The poll asks who would win at their full power which excludes Itachis sickness and blindness. We have seen Jiraiya fight at his full power but not Itachi's. Both ninjas have very strong techniques but I believe that Itachi's are all faster. The longer the battle goes for, the greater the advantage Jiraya has. Itachi is like a nuker while Jiraiya needs charge time. In the ninja world there a many ninjas, I believe that there is sort of a rock, paper, scissor system. Some ninjas are better than others because of there different styles but would get smashed by others on lower skills.
I personally believe that Itachi would win because Jiraiya would not have enough time to get what he need together. However the price to pay for such power is the light from Itachis eyes. A full powered Itachi would be one that didn't care about Sasuke and just take his eyes. He would be way stronger that Sasuke's with his.

-Sannin means nothing because it is only a title.

Well it does take time for him to go into sage mode but he has two things that protect while it happens a giant toad and a barrier.

also they both use fire jitsu but Jiraiya uses earth and Itachi uses water... Jiraiya has that type advantage

also just because is Itachi at full power has eyes that never go blind and no illness doesn't mean he can spam he eyes... he still has limited chakra and I'm thinking he is just like everyone else who is intelligent in the manga... the smarter they are the less chakra

also I know a lot of people here says "if Itachi was at full power with sasuke's eyes... isn't that a little unfair? what about Jiraiya full power? what if Jiraiya mastered sage mode like naruto... it's just as unlikely as Itachi with sasuke's eyes so there

Also if Gai knew to follow Itachi's feet to fight him don't you think some one like Jiraiya would know not to look into his eyes and fingers? Yeah his genjitsu is amazing but it won't do any good if the guy he is fighting wont fall for it.

Also Sannin pretty much stands for s-class ninja they are at the kage level

Im speaking for Itachi with facts because when Madara was talking to Sasuke about Itachi's true story he included that he loved his clan very much but he loved the village even more thats why he assassinated his clan with the exception of Sasuke.

Itachi was forced to choose between Clan or village and choose the village so why would he want to cripple Konoha's military power by taking out one of their best shinobi.

Think about it after all Every konoha shinobi he encountered he spared.

Kurenai, itachi could have killed her when they first met easily.
Itachi could have also killed Asuma after he was done with kurenai.
Itachi could have killed kakashi on both occasions they met but just left.
And itachi could have killed Jiraiya when he trapped them in the toads mouth.
Itachi could have killed Naruto or captured him every time they encountered.
Itachi could have killed a Sasuke on three seperate occasions but spared him due to him being his beloved little brother.

So before you say im talking out of my ass reread the entire manga and see all the events i've typed up for and see that itachi could have raped the konoha ninja he encountered.

Now this I can agree on and tons of people fail to see it. In the Naruto series, the skill/strength level is more based on "Rock, Paper, Scissors" rather than "A>B>C=A>C"

Well Sannin was given to them for being the 3 strongest shinobi during the 2nd ninja world war most likely besides Hanzou and Hiruzen, of course.

Itachi would definately win since we can guess Jiraiya and Orochimaru are the same level and Oro said Itachi was more powerfull than him. I think Nagato and Itachi where the same level(would love to see them fight) and Jiraiya lost to Nagato. But Itachi did say by facing him it would drag the Uchiha and the seven swordsmens names through the mud.

Ah dude you're talking nonsense... Nagato is Third of the six path (I mean third with rinnengan, not not trully Sage like Madara and Rikudou sennin).. Rinnengan is way more powerfull that Sharingan or even Mangenkyo Sharingan.. And pain is way more faster and stronger, and pain do Almighty push, Universall pull and other that jutsu style which with Planetary D can defeat even susanoo I think.
I dear to say Itatchi is no match for Nagato's and all 7 Pains includind nagato :X. And when I was listening to madaras storys I thought that Nagato could have a Izanagi up to his slave ? He are the thirdot6p and have the Rinnengan " with him he can use it without a risk to lose a eye's light an instant"... And back in theme I think that this fight is difficult, one have one way to win, another have another ways to win.. And ou, Orochimaru without technique that he's using for madara hes not even a match to Jiraya, he has Toads, then ma and pa and finally Sage mode, and jutsus like Rasengan and others so..

I agree with Cosmic Zombie. The senju fought the Uchiha all the time. The only difference is that they had a lot of practice doing it. Now compare that to now, there are so few people with the sharingan it is very hard to get any practice.

Itachi defintly would win. I dont even like him, as a matter of fact Jiraiya is one of my fav characters but Itachi (obviously not being ill) could easily beat Jiraya. Maybe with a younger Jiraiya the fight would be more interesting but Itachi is (or was at his good times) practicaly invincible. He had amaterasu, susanoo, tsukuyomi. I mean I hate sasuke was the one who killed him and in that state because he may be the second more powerfull character of the whole story, following just madara maybe...
