Itachi could beat jiraiya, he said that because he never wanted to capture naruto, itachi only joined akatsuki to keep tabs on tobi/madara, he disagreed with akatsukis plans, hence why they never caught there bijuus.

Itachi has yatas mirror which deflects ALL attacks, at the VERY least jiraiya would simply run out of chakra and have to retreat.

Itachi could have easily captured naruto on MANY occasions but never did for these reasons.

like i ahve not seen what orchiamru got and jyriya could not really take him but jyriya can actually take itachi because of his chakra and the use of senjtus can blaock out gentusus and well orchiamru dcould not beat itachi but itachi couldn ot beat jyriya
and jirya could not beat orchiamru so ther for jyriya is the strongest sanin end of story

thank you. thats what i've been trying to say all along. this show isn't like DBZ with the whole A<B<C. just because itachi beat orochimaru doesnt mean he could beat jiraiya.
