On another note, is the whole New Horizons style of gameplay ongoing or are we going back to our original power fantasy? I kind of enjoyed having a weaker character to develop.

I believe that will remain as intended, but @Never would have a better answer to this.

How do y'all feel about free cosmetic only customisation? Literally just changing how an ability looks purely for aesthetic rather than keeping it canon?

Example being something like Atavistic Flames, making it Atavistic Water, Lightning, Wind etc. Making it more authentic to the users bio. Something like, "i was raised in water islands so my inner will is fluid like water". And all it changes is just instead of having flames, its water looking instead. Doesn't change the techniques or abilities or interactions. For the sake of the gameplay, its still Atavistic fire, but to match a bio that is all about water, they use that instead.

I really like the New Horizon system Zaph implemented so I'll probably be keeping it (with tweaks?) idk yet.

The idea is that development and commitment to a character and their arc is to be rewarded, so the earlier the starting point the better - and then you will notice the fruits of your labour will flourish with abilities that are more unique to ones character.

I would love this, however, this may give people grounds IC to be like "how do you know its fire when it looks like water?" As long as that doesn't happen I'm all for it.

I wanted to be Lunari but I will still consider. I am left unfulfilled in the RP even though I have pretty much some of the strongest abilities available. So I want to shake it up... I may feel unfulfilled because I suck but we may never know.

As someone else stated it would affect a persons ability to identify the nature of the technique, especially if it’s going from fire to water. If anything a color change might be appropriate, but even then colors of a jutsu can also determine a nature of a technique like senjutsu, black lightning, blue or green fire, the pink filler meteorite, etc. Not to mention all of the other CE’s.

Missed this, but while I do understand the novelty for it, it would cause issues like some of the others pointed out. It would fundamentally make what's already allowed, aka 'legal' metagaming, become entirely full on metagaming and makes it harder for people realistically counter opponent's in fights, and can lead to potential situations where someone can be like.

"Im using fire that looks like water, so how would you know to counter it with x element?"

And that, we don't need lol.
