Good to get into the history of fishmen pirates. In the beginning it was a kind of boring but in the end it was all what I expected. First few pages were just wasted showing the take over of the island. It would have been great if they had gone into history from the beginning. 4/5

It wasn't a waste at all. The part about the Fumi-e was simply breathtaking. Really the epitome of racism. This whole plot is acquiring a very deep meaning. Also, the story was more to explain the first part, and not the other way around. He shouldn't have skipped it to the history, Oda did just right. There's a reason why Queen Otohime was the one one the Fumi-e, and the history is starting to explain why

I mean Hyozo is cool, and plus he isn't committed to anyone, he's just an assassin for hire.

Not at all. I really really like Hyozo too. The character, the species, the race, the power, everything.. And he would bring many new things to the table, namely being a merman (Though Mermaids are the fastest, I believe Mermans should be close second underwater :S) and poison. He may have some other hidden powers.

Though the thing is, we already have 2 swordsmen in the crew...

Well they already got two(Three) close combat fighters(Luffy Chopper(Franky)), two-three (four counting franky) ranged, two swordsmen.

I guess if you put it that way. So yeah, I would't mind, at all, really, if Hyozo were to join. I would, though, mind a hell of alot if Caribou were to join

If you think about it... How the does Oda keep track of all his story lines.

Jinbe
Arlong
Whitebeard
Boa
Nami
And some others, They were all introduced with their own stories and stuff and at different moments in the "timeline". Normal people would've screwed up if they tried to tie all those stories together. I think this flashback will be amazing. Nami, Boa and Keimi already layed a good foundation for this flashback with the discrimination thing. Reading this chapter and sawing Fisher tiger at that table with Jinbe(with hair 0.o) and Arlong felt like years of One Piece coming together to one moment.

I already said last week, Jinbe's name was mentioned in the Arlong arc and he even flashed back to it. He really doesn't forget any detail even though it must've been six years ago or something. I wonder how he notes it all does he have an enourmous document on his computer with timelines charachters laughs and attacks. Even though you must've some halfgod powers to come up with chapters like this every week. I'm really excited. Normally i wouldn't rate a 5 that quick but this just earns 10 stars !

Nope. Luffy = captain, Chopper = doctor, Franky = carpenter, Brook = musician.

So no that logic isn't going to cut it as every member has a specific job. Brook is a swordsman, however he is the musician of the group. But Zoro is the swordsman, nothing else. Hyozo is also only a swordsman. It doesn't match. Hyozo is a cool character, but no the chances that he joins are nearly zero.
