Does this mean he is destroyed forever.
He is in an eternal Genjutsu....so yeah I would assume so.

I doubt Kishi will bring him back tbh Orochimaru was just a character used to power up Sasuke and introduce the Akatsuki and Kabuto etc he's the link to Konoha and nearly everything going on now.

In the plot he isnt required anymore.

Actually he wasn't defeated... he just had a pathetic end. Sasuke managed to keep control over his body... and then he was sealed without being able to put up a fight.
off topic: Itachi would easily fit the kage position both power and intelligence.

I dissagree with that sentiment about Kishi being done and away with Orochimaru. I know the circumstances surounding him make it illogical for him to return, but I find it very odd that a character whose presence was devoted more than half of the show to, would be defeated in a single episode without warning. There was no rising action, no climax of action regarding his defeat: it was boring, quick, and embarrassing... If that's really how Kishi got rid of him I will be very dissappointed.

Your right it would be a little disappointing, but then again I expected more of the Sasuke vs Itachi fight, even though we knew that Itachi never would have killed Sasuke I think the fight could have been more intense.

Well be disappointed look a your post.

It is Illogical.

Half the show wasn't devoted to him...explain to me how you think it was?

He was the main Antagonist thats about it. You got some flashbacks of him in the battle vs Sarutobi.

Part II was devoted to finding Sasuke

Part I training and getting stronger, the kyuubi & Sasuke leaving...(not orochimaru)

And in terms of climax to his defeat...he got his arms taken away in Part I...as far as I was aware we were just waiting on someone finishing him of...more than likely it was going to be Sasuke as we knew Oro was gonna try and take his body.

Orochimaru was a footnote in the series.
