Do you think Kishi made an improvement on his depiction of women?

Particularly towards teh end of the series, I thought he did a good job. Examples being Sakura defeating Kaguya, saving Sasuke, saving Naruto, healing all of teh alliance, tanking Madara's rod neg diff and Hinata defeating Toneri's cleaning robot puppets.

Thoughts?

But she married the one that almost killed her in the past?

I think when naruto first began a lot of mangas kind of depicted female characters like that but as time went on its changed
Because i see a lot more mangas getting better at that

Sakura was shown to be strong literally early in part 2 then she kinda faded away but she was there at important moments like the Kaguya one. I don't know if much changed during the end. I think someone said he said that he doesn't know how to write female characters.
But giving them strong positions at least shows he cares I guess.

Yeah, Sakura played a major roles in the War arc and towards the end and in “The Last” Hinata did really well and Sarada seems to be shaping up. “The Last” and “Gaiden” also show Sakura’s development pretty well.

Barely, but he did pick Sakura up in the war and she did well.. That was the Sakura that was to keep existing after the fight with Sasori and Gaara retreival arc...

He's shown many times he has the potential but for some reason he can't help doing dumb things in situations that involve his females and nerf...

Final war arc was the WORST outing for female leads. The Tsuki no Me dreams posed them as lovesick puppies. Hinata and Sakura have their most pathetic moments in the final war arc against Madara. Kaguya is terrible.

But then you have the likes of Tsunade pummelling a great fight against a sexist, elitist Madara and Ino earning her stripes on the final battlefield. The final Final Fantasy boss being a female is also notable. And then SARADA. Who is a perfect example of a female lead.

In short: Kishimoto is GREAT at his secondary female cast, badassery & vulnerability- he wrote them with respect as people. something he never afforded Sakura & Hinata.

Pretty short-lived...and at the last moment.

Sakura's character development :sdo:

Fighting prowess and spotlights don't make a good character.
This. Kaguya alone attests to this statement. Inversely, a good character doesn't need to be a top tier or even powerful at all.

Gaiden ruined what little, if any, character development Sakura had, causing her to more or less end up the same way she was in Part 1.

So the Sakura you wanted to keep existing was one with powers handed to her with no character development involved?

Actually he made it far worse by making SasuSaku canon.
SS = Biggest troll by Kishimoto :th:

How the hell is tripping from being tired pathetic/negative character development? I also don't get how he didn't treat Hinata with "respect as people" as you put it when Hinata is by far one of the most self-respected female characters in the series.

Kishimoto failed Sakura's character the moment he let her marry Sasuke.

^^ The same guy who did this shit. And on top of that, he stated that Sakura has no reason to love him and they might not be happy together :lmao:

They didn't say it was "negative" or "pathetic", but it does continue to portray them as the very same love sick puppies they always have been. Nothing changed for her. She gets slightly stronger over time, but her entire character and development is based on "Naruto-kun" Just as sakura is based on "Sasuke-kun".
