We need a method because, if people lynch random people, that is suspicious and depressing, and
if people group themselves with a certain faction (ie. townie), it is unreliable because everyone will say they're a townie.
I guess a way to search for suspicious players, is to see if anyone made any awkward, unnatural, seemingly forced posts? In the example game, that is why they were thinking to lynch someone.

The example you saw was from turbo mafia. Its a fast track one . There is hardly time to guess who is who .

Maybe finalbeta will make better game than me he has good experience host. Its good your suggestion will improve my hosting .

Yes indeed that's how it works. Unless, of course, one does already know the playstyle of someone, in that case if he doesn't play like the past games where he was town it is suspicious so knowledge over players is important too but we have none as it's the first game.

So, the write up confirms we have a doctor, a role called neighbours, a Sherrif, mafia, SK, cartel mafia (probably a team) and other independents (those lurking in the dark alley).

But can't one have multiple roles? Like, can't the doctor be the assassin in secret? Or the couple mentioned in the beginning can be the cartel?
This is the first time i am playing this game so I might be totally wrong here.

Definitely needing a method here since we don't know the game styles of everyone.
So, I see only two alternatives here. We either start lynching randomly... or... we collect other clues.

No, each person gets only one a role, a role might have multiple actions tho (depending on the set up)

Normally, roles are randomly assigned, so the host wouldn't consider play style when assigning roles.

This is a close ended game so your roles will not revealed . I need to mention that as the sign up you will all pretend as the town members . So every one has power to lynch in this game .

The game would be pretty simple if i open the roles but whats the fun xD. Its too make everyone suspicious among each other . The role of town's people is too suspect the players chats and description that s where you will lynch the players .

Bold: If a player dies, that player's role will be revealed. This includes ability and which faction the player belonged to.

Closed setup means none of the roles are revealed at the start of the game. However as the game progresses and players start dying the roles of the dead players will be revealed.

It's a legit reasoning. Unless the hosts randomized everything and then it's impossible to figure out who has got the strongest roles.

They must have based it on something....New game, new players.
My first guess is that they would place the people that have played Mafia before in the Mafia group. Or at least, most of them. Which begs the question.... who here has played Mafia before?
