The taste of an ice cold beer on a hot summer day is priceless to me. mmmm.... Also, I'm a big fan of red wine, and I love going to specialist shops to try out the new produce from different corners of the world. I live in a cold, northern country, and we cannot produce much nice grapes, so I envy people from southern areas who can get it fresh from the vineyard.
I'm not so young anymore, but when I was 15 I drank to get drunk. Pissed, in fact. It was exciting, because I was very shy and insecure at the time, and it helped me come out of my shell a little. But that was temporarily. The morning after I would feel so sick I wanted to die, and extremely embarrassed about all the stupid things I suddenly remembered doing and saying the night before. Getting drunk is not all that. Being tipsy and in control can be fun, but not necessary.
Alcohol has a large stigma attached to it, mainly due to the fact that it is highly abused by overuse. If you like the taste of a nice glass of wine or a fruity cocktail now and then, well, I see nothing at all wrong with it. Alcohol is like most things in life; it's fine as long as you enjoy it moderately.
Neither does alcohol need to be something that 'everyone should try' at some point in their life. If you don't want to drink at all, don't. Your skin and hair will look more radiant, your fitness will be better and your liver healthier, if you stay away from alcohol.
To be honest, alcohol is not a problem in my life. Chocolate and caffeine is. Man, am I addicted to those tasty buggers!
