be a log, revealing a substitution jutsu. The four shinobi then surround Kagami on the ground and Kagami stays on guard.
Kagami “I saw your eyes and your reactions to my attacks. Quit taking me for a fool and reveal yourselves Inabi, Yoshiro, and Tekka”
Inabi “Kid isn't stupid obviously (takes off hood)”
Yoshiro “(Takes off hood) Just because he figured us out doesn't mean he isn't stupid”
Tekka “He's pretty stupid for tracking us so poorly (takes off hood)
Kagami looks at the last shinobi who has yet to reveal himself.
Kagami “Show yourself!”
Yoshiro “Come on Setsuna he's going to figure it out eventually”
Kagami's eyes widen at the statement. As Setsuna takes off his hood he looks away from Kagami.
Kagami “Setsuna....what...what is going on here?!”
Setsuna “Kagami-kun...I'm sorry that you had to find out like this...you weren't meant to find out about this yet”
Kagami “What the hell is going on here, I've been trailing a lead and it lead me to these three but you...you're involved with this too?”
Inabi “Maybe he is stupid”
Setsuna “You're talking about the murders of the Senju right...We were investigating that as we~”
Kagami “Don't lie to me!! Tobirama-sama place me in charge this investigation! You better start answering”
Inabi “If you haven't noticed you're in no position to be demanding answers from nobody”
Setsuna “Kagami...it's time you know everything...Inabi, Yoshiro, Tekka, and I are part of an organization within the Uchiha clan...The goals of our organization is to restore the Uchihas to it's former glory by showing Konoha that we can be trusted again...We've been working to restore our image. Whoever did this is trying to slaughter our image and we're trying to clear our names.”
Kagami “All this time...if what you said to me is true...why would you hide this from me? I could helped!”
Setsuna “You were our last resort Kagami...you possess a special power, a special power that can only be unlocked through very sensitive means and I had to train you before you could get involved here in order to make sure you could control it. Inabi and the others...they wanted to use you right away, they wanted to use your power to bring glory to our clan even back then but I didn't want you to go through the intensity it would take to unlock such power. I didn't want you to partake until you were ready...I promised that I would take care of you and that's what I've done”
Kagami “So...when you told me to stay away from them”
Setsuna “I case they tried to recruit you before you were ready”
Kagami “And when you three said I was too important to our clan and then just left~”
Inabi “Our leaders were getting impatient with Setsuna keeping you from us and we tried to reveal this all to you sooner but you wouldn't shut up for a moment to let us. When Setsuna was on his way he had to split”
Kagami “So this power you say I have...What is it?”
Suddenly Kagami is struck on the back of the neck by a hooded figure and he's knocked out.
???? “That's all he needs to hear for now...Setsuna take him back to the village and rest him up”
Setsuna “What about the other shinobi?”
???? “We'll take care of that, just do as I say”
Setsuna nods his head and takes Kagami back to the village. The four remaining shinobi begin cleaning up the scene of the dead shinobi and the hooded figure turns to his followers.
???? “Did it go as planned?”
Inabi “Yeah, Setsuna stuck to the script just like we told him too”
Yoshiro “Kagami didn't notice my genjutsu...he thinks everything Setsuna said was the truth”
???? “As for the...other matter...with the Senju?”
Tekka “All the tracks lead to Setsuna...he doesn't know a thing about it.”
Inabi “You assumed correct. Tobirama put him on a false trail while his Anbu did snooping around the real evidence. You convinced Tobirama that Kagami might get to the investigation and find out Setsuna's 'involvement' and try and hide evidence”
Yoshiro “We made sure everything looked convincing enough to make it difficult for them to find the trail, but not too difficult where the Anbu shouldn't be able to find it...by tomorrow they should have the evidence they need to convict Setsuna”
???? “Excellent...Finish up here and make sure the preparations are ready for tomorrow...”
The morning after the entire incident Setsuna meets back up with Inabi and the others. The four hooded leaders of the underground Uchiha organization stand before Inabi, Yoshiro, and Tekka as Setsuna arrives.
