It doesn't really matter. They are drawn the exact same way. You don't really need anyone to tell you theyy are the same people. It's likely their KGs were different, because as you said already, things in the manga and anime are usually different and anything can be changed.

Also, do they actually say in the manga thatt Kakashi can't use fire? I'm not saying he can, I just wouldn't rule it out until we are told he can't. I agree that the manga and anime are seperate and people should view them that way.
To my knowledge it's never been stated in the manga if he can or can't use fire.

Even if he was involved, and I'd like to see some proof that it wasn't just based on his work, it's still irrelevant to manga arguments and thus this subsection of the forums. Does Kakashi have fire elemental affinity or not? In the anime he does, in the manga he doesn't. They're separate. I am certain that the manga is coming from Kishi, I'm not with regards to fillers or movies.

In the 3rd movie Naruto uses a giant FRS, when a regular one severely damaged his arm, yet he's fine afterwards. The anime and movies need liberty because the manga is too short to make a 20 minute episode from. I enjoy basically everything Naruto - manga, anime (including most fillers), movies (meh, 3rd one was the best), and video games (NUNS2, 360 [Leafeaterx]). In the credits, the game is based on Kishimoto's work, but I doubt he had any role in the game at all, especially after playing through it.

For those who read the "Harry Potter" books and watched the movies, you'll see that they're different things entirely, but I appreciate them both.

What I particularly dislike is people that say such a character used X jutsu in the the 3rd movie, he should use it in the ninja war, for example. Technically that technique doesn't exist until it appears in the manga.

Finally, what I emboldened in your quote I think is fine to a limited extent depending on a case by case scenario. If you disagree, that's fine, everyone's entitled to their opinion.
i respectably disagree and stand by what i said that fillers and movies are still related. no we shouldnt expect Naruto to do a Rainbow Rasengan (he did that in one of the movies) in a manga but we should not consider these events never happening and having no relativity to the manga at all when everything that is branded "Naruto" belongs to Kishi..

I agree with leafeater that some of them are particularly related, but some are just out there odd creations that we'll never see anything about.

The problem as leafeater stated is that far too often the movies and fillers contradict what the manga has said and that's why it can't be trusted as part of the story until you see it in the manga.
agreed odds creations we will never see but we should also never discredit. the movies and fillers dont contradict the manga. they can not contradit becuase the fillers and movies are based on the manga and having to apply or fit into the mangas plot. fillers are the fragment stories that explains many themes in the "real" story plot thats based on the manga. Jairayas Gutsy Ninja filler gave us the background of his journey to find the child of prophecy and the actual fight he had in the past with one of the bodies Pain used and the manga did not show that fight. the manga just stated Jiraiya recognized the dude cuz they fought before and that explanation was random but the anime filler connected it and made it make more sense..

movies are just stories all on their own. no comment on them. they are cool though..

Nope, Kishi came up with them and introduced them in the movie first. The same can be said for Raiga's swords. Despite Raiga being a filler character, kishi knew even at that time what he wanted the swords to look like. That is why we saw Raiga using the bolt swords that are consistent with what we saw in 523. Indeed, Kishi has come up with at least a large portion of the larger filler segments and are decently related to the story. However, it is very clear that both the anime and the manga are two separate entities. Despite the fact that Raiga used manga-accurate 7SM swords, that does not mean he exists in the manga, he exists in the anime only. It was cool to see movie-only characters who were later introduced in the manga, but they were of course a special case. After all, they were dead in the movie and brought back to life in the manga where the way they died was insignificant. As other people have said, a character does not exist in the manga until they are introduced, one has to always separate anime from manga.
well said. but i cant completely agree with that last line....

Great eye there. Let me clarify what I meant in the thread. Generally (not all the time certainly as some awesome examples have shown) things that happen during fillers and movies are not part of the actual story. Sometimes the fillers and movies absolutely borrow from Kishimoto's material and are completely accurate to the story (ie 12 Guardian Shinobi filler, Jiraiya's Tales of a Gutsy Ninja filler, some of the characters captured and used for inheritors of the will of fire), but that certainly can't be the rule. Until it's seen in the manga, it's more often than not part of the true story.

The best fillers are sure to enhance what was already referenced from the manga. (ie 12 Guardian Shinobi filler, Jiraiya's Tales of a Gutsy Ninja filler...)
everything that happens in the fillers and movies are related to the real plot or manga story. you cant rule out the anime fillers because they arent seen in the manga. the fillers explain many things that the manga doesnt cover. like i said earlier the ninja that fought Jiraiya in the past. while fighting Pain, Jiraiya just randomly figured Pains secret because coincedently he fought one of the bodies in the past. random. the Gutsy Ninjs filler connected the whole thing perfectly soo it Jiraiya finding out Pains secret wasnt soo coincedental

Chūkichi also appeared in the movie as one of the shinobi with a kekkai genkai that hasn't been shown.

