Your right it would be a little disappointing, but then again I expected more of the Sasuke vs Itachi fight, even though we knew that Itachi never would have killed Sasuke I think the fight could have been more intense.

Half the show wasn't devoted to him...explain to me how you think it was?

He was the main Antagonist thats about it. You got some flashbacks of him in the battle vs Sarutobi.

Part II was devoted to finding Sasuke

Part I training and getting stronger, the kyuubi & Sasuke leaving...(not orochimaru)

And in terms of climax to his defeat...he got his arms taken away in Part I...as far as I was aware we were just waiting on someone finishing him of...more than likely it was going to be Sasuke as we knew Oro was gonna try and take his body.

Orochimaru was a footnote in the series.

Orochimaru made almost everything in part 1 happen infact with out him Sasuke would not be evil right now infact most of the event's would not have happened

Orochimaru got his arms back when he swiched bodys during the sasuke rereval arc

Oro was also stronger then most of the akatsuki and would beat almost all of them in the fight (not at the same time of course) Pain and Itachi being the only ones who would be able to beat him easily

plus Orochimaru still has a lot of influnce in the manga being aware of Madara and his plans

giving Danzo his power ups

setting Kabuto up with all of his upgrades