? “How is the boy?”
Setsuna “He's fine, and I'm going to tell him the truth...the real truth. I can't take lying to him, and I know that he'll be able to find another way to unlock his powers, but I'm not going to lie to him anymore and I'm not going to let him fall into your trap. There is still hope for our clan to live peacefully with the Senju just like Izuna-sama believed”
?? “So you intend to defy us?!!”
??? “What makes you think we'll let you leave here alive after confessing that to us?”
Setsuna “Because I know your limits...all of you. You're all washed failures, shells of what you once used to be...and none of you are as strong as me (looks at them, revealing a Mangekyou Sharingan)
???? “Is that a fact?”
Inabi, Yoshiro, and Tekka activate their Sharingan the moment they look upon Setsuna's eyes.
Setsuna “The only reason you're after Kagami is because of his legacy and his family's power...you didn't even notice my power...I'm more then enough to take on all of you here and now, the powers I possess are greater then all of you combine. I won't let you tempt Kagami and I no longer am going to participate in this organization...if any of you try to harm Konoha, I'll come at you with full force.”
Inabi “When did he?!”
Yoshiro “It doesn't matter regardless of his eyes if we all fight him he can't~”
???? “Very well then, leave here Setsuna”
The three subordinates look at their hooded superiors in shock.
Inabi “But he has~”
? “The same eyes as Madara-sama and Izuna-sama.”
?? “No eyes could even compare to those...the fact that Setsuna bares in relation to them and has their power...we could not fight them”
??? “It is crucial for us continue our plans but right now Setsuna remains stubborn. We shall wait for another opportunity”
Setsuna “I won't give that to you”
???? “Kill us now Setsuna”
Everybody in the room reacts in shock to those words even the other three leaders.
Setsuna “Be careful for what you wish for”
???? “Kill us now...or else you shall fail in your endeavors.”
Setsuna “You underestimate my abilities”
???? “If you really want to prevent anything from happening to the village you'll kill every single one of us right here and now and you'll go to the others and do the same.”
Setsuna “No I won't because I still see redemption in your future. I don't need to, but I can at anytime. You underestimate my abilities and you overestimate your own. I don't need to kill you but if I even suspect anything I will without hesitation and without mercy”
Setsuna leaves the room and his former peers and leaders, exiting the organization. The three leaders and subordinates look at their other comrade, in shock as to why he said the things he said to Setsuna.
?? “Why would you say those things? Why would you provoke him the way you did?!”
??? “We knew of his abilities, we had everything all planned why did you?~”
???? “I thought we could use some entertainment...Setsuna's arrogance is absolutely hilarious, he is completely clueless to his situation. I knew that he wouldn't kill us. He's always been an idealistic arrogant fool, and soon he shall pay the price. Just because he has the greatest power of our clan, doesn't make him even comparable to Madara-sama and Izuna-sama”
Inabi “What do you mean you knew of his abilities?”
Yoshiro “If you knew...then why not use him instead of?~”
? “Know your place, don't question our methods”
???? “Setsuna was already tainted by the ideals of Izuna-sama...but Kagami was, and still is a clean slate. Setsuna has kept everything about Kagami's past a secret to him...all to our advantage. He has filled Kagami's head with his idealistic foolishness but Kagami still remains confused and unsure of himself...after everything falls into place now, Setsuna will no longer be a threat to us...and Kagami will fall to us indefinitely”
Tekka “But how?”
?? “The trap is set...We took care of the Senju...and with our knowledge of Setsuna, we left the evidence for you to plant, that lead to Setsuna...we mimicked a drastically lower level of his abilities, and despite them being too pale, only an Uchiha would be able to tell the difference.”
??? “If you've done your jobs as well as you claim, then you will see the results of our labor and you will see Setsuna fall”
Several Hours Pass
Kagami is in the KMPD headquarters when the entire department begins going out of control. Several shinobi are running out of the department and the Uchihas in the department are in an outrage. Kagami heads to Inabi who walks in.Kagami “What the hell is going on?”
