Don't forget that Zabuza rekted Kakashi shit with just a water clone and a water prison jutsu combination. Kakashi only escaped because of Naruto and Sasuke's ingenuity and cunning.

Kakashi had his MS during the fight he just never used it because it wasn't thought of at the time but based on the timeline he had it since he unlocked it with Obito when Rin died.

kakashi had to babysit 4 other people in that fight and as such altered the way he fights to protect them. To say zabuza wins while removing the people that held kakashi back is baseless.
Those same kids did save him so it could go either way. Kakashi knew the target was the bridge builder so naturally knowing Zabuza's target helped him in that fight tremendously. Dog summon would win it for Kakashi more than likely though

Kakashi has to:
Protect bridge builder
Protect team 7
Beat zabuza
Zabuza has to:
kill bridge builder.
If its a 1v1 than kakashi wouldn't have to worry about stuff like this.
It was still a thinking game.
Remember both kakashi and zabuza used clones to counter one another while the real one sat in hiding. Rather there are people there or not the fight would still be very tactical.
Considering the situation the others being there simplied it as the fight was mainly focused on the bridge builder. Remove him and the kids and you will have a pretty intense guessing game
Zabuza beats Hidan, Zetsu, maybe Sasori although I wouldn't bank on it.

had the kids/bridgebuilder not been there kakashi wound continue to send out clones in his stead until he has zabuza figured out entirely. but because he had to cover for others he gave himself up.
All of zabuza's tactics involved using the kids/builder to bait kakashi:

not really. his only goal was killing the bridge builder. Thats a win for him and he gets paid.
Kakashi cant let builder die cuz that results in a failed mission.
He also cant let his teammates die since that's simply not how he rolls. Any of those results as loss for kakashi.

That was his goal, but he had to pass thru Kakashi. After the mist he could easily take down Bridge builder and Team 7.

again he only achieved that by using the kids as bait.
He didn't try fight kakashi, he went straight for the bridge builder/team7, and kakashi has to play the defensive position.
Defend team7
Defend bridge builder
etc
the only time kakashi became the aggressor in either of their fights is when the team and builder stopped being a factor ha had to worry about/cover for.
And in that he immediately wiped the floor with zabuza.

Look... those kids still menaged to free Kakashi from the water prison. But he outsmarted Kakashi with double water clone and taijutsu. The fight was still 4v1 - Zabuza was alone . He had to think about the kids/bridge builder and Kakashi.
Not saying Kakashi is weak, but Zabuza is true Ninja Assassin and deserve much more respect then this.
