If you mean the confession panel, then not really. The translators analysed the scenes and more or less said that Sumire wasn't teasing Sarada.
.

Agreed bro people trying to make excuse to justify their pairings.

I wouldn't say pushing, but making her aware of it. But the dialogue from VIZ (+ OD's translator notes), and the panels themselves kinda make it obvious that Sumire is being a sneaky lil girl.

Yes but it isn't really Sumire trying to bring Sarada to confess her feelings.

By the end of the Arc you think? I don't see why they would do this otherwise.

Or they're trying to do the whole love triangle crap once again to attract shipper. Anyway Sumire confessed now and it could go in both directions. Sarada now making a move towards Boruto, but also the possibility that Sarada may help Sumire with hers now that she know her little secret.

Anyway Sumire confirmed her crush to one of her best friends with that scene, which caused another love triangle, but I doubt the result at the end of the arc will confirm the endgame pairing. Way to soon, especially for two girls crushing the same boy.

Agreed bro people trying to make excuse to justify their pairings.

Just saying what was the meaning behind the scene.

I don't really care about the wording of the subject, but the panels really signify what they are trying to do for me. The Anime was clear on the matter as well.

Sumire is tagging along for the ride, but I don't think they are setting

The translations from multiple sources don't really confirm a crush, but rather an interest or worry? It's vague. But what I understood is that Sumire wanted to make Sarada aware of her interest in Boruto, to which causes Sarada, when walking away, to almost seem cautious.

Agreed Sarada's words imply she's not interested they're as clear as day.

Agreed Bro I don't thibk there's a love triangle, Sarada will likely help Sumire. Overcoming Mitsuki's going to be a big issue.

Anyway Sumire confirmed her crush to one of her best friends with that scene, which caused another love triangle, but I doubt the result at the end of the arc will confirm the endgame pairing. Way to soon, especially for two girls crushing the same boy.
The endgame is Boruto and Mitsuki or Boruto and Sumire. I don't see Sarada becoming a snake those qualities aren't befitting a Hokage. Her expression is wtf did I just hear and people are trying to make it new than that.

Just saying what was the meaning behind the scene.
Your meaning is right.

This pretty much summarize the whole meaning behind the scene

Sumire’s initial leading question in the raw is uses モテる. It’s not simply to mean ‘popular’. It’s slang that refers to someone’s appeal to the opposite ***, basically. VIZ dodged that nuance at first. So they have Sumire asking “Is Boruto pretty popular back home?” instead of something more true to the slang like ‘You think he’s popular with the ladies’.

How they dealt with 気になる (Ki ni naru) is interesting. They doubled ‘bothered’ in both lines instead of ‘worried about’ or ‘interested in’ to keep it more on the DL.

But her second line of “And does that bother you, Sarada? That other girls might like Boruto?’ is a mash between dropping モテる in Sumire’s leading question. In the JP raw it’s ambiguous if Sumire is asking about concern with Boruto himself or that she is asking about Boruto's lady-magnet charms. She said specifically ボルトのこと (Boruto no koto) at that point in the raw, which we interpret to mean the man himself. Otherwise I would have expected her to say そんなこと (Sonna koto) = About that thing I just referenced//his popularity with the ladies.

English version made it seem like Sumire is trying to get Sarada jealous for some reason? That doesn’t come off like that in the JP to us at all. Sumire just seemed curious more than trying to pry/feel out Sarada. It’s not that direct like Viz has it here.

Another translator posted her take of the raw interpretation on our subreddit:

Whereas in the JP raw, Sarada could have misunderstood her first question, but then realized what Sumire actually meant with her ‘Ki ni naru’ the second time around with her wink.

Sumire's wording is a word play, which doesn't work in the english language. Sarada thought she meant "being interested" in him in a not romantic way. Sumire meant the second meaning with "being interested" = interested in a romantic way (low-key confess), which she signaled with the wink, which pretty much could mean "If you know what I mean".

The scene exist to confirm a "crush" on Sumire's side and to possibly start Sarada to make a move because she feels threated. And this creates the perfect love triangle, since with this it can go either way with who ends up with Boruto.