Inabi “It's Setsuna...he's been arrested by the Anbu”
Kagami “What?!”
Inabi “They're blaming him for the murders on the Senju and they've even given him the charge of conspiracy to assassinate the Hokage”
Kagami's eyes widen and he rushes out of the department and heads towards Hokage residence.
Kagami “*No...they've got it all wrong...Setsuna wouldn't do this...this is some sort of set up*”
Kagami gets to the residence and runs through the hall, he goes crashing into the room, startiling Mito and Misa.
Kagami “He's innocent!...huh?”
Kagami looks around and sees that Tobirama isn't in the room.
Misa “Kagami-senpai?”
Mito “Kagami...what are you doing here?”
Kagami “Where's Tobirama-sama, the investigation isn't finished, how did you guys conclude that Setsuna was...”
Mito “Kagami...you weren't supposed to~”
Kagami “This...this was all a lie...you sent me on a false trail...you thought it was Setsuna from the beginning, you thought that I would tamper with the evidence”
Mito “Kagami, let me explain we~”
Kagami “There's nothing to explain! You didn't trust me, neither you nor the Hokage, you both lied to me!”
Misa “Don't call my uncle a liar!”
Kagami looks at the child with a blazing rage and his Sharingan active. Misa's face darkens with fear and Mito steps in front of her.
Mito “Kagami just let me explain the situation”
Kagami “Setsuna's innocent...I know that for a fact, you have to believe me”
Kagami runs out of the room and when he gets outside he heads to the correctional facility of Konoha. A large crowd is outside and Kagami manages to push his way through. He sees Tobirama standing in front of Setsuna, who is bound by two Anbu soldiers in chains and two more standing in front of him on both sides. Kagami sees the blood and wounds on Setsuna, indicating a struggle.
Kagami “SETSUNA!!”
Tobirama “Restrain him!”
Three shinobi run towards Kagami and he activates his Sharingan. He takes down the three shinobi with ease, without killing them. Suddenly three chains wrap themselves around Kagami and they're reinforced with chakra, preventing him from moving. Three Anbu shinobi are seen holding the chains around him.
Kagami “Tobirama-sama you have to wait, please. Setsuna is innocent, he's not the one who committed these murders and he's not a conspirator against you”
Tobirama “Do you have any proof to what you say? Because there is a mountain of evidence against him”
Kagami “You just have to believe me?”
Tobirama “And why should I?”
Kagami's eyes widen as he remembers what Tobirama said to him, just a day before “You're one of my most trusted shinobi” Tobirama turns back to Setsuna.
Tobirama “Uchiha Setsuna, you stand accused of four counts of murder of your comrades of Konoha, as well as an assassination attempt in planning on my life, your leader. Do you have any evidence to your defense?”
Setsuna pants heavily as he looks at Kagami. Tears roll down Kagami's face as he looks at his cousin about to be struck down. A cousin, who was like a brother...no a father to him. Kagami knows that Setsuna wasn't involved but none believe him.
Tobirama “I take your silence as a no...As the crimes against you are treason to the highest degree, your punishment is death”
The two Anbu on either side of Setsuna get down on one knee, bowing to the Hokage and take out their katana. They take out their blades in a traditional manor, used in traditional execution procedures. Setsuna looks at Kagami with a solemn face.
Setsuna “Ka...gami...kun”
The two shinobi stab behind them and one strikes through Setsuna's heart and the other crosses and stabs through both his lungs. Setsuna's eyes are wide and as he coughs up a chunk of blood onto the back of one of the shinobi. Blood falls down the mouth and the wounds of Kagami and the Anbu who restrain him release him, and he falls to the ground.
Kagami “SETSUNA!!”
Kagami stands up and he struggles to break free. One of the shinobi knock him unconscious and Tobirama orders for Kagami to be locked up until he calms down. Tobirama leaves the correctional facility and heads back to his office. Setsuna is taken away and the crowd begins to walk away. In the background the four hooded shinobi are seen smiling. As a few walk in front of them the shinobi disappear.
