Portugal too gone. Ronaldo didn't do any magic this time around. But honestly, I didn't felt much about the Uruguay plays. So it is going to be France Vs Uruguay in the Quarter Finals. I will be rooting for France tho but let the team that plays better and capitalizes on conditions may deserve to win.

Lol Ronald got Yellow Card at the end of the match. Portugal got a Corner chance at 90+5, thought they would turn around the tide and tie it but didn't lol. When Uruguay got the lead in the match in the second half, pretty much they played defensive to deny the Portugal chances.

Portugal attempted 20 shots at goal and 10 corner shots but no avail. And they had the ball under their possession for 65% of the match. Much like Argentina had in Vs France. Two goals by Mbappe sent Argentina and two goals by Cavani sent Portugal packing to home

And the bronze medalist didn't even qualify.

Hard times!. lol. Though sometimes I wonder, Soccer feels like more of a luck & tactic game than play by a sheer force and brute ball hitting. A player could attempt as many goals he can towards the goalpost but not all reaches in. Maybe, Luck is a Huge Factor in these games if not in all instances.

My betting is on France but Spain do have their chances. I read articles about Brazil & Belgium have higher chances to win down the line. My initial thoughts were during the Group stages was that Belgium looked sharper and stronger in their tactics and plays. I haven't watched any Brazil games so far.. so I have no say on it yet. But France did comparatively better too. In their match against Argentina, they escalated their momentum faster in the second half. But we will see.

Messi Lionel will comes back stronger in 2022. A stage has been set for him to lift Cup in Qatar. U_U

Yep. It is a team sport tho. Matches aren't won by a single person. They are collectively won by everyone in the team. Be it whoever that goals. If a person goals a goal then just look back at how many dribbles, how many passes has the ball gone through to finally reaching the goal. So yeah, A team wins at the end.

4 editions of WC I've followed. 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014.

From 4 WCs 2 of them have me chosen the right team to Win it. 2002- Brazil, 2014- Germany. They're not just any teams but my fav teams. My second fav team Germany has crashed out from this tournament. So I think today is not the year they win the WC. I catched their "short live" in this WC since their first match against Mexico. Even if they qualified to play in Round of 16, Brazil will surely beat them very soundly, my first fav.

Starting from the first match of Germany I get a hunch that this year Brazil will surely win the cup and not Germany. And many will fall to make "a way" for them.