Your gonna get infracted for linking another forum site. I didn't quote it for that reason.

I wasn't really quoting English text though. What I mean by pushing isn't just necessarily the translations, despite how vague and openly interpreted they are, it's how they are being used in conjunction with the panels.

What's even more important than the dialogue of scenes, is how characters react to what is being said, and how the person is acting while saying it. Sometimes actions speak louder than words.

It almost looks like Sumire is having fun, whether the dialogue is being intentional with it or not. She put Sarada on her toes, to which she looks a certain way before leaving, whether the dialogue was supposed to be intentional with it or not.

Though I guess that's why Ikemoto drew that cover, despite it being rather ugly. My opinion on the matter is that Sumire's confession is not going to last that long. I don't think she's supposed to be end game, but more of a red herring of sorts. I don't see a "love triangle" -- but rather something starting or ending now.

Either Sumire gets it or Sarada gets it

But nothing will dragged on.

Agreed Bro and the fact is people ignore this scene from the Boruto anime as well. Sumire's talking to Boruto, she looks at him becomes all embarrassed, turns away and her expression changes, then she starts muddling her words while being embarrased. Clear signs and behaviour of a girl who has a crush or maybe even in love.

Sumire's clearly crushing and this cements(adds weight) to the actual meaning of the words(in the manga and their purpose) that she's interested in Boruto. She likely told Sarada because she can't tell Boruto directly, she wants Sarada helps her and even tells her to take care of Boruto for her.

If Sarada felt like she was being teased by that moment, then Sarada would've rather acted embarassed. With how it looks, she felt suprised. And when Sumire asked her question to her if she's interested/worried about him, she also acted like pretty normal. Not speaking about how Sumire actually began the conversation when she said Akita liked him and if he's popular along women. And at the end it also looked like Sarada thought "Is Sumire really liking Sumire like that". She was suprised after realizing Sumire's "true meaning".

For me it seems like Sumire was curious if he's already out for her, hence she asked Sarada about it and if she's liking him, which Sarada denied with a normal expression. She may have done that to avoid any conflicts between her and Sarada and after Sarada denied it, she could tell Sarada about what she actually feels for her know about it and maybe to get help for her.

Of course Sarada could realize her feelings for Boruto because of another girl suddenly liking Boruto. It can go either way and that's why I think they're trying to push anothe love triangle with an open end to generate more and more interest for the manga, especially since they're probably aware that people also like Boruto x Sumire.

But of course let's wait for more stuff to come.

That kinda makes sense since Sumire literally just says that she's interested in him in that one panel, if she actually had feelings for him? Why in the world would they not hint at her liking him at all in the anime? All she did was thank him for what he did for her and changing her ways and that's it; their was not another hinting for the two of them flashfoward at all. for a fighting anime like this? Wouldn't be weird to just say she's interested in Boruto right off that bat and not hint at it all in the beginning in the first place, not only that but the expression kinda makes a clear point for the reader.

So what i'm trying to say is that Sumire just seems like she's joking with Sarada just to help her out on whatever since she's a friendly person because of how Boruto changed her. In fact after the Nue arc literally Boruto and Sarada has been hinting throughout the anime since then to the point where one of them say they make a good couple, not only that but take the movie, the private conversation scene, the novel or whatever the author publish and take that into perspective. Seems to fit the big picture does it. Now i do not care for whoever gets with whoever i'm just stating facts on what we know so far taken from the fact of how i experience some Shounen anime's.

I didn't really say she felt like she was being teased, but I doubt given her nature with boys from the get go that she would be gushing at the talk about it. There are some concepts that say that Sumire was just wondering if Sarada was worried that Boruto was popular among women, to which she only said he's like that with everyone lol.

For me it seems like Sumire was curious if he's already out for her, hence she asked Sarada about it and if she's liking him, which Sarada denied with a normal expression. The way that these love triangles are setup, its different than how this Manga operates. Usually two female characters who like the same person, hardly interact/talk about their liking the other character. So they are either trying something new, or that they are trying to wrap it up by having no hard feelings on other side when it reaches its climax.

