The special rules for each HA/KG/AE/AN obviously say if they pair or don't pair and mention anything regarding dual abilitiea if they apply.

As for Canon characters I thought they were restricted to their own move sets with few exceptions. What are you trying to Dual ability on a canon character?

In the Naruto RP, you are able to create a biography that spans from having no additional ability outside of the Basics ( and not even all of them ), to having elaborate biographies with multiple abilities on it. In the past, certain combinations were banned while others where allowed. In these updated rules, everything that will be capable will be shown below. Of course, this comes with it's own limitations. To state this simply, Kekkei Genkeis (KG), Hidden Abilities (HA), Advanced Elements (AE), and Custom Clans are now defined as Core Abilities. Core Abilities are able to have up to 2 Skills on a bio, which are Modes and Advanced Ninjutsu. If a member chooses to have a second Core Ability, they will replace one of their 2 Skills. The only current exception is Custom Clan bios which currently cannot have a second Core Ability, though this will change soon as well.

As for Cannon bio, it would be a case by case thing if I'm not mistaken.

The rules here don't actually explicitly state what falls under the actual rules.
Using characters as examples, think like Jiraiya, Ay, Minato, those characters don't have a "Core Ability" such as a KG, HA or AE.
But they all have the line "Ay gains an increase of +1 Bonus AGL unless they are using Dual Abilities, in which case the ability with the highest AP boosts will apply."

I assume that canon characters fall under the Core Abilities section regardless of their ability even if they don't have one, but i just want to be clear to know the exact ruling.
If its possible to do things like put a sharingan on Ay, or have a Minato bio with FTG and also put Scarlet Rot or something on etc.
It might be worth just putting a line in or fixing the wording if canon characters fall under the "Core Abilities" section.

I want to remake my Sakura bio, but i don't know what the Dual Abilities rule is.

as far as i know, trying to find the same kinda info for tenten, the dual ability mention in the character pages are outdated, and Canon character were limited to abilities they displayed in show, including the base 5 nin gen tai etc ce/cfs etc and only canon characters that are human can get AF

@Lord of Kaos from memory i think something was in discord announcements, but can you confirm or speak on what the official combination/rule is?
Do canon bios count as one "Core ability"? (Or if you don't want to have to clarify all canon characters, can you specifically say just for Sakura?)

It was a misunderstanding when the rules were being drafted and unfortunately made it into the templates when the rules got posted and never edited out. Canon characters weren't generally allowed to combine other core skills. We experimented with it briefly with AF but decided on the ban that prevents them from adding things like AN/HA/KG/AE/CC abilities

Ha. Glad I finally get to help. So this was my question for a long time until the rules for them got updated and my questions answered.

Otsutsuki come standard with puppetry. You can have another AN without dropping puppetry at all on a custom Otsutsuki.

Can I roleplay as kakuzu? I want an akatsuki member but they all have stuff i need but dont have. I tried to make tobi but they wouldn't accept it even tho it was like tobi with just sharingan. Not the other stuff which kinda sucks...... hes my favorite character.

You can make a Tobi bio with just the Sharingan and his phasing ability. You can also make a Kakuzu bio.

No. That's been a thing. With Otsutsuki you have puppetry and then you can pick either an AN or mode or KG or AE as a dual ability. The core ability changes does't seem to affect that. Because basically with the new core ability update your core ability would be Otsutsuki that comes standard with puppetry and then you can choose another core ability instead of a "side ability" or another side ability like an AN or mode. Either way if you don't want puppetry that's cool. My Otsutsuki has Shikotsumyaku. That's an example right there.