"Gari resembles a shinobi who was abducted by Hiruko for use with his Chimera Technique during the events of Naruto Shippūden 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire to collect Kekkei Genkai. However, Gari possesses a different Kekkei Genkai than any Hiruko obtained, indicating that they are in fact different ninja." ( )

"Pakura resembles a Sunagakure kunoichi who was abducted by Hiruko for use with his Chimera Technique during the events of Naruto Shippūden 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire. However, Pakura possesses a different kekkei genkai than any Hiruko obtained, indicating that they are in fact different ninja." ( )

btw i think you forget Kakashi is called the "Copy Cat Ninja" or "Kakashi of the Sharingan" for a reason. i doubt it was ever stated Kakashi's iffinity is fire but one thing for sure one of his iffinity is lightening. also Kakashi has used about every basic element except for wind. ive seen earth styles, fire, lightening of course and water used by Kakashi and the best of ninjas have a hard time mastering 2 iffinities. Kakashi has over 1000 jutsus under his belt and thats from observation from his sharingan.

i don't think kakashi has a affinity for fire, that dosen't mean he can't use fire attacks they are just weaker then if he did have a affinity for it.

and in the movie the villan absorbs 4 ninja with KG and was planing on making kakashi's sharingan the 5th to be the "perfect ninja", but he used 4 different attacks that were stated as KG and none of them were scorch or blast which is what the 2 in the pic up there have in the manga, in the movie he used Steel, Swift, Darkness and Storm.

O also the senser ninja that was with sasori and deidara when they are undead was one of the 4 shown in the movie, so he may or may not have a KG as well

I completely agree. For example, Kakashi can't both have (anime) and have not (manga) a fire elemental affinity at the same time, no? Two opposites can't both be true at the same time. Sadly, some people don't agree.
to right brother... I fully agree

Well put. I didn't even realize the anime fillers said he had a fire element affinity. That's just too dumb.

The anime fillers can be fun like the Tale of the Gutsy Ninja about Jiraiya's past, but most of the time they're painful.
The ones with Naruto as a kid was so painful... fake and a waste of time...

I just keep reading posts where people are trying to argue that things that happen in fillers are actually part of the true storyline. The problem is with the majority of the fillers is they exist in their own fragmented episode that's never mentioned again or even at times contrary to what's been seen. The same goes for movies for example their isn't a Zero tailed beast (which was in one Naruto movie), Naruto doesn't use a tornado rasengan, and Sasuke doesn't use Chidori needles. Sora (the pseudo 9 tails jinchuriki) doesn't exist in the manga timeline and is never mentioned.

If it didn't happen in the manga, it's not really part of the story.
Sometimes the fillers are related and sometimes they are not, and sometimes they are and aren't. I give you some examples:

Something that's related: The Rokubi (6-Tails) named Utakata. He was shown in filler episodes and appeared the last time in the manga, although as an Edo-Tensei-Resurrection from Kabuto.

Something's that is and is not related: We've once seen a guy named "Raiga". He said that he was once a shinobi from Kirigakure, one of the 7 swordmens of the Mist. He used the pair of swords named "Kiba", which originally were the swords of Ameyuri Ringo, also one of the former 7 swordmens, who we can see now fighting vs Kakashi's Division. The fact is that we've never seen Raiga again, but the swords returned back in the last manga. They have the same look and shape.

For sure i agree that things from games and so on aren't really related to the manga, also the most of the things from the movies.

But i would say that this...

and if in a movie Naruto does a rainbow rasengan or a crescent moon rasengan than it happened. it may never happen in the manga but it happen and is relevant. i hate ppl that disgards the movies and fillers and dont realize that Kishi is in charge of all of that.
...statement is true.

Inheritors of the will of fire. The proof is the villian (Hiruko) didn't use scorch or explosion release while he should have if the characters he abducted for their bloodline limit were actually the characters from the manga. ).
He uses:
Dark Release
Earth Release
Lightning Release
Steel Release
Storm Release
Swift Release
Water Release
Wind Release

BTW I'm sure you can find the movie online. Someone provided a link in this thread, but it's missing a part of the film.

I don't think u should disregard da fillers because dats what day are fillers...look at it like dis da usa is da manga and China is da anime..just because it happened in China don't mean it didn't happen..no it may not affect da usa but it did happen...many have gave proof of the connection between da 2, were is da proof of it not have'n a connection (i.e kakashi not being able to use fire, sasuke needles being different, naruto can't use yet another from of da resengan...and so on) just because its not happening now don't mean it never did think about it

First, I'd like to thank this thread for the respect that each member has shown the other as exemplified by this post portion.

It's perfectly possible for Kakashi to copy a jutsu but be unable to use it if he can't mold the chakra possibly. When he copies a jutsu he's copying the hand-signs which mold the chakra, but without an elemental affinity nothing is going to happen.

Now, I can't disprove that Kakashi has a fire elemental affinity but has for some reason chosen not to use it in the published manga. In the anime he's used it twice if I recall correctly, in the 2-bell test and against Kakuzu. I can't prove/disprove something in the future. However, if one takes into account David Hume an English empiricist, that because Kakashi has never used fire in the manga, we can take it as law that he does not have fire until he uses fire. The same idea follows for the objects accelerating to the speed of light, currently it's impossible and law, but if it is observed or perhaps proven theoretically possible it's different.

Sometimes the fillers are related and sometimes they are not, and sometimes they are and aren't. I give you some examples:

The thing is with the anime, fillers, and movies is that Kishi has copyright and trademark on all of it probably. Thus, he can probably take anything he liked and include it in future manga, as it is technically his. Also, how much of the the stuff in the anime is stuff from Kishimoto's discard package. Stuff he thought of but didn't include for some reason. I don't know.