Whenever that is. I'm pretty sure Sarada/Sumire will have another discussion when they get back, at least I think so.

That's kinda why the Sumire thing doesn't sound right to me, it almost seems forced onto the story when they have already been building up Boruto and Sarada's relationship from Chapter 700 - Gaiden - Movie.

Even in the Manga it's been mostly Boruto and Sarada's relationship, until once again, Sumire showed up out of nowhere.

Well this isn't the first time the Naruto series wanted to throw in love triangles and red herrings to play with fandoms. Though if they expect people to actually care about that kind of plot in the story, they are mistaken. No one actually wants to see three people go back and forth until the series ends, that's why there is so much negativity in the base.

People getting their feelings hurt and investing their heart into fictional couples lol..

Which kinda proves the point of Boruto being different, they want to try something new with fighting, story, romance, mystery and probably all in genre, which gives me a thinking to what kishimoto said "Boruto will be better than Naruto" it may not be the EXACT quote of what he said but this is probably what i have in mind in coming to thinking. This time will it be someone trying to destroy the village just because he wants to? Will some mystery reveal that some kind of traitor is lurking for a purpose? All that kind of stuff and i lack ideas in story telling.

The fact that he said that gives me the feeling of trying to start off as a crappy series intentionally; then turning into something very chilling. Think of this, you have a water that is half filled with no ice and start to fill it up vs water with ice and start to fill it up from the start. Think of Naruto and Boruto in that case of scenario, which one is gonna fill up first? I just feel like Boruto will just be different in terms of overall standards tbh

Well Sakura and Ino also were both crushing Sasuke and behaved about the same. Aggressive and open to each other. While here in Sarada's and Sumire's case they're friends. That's why Sumire was open to tell her about crushing Boruto to Sarada, while not knowing that Sarada could also like her. That's the reason to ask her out if she's already behind him. So Sarada knows Sumire crushes him and Sumire told her that so she could expect some help from her like best friends would do to each other. That would be a friendly love triangle, but without Sumire knowing about Sarada's true opinion about Boruto.

But to end it here, I think we need to wait for the next chapters to make it clear. Sumire crushing Boruto would make a lot of sense anyway.

What's with the disrespect you said there would've been something in the anime if Sumire crushed on Boruto. I've presented it and your being shitty about. I'm sorry if it hurt your feelings or ideal ship.

The truth is I dislike ships but this what I see happening(BoruSumi or BoruMitsu for new age crap) if it does.

Tbh and this is just my opinion so please don't jump on me people cause i hate debating. If they want to develop a couple from the beginning like that then they should keep it like that just because it seems like a healthy/vanilla relationship to me, they start off as friends at like age 5-9 and start becoming closer later on in part 2 cause it would actually be interesting to see their dynamics together, especially when Boruto is abandoning the village for protection purposes, and they should keep it like that until the end of the series cause i don't want more than one person to like the same guy even though the relationship HAS already been built from the beginning.

The point is that i just don't want another love triangle yo just keeps pairings singular and all can be in peace, not only that but they'll get into the action! Just imagine the whole discussion about Boruto kicking ass theories on his jutsus, discussion on the "Boruto Stream", Sarada's op fireball jutsu, hmmmmm hmmmmm very juicy isn't it? But no, they have to make another love triangle just to troll us yo, and i don't want another discussions on pairing wars especially with Naruto and possibly and hope not Boruto. But that probably won't be the case since Sumire did do some sneaky licky method there, she's chose the thief class huh?
Note: Sumire speech skill increased to 98.

Sakura and Ino were kind of mindlessly in love with Sasuke, and I don't see that same adoration here. Sasuke attracted females because of his looks, whereas I guess this is more personality/action?

The fact that he said that gives me the feeling of trying to start off as a crappy series intentionally; then turning into something very chilling. Think of this, you have a water that is half filled with no ice and start to fill it up vs water with ice and start to fill it up from the start. Think of Naruto and Boruto in that case of scenario, which one is gonna fill up first? I just feel like Boruto will just be different in terms of overall standards tbh
I agree.
