This Pair is impossible to happen! Why impossible? Well it's simple . Sumire is not in the manga in other word Boruto only has Sarada . The anime can't make Boruto marry a character absent in the manga . It would be an alternate timeline .

But knowing Kawaki is in Both anime and Manga proves anime is following Manga .

So in conclusion . It's going to be Sarada and Boruto . Sumire and Boruto WILL NEVER HAPPEN EVERRRR

Adding them suddnely doesn't make sense . If they want to add them then Boruto and the others should know them already . It's just too weird to add them to the manga . They were not mentioned nor explained why they didn't participate in the chunin exams.

The Chunin Exams is a fully optional process. Them not partaking in it can be explained really easily. It would also make sense not to introduce Sumire early in the current manga arc, as that would spoil the whole Ghost Arc. They can still be there for the next arc.

what everyone else said, also its not weird to already know a character who wasnt introduced yet. especially if they were in your academy class which wasnt shown in boruto manga since they started at the chuunin exams & then past that has only been focused on Boruto and his lil friend.

Meh.... yes and no, if Sumire was supposed to be there for the next saga, she should in there by now. I mean an orphaned girl in Konoha, is supposed to be in Konoha right?
Still right now, they're filling us off of as much of the Boruto fluff/Naruto replacement as possible, but it's starting during/after the events of Boruto the Movie, already the only things we knew when that started was the relevancy of Sarada, Mitsuki and Boruto. Which is the manga rendition of the same established material. Also when Iwabe, Denki, Sumire and others weren't even invented yet.
