Nobody's brain ever shuts off, well nobody living cuz if your brain does shut off that's called being dead or at the very least brain dead. Can you say you're alive if you're brain dead? I mean run an electric current through a mouse with no head and you can keep it's organs function doesn't mean the mouse is alive.

I'll humor you this one time I suppose and assume this is a legitimate post and not the usual lot. No the brain doesn't shut off when you sleep, it goes into a low energy state where dendrite connections are formed and stimuli from the previous day is converted into long term memory. Humans are little more than computers, sleep is just that a low power state it's not "off" and there's plenty of evidence out there to conclusively prove you're mistaken and you can look that up on your own time if you need convincing since it's textbook that you're quite wrong.
