So we're back here now that the World Cup is over I take it
I still cant believe Ronaldo went to rubentus.... well thanks for everything Cristiano you will always be THE BEST IN THE WORLD,
With Zidane also leaving it looks like James want to go back to Madrid With Bale is also rumored to be leaving, Madrid is going to be very busy in the transfer window this summer,
Hazard already declare his intention to play for Madrid but i dont think he is the man to replace Cristiano, no one is...
Mbappe is a good choice after all he idolize Cristiano and probably want to play for a club where his idol make his mark but PSG aint gonna let that happen for less than 200M Euro,
Either way Madrid just lose a player who scored 40 goal per season and things is not looking good with the new coach, 4 UCL in a row seems impossible now.
I know... I have this strange feeling of emptyness really, pondering on how this will work itself out, I mean, we still have a large squad but I'm afraid most of the players might not be hungry enough unless Lopetegui can set us straight.
On one side I feel like we need massive rotations, Bale wanted out, will he now stay since Ronaldo left? If so will he play up left and we'll go back to 4-3-3? Does that mean Asensio will play right wing? Will Lopetegui go for him or will he favor Isco (both spanish players under his National team)? If both, then maybe we need to offload someone else, and as much as I love Modric, maybe we need to focus on Isco? I have no idea really. One thing is for sure, if we're going to bet on Isco and Asensio, there's no room for James unless someone buys Modric and/or Kroos, which I don't see happening...
For some reason Real has seemed to be against shopping these past years and for some reason I have this strong yet unsettling feeling we won't do shit on the market this year. We've declined all speculation on Neymar thrice, officially, and Mbappe just said after the final on record that he's commited to staying at PSG having just recently penned a contract with them after the loan deal with Monaco. That leaves Hazard as you say but he's definitely no Ronaldo, so in that case he would simply take up Bale's spot, which again would probably force us to sell Bale, Isco or Asensio...
So that leaves one thing to do. Sell Benzema (he made Ronaldo good so I accepted that for the last three years, but now Ronaldo is gone, we need someone to score the goals), then again, Benzema seems committed to retire at Madrid, lol, which means we won't be scoring any goals at all this year, sigh. If by a miracle we can at least offload Benzema, we need a pure striker in that isn't Mbappe, so who? Kane? Don't think we'll throw all the Ronaldo millions on him, so that leaves us with nada. For the first time in years I seriously have no clue what will happen, but from the looks of it, nothing will. Or rather we got that random fellow just now that I have never heard of, so that's that, but yeah...
As for Ronaldo, best of luck and thanks for everything! A few more years and you would have surpassed Raul in my eyes but for now I probably still put you on equal terms in Legendary status in the club. Going to need some time to clear my thoughts on that matter, lol.
When we won the third I felt something was lacking, but still with the extremely hard path we had to win it, I still thought we had a chance at making it 4 or even 5 times in a row. Then Zidane left and I was certain it would end with the 3, hearing his reasoning however and considering getting new blood in, which again related to my feeling of something lacking before, I thought this could very well be the way we would go on and make it 4 or 5 in a row, that was until the bomb went off and Ronaldo left. I have no hopes for this season whatsoever, and I fear that a 3 years recovery period awaits us. However, we just have to wait ans see and trust in the players and in the board, and above all, Hala Madrid!
