So as I understand it, Yin and Yang are essentially two sides of the same coin, two halves of a greater whole keeping one another in a delicate balance. They are composed of polarized concepts, like Light and Dark, Male and Female, Hot and Cold, and so on, but despite being polar opposites, they are not in conflict with one another, for one cannot exist without the other. If there was no such thing as "hot", there would be no cold, as there would be nothing you could point to that would be different from what "cold" is, thus making cold all there was, and by extension nothing essentially. The existence of one is dependent on the existence of the other, and vice versa. And when you combine the two to create Yin-Yang, you achieve everything that is, or can be. Yang, if I remember correctly, encompasses the former of the examples I gave earlier, ranging from Light to Male to Warmth, and so on.
In the series, while Yang encompasses the same concepts as the philosophical counterpart they aren't seen very much, and it is portrayed more as a force that governs vitality, allowing one to imbue things with life/ sentience where there is none. This is seen in cases like when Naruto achieves the Nine Tails Chakra Cloak and, due to him possessing the Yang half of Kurama, his overwhelming physical energy induces rapid growth in Yamato's nearby Wood Release constructs, giving them life, causing them to bloom into actual trees. Yin by comparison governs spirituality, and is able to give form to that which has none. I know from my previous experience with Yang however that in the Roleplay, Yang encompasses more than just sentience. There are techniques which carry that conceptual warmth that Yang is said to represent as a heat-based offensive technique, and others which allow for alterations to the physical form, which is mentioned in passing during Naruto's training as an explanation for why the Akimichi's Expansion Jutsu encroaches upon Yang. There are also techniques which carry the most potent of healing found in the series, such as when Naruto not only "healed", but fully restored Kakashi's lost eye, growing it from essentially nothing. This is where the Yin-Yang symbol comes into play in regards to how Yin and Yang actually work, at least here in the RP. Despite there being nothing for Naruto to "heal" aside from stopping the bleeding within the socket, he managed to create an entire organ through Yang, and the simplest explanation of this can be found in the symbol itself. As the two symbols spiral around one another, in the center of both there is a piece of the other. Naruto created an entire eye where there wasn't one, or to put it another way, gave form to that which did not exist, like Yin is supposed to. There is a aspect of Yin found within this usage of Yang. Likewise, there are Yin-adjacent techniques which, despite being primarily spiritual in nature, can be physically seen and interacted with, like Tayuya's snake-like flute Demons. Because they were almost entirely composed of Spiritual Energy, they sought out Physical Energy in an attempt to achieve balance, feeding on it by devouring it from her enemies. Once again, an example of there being even a small hint of Yang, or Physical Energy existing within an otherwise Yin, or Spiritual technique, reinforcing the concept of duality the Elements, and philosophy represent.
That is everything I can currently recall, either from my previous experiences, and general knowledge of how Yin-Yang works.
