Cus that'd be soooooo complicated z-z
I don't think it'd be a problem of being complicated it'd be a problem of double-dipping and bloating the kumi economy similar to what happened with buy-backs. In short, you get kin and kumi for each post you make, thus when you go ahead and convert your excess kin to kumi you'll just be doubling down on the kumi gained from posts, posts that don't even need to be rp-related. If that was how it was supposed to be they'd just raise the kumi gain for each post.

Additionally, it would create another problem with forum game, nds, or other people who post frequently in other sections and gain a fair amount of kin being abused by the RP'ers who could and most definitely would have them trade them their kin over so they could convert it to kumi similar to how people already have non-rp'ers trade over their kumi. Also technically, you can already convert kin to kumi, you would just have to buy premium with your kin at a rate of 3000 kin to 500 kumi a month. So if an alternative method of conversion would be put in place it would have to reflect that previous conversion rate imo.

My personal opinion is kumi should be earned through actual rp, or effort. You can get it through battling, missions, events, and just posting actively in the RP section. Making it easier to obtain through ulterior means through other sections would devalue the intrusive effort aspect of the currency. A lot of people already get a fair amount of kumi just by selling things to non-rp'ers and that gives them access to kumi that they didn't rightfully earn, by selling off abilities or techniques that the non-rp'er can't or won't use.

Though that's just my thoughts on it.

Posting anywhere contributes to the forum in its entirety and since it does affect the forum statistics positively i think itd be nice to spend that earned kin however you want on the forum though.

Yes you arent actully doing RP necessarily but are you doing that when you sell E-ranked customs for 6,000 kumi to someone who doesnt RP..?

I added more in, including a way you could accomplish what you're after with currently accessible methods. Though kumi is an RP currency. It should be earned through RP imo, and getting it in other ways devalues the work other people put in to earn and use it. Otherwise, you end up with an economic loophole that could bloat the economy. It's the same thing that happened to World of Warcraft when players became able to buy gold, by buying and selling Blizzard's game-time tokens. Prices for everything bought and sold by players rose steeply, and it became harder to acquire the currency required to properly play the game without buying and selling the alternative currency, in this case cash, to tokens to gold. So if a conversion function that was close to one-to-one were implemented, prices for abilities would just raise to contrast the fact that people are obtaining kumi faster via other methods.

I also added in more.
I already pointed out that was a problem, that I strongly disagreed with, in my initial post. It's also one I have no ability to fix. People already abuse non-rp'ers to get kumi. If other methods became accessible, for example, the one-to-one conversion rate as you're asking for then it would increase the ability to abuse those functionalities.

Would you be okay with someone buying a high ranking ability with kumi amassed via donations, and false trades, as well as forum game and nds spamming? Someone who has never stepped into the RP obtaining say MS > EMS > Rinnegan etc without understanding it or having put in the time to earn it? They put in forum activity, so they should be able to do whatever they want with their kin, even converting it and buying a ridiculous ability, right? This is your stance as I'm seeing it.

Rather spamming and keep the forum active than exploitation tbvh. Atleast you benefit something.. and also that has already happened.

Since i dont personally consider it a problem, no.
Explain how it isn't a problem or at least a misuse of the system? Keep in mind I'm talking about selling cj to people who can't or won't use them like forum game or NDS section users, not legitimate CJ selling to people who will use the abilities obtained. You're basically ignoring basic principles of supply and demand and economic bloat, disregarding the fact that a raise in available kumi would ultimately increase the price of abilities anyway. This means that to combat kumi being generated rapidly, inflation would occur rapidly, prices would rise and missions would need to change requiring a higher payout.

Other ways of obtaining kumi would need to improve otherwise it wouldn't be able to keep up with the double-dipping effect I mentioned meaning more effort would be required early on to obtain the abilities people would want unless they abused the system and abusing the system would create a cascading effect. Obviously that's a worst-case scenario but I don't see the conversion thing happening anyway so it's just a thought experiment on my part.

Also your custom selling analogy falls through because it's RP related. They're paying for your ability, or the effort you put into creating the custom and the ability to use it themselves. Even if they pay an incredible amount for it, yes they might be stupid and there might be abuse going on but it's still an RP related action, requiring an RP related payout.

There is hardly any practical use for kin, maybe it will get changed in the future but who knows. For me personally(i might be the only one) i dont have use for Kin whatsoever as it currently stands so why not being able to use it for something i want rather than it being useless to me. In my opinion, the way you earn kin(through posting) has a positive effect on the forum in its entirety as i stated before, it raises forum activity. Not RP specifically but overall. Id be fine if you shouldnt be let to convert your kin 100% to kumi but id say you should be able to have the capabilities to exchange 50% or something similar. We had rp ranks related to post count before for many years. It wasnt considerd a problem for a long time..

Ofc its RP related, otherwise it wouldnt have been a thing. I tried to do the same thing a while back even tho i considered the transaction value very fair. I dont mind it too much this staying how it is, i like writing missions but i just find it a bit redundant not to be able to use kin, a currency you get for being active on the forum, to be used on whatever you want on the forum. Thats all.

It's a cosmetic currency for cosmetic actions, premium, name changes, badges. More cosmetic actions could be added but adding RP actions for it, seems counter productive and would raise several economic problems that would require some kind of change. You traded a CJ to a person without the ability or without a bio if you're referring to what I believe. They couldn't use that ability making the transaction void this has always been a problem and if people abuse it and get caught then that's on them. You can't train someone without Ice Release in Ice Release techniques or someone without Steel Release in Steel Release customs or someone who hasn't trained in B rank fire in B rank fire techniques etc, this is stated in the CJ thread or has been agreed upon in visible and ruled places. It's a similar problem to overselling or over teaching a CJ, or other CJ abuses that have had to be dealt with in the past. You can already exchange 3000 kin for 500 kumi by buying premium just do that and save the money you would have spent on premium. That's about a 20% exchange rate 16.67% to be exact.

Well im glad that monetization is investigated. For what its worth, i cant wait to see what the kin shop will add in the future, maybe ill find something to spend it on after all this time. Thanks for the premium suggestion, didnt know it was a thing.

They're displayed in your inventory under Gifts.

Though making them more prominent like Awards is something you'd have to ask the Admins/General Mods about.

I know but whats the point of that if no one can see em? Just for gathering dust.
Wish we could use it for profile outlines, FX etc. Right now there is no point gathering the points cuz the only thing worth it is the premium. Which would probably take almost a year to gather considering how the forum is going.
