Tbh and this is just my opinion so please don't jump on me people cause i hate debating. If they want to develop a couple from the beginning like that then they should keep it like that just because it seems like a healthy/vanilla relationship to me, they start off as friends at like age 5-9 and start becoming closer later on in part 2 cause it would actually be interesting to see their dynamics together, especially when Boruto is abandoning the village for protection purposes, and they should keep it like that until the end of the series cause i don't want more than one person to like the same guy even though the relationship HAS already been built from the beginning.
The point is that i just don't want another love triangle yo just keeps pairings singular and all can be in peace, not only that but they'll get into the action! Just imagine the whole discussion about Boruto kicking ass theories on his jutsus, discussion on the "Boruto Stream", Sarada's op fireball jutsu, hmmmmm hmmmmm very juicy isn't it? But no, they have to make another love triangle just to troll us yo, and i don't want another discussions on pairing wars especially with Naruto and possibly and hope not Boruto. But that probably won't be the case since Sumire did do some sneaky licky method there, she's chose the thief class huh?
