My favorite characters are Minato and Itachi. These two guys are by far the very definition of genius for me.

yes man .. everytime i see itachi .. touching sasuke's head in his last battle i cry because there will never b another like him... an minato is by far the greatest shinobi to ever walk lol .. dude he was born with no special powers and still came to be well known and feared all over the shinobi world.

Well I couldn't read all the posts of the last 5 pages but I got a overall view here are my thoughts:
1) Hanzou was only stronger than the Sannin at that time they were still very young later on they improved even more same way Hanzou was stronger than Nagato when Yahiko was killed but when Nagato fully mastered the Rinnegan he killed Hanzou.
2) It really doesn't matter who it is but facing the Sannin will be tough Hanzou was able to live with fighting against the 3 mainly because they still had room for improvements. Most probably Minato is stronger than the Sannins individually but when its 3 vs 1 I don't like Minato's chances.
Lastly guys I still don't know whether there is still a character that can beat Pain, remember Naruto got all that infos and help and then he was able to reach the final Pain and then Nagato wasn't defeated but he understood. I am a huge Naruto fan but I had to admit that. Now with Naruto with so much power and Sasuke will get some awesome power but the question is if they ever fought Pain for the first time will they be able to beat Pain. I really think that if Jiraiya knew about Pains abilities then he would have been able to beat him but Jiraiya throughout the battle against Pain was trying to discover his powers which was the main reason Pain won.

Just go back and read all the comments and wild speculation of who could beat who in a fight when one or both characters full potential have never been brought to light. Example. Madara and 4th Hokage. The 4th only used a few techniques and assumptions ran rampant he was weak cause he CANT DO THIS TECHN OR THAT JUTSU- how can anyone come to that conclusion based on one battle... In any fight the objective is to kick the crap outta the other person asap...using the most effective means (technique justsu etc) available. That does not mean you cannot do other fabulous techniques, it just means based on what you know of the opponent this or that would be the best moves to use against your opponent. HOPE THAT MAKES MORE SENSE TO YOU NOW.
Anyway stuff is flying all other place about who could do this and who couldnt do that...this one is stronger than that one because... blah blah blah.. Thus the reason I used the term absurd because we ARE ALL SPECULATING, wishing and FANATASING and letting our IMAGINATIONS RUN WILD TRYING to figure things out...AND YES THAT INCLUDES ME AS WELL. so that is why I said 1, 2 & 3 above.

But it was Pain himself that said those were just bodies, I think with Narutos new abilities he would be able to sense the chakra they are receiving, therefore finding the real pain and I'm sure naruto would have the chakra to spare to find out pains abilities on his own

yeah,,I know what you mean...I rather enjoy looking at historical events and how they change the world and more importanly our "world view" and I believe there is nothing that this current world superpower wouldnt do to make sure they retain their status as #1, both militarily and politically. To that end recent events (past few decades) have "been manuevered to deliberately change our world view". And I believe it has been a continously evolving project. Again that is in my humble opinion.

Yup you are right about this Naruto has become a super sensor type so he will be able to trace the original Pain quickly. So my question is can the MS or EMS do it too.

is samehada still kisame's friend / companion / sword. or does he want bee still.
was samehada acting during the previous fight?
did kisame have some backup plan or some sort of power to force samehada under his control again?
did samehada know that he was fighting with a kisame copy and turned on the fake?

Ya Sakura has bee trying to prove herself from the start of Shippuuden and she had some hope but then it was all over. Really can't see her doing anything great rather than treating the wounded which is a very noble deed. But as a ninja the fighting stuff and all that she is just worthless mainly because now we are going to see Kage level battles so she doesn't fit there. And also Hinata trying to save Naruto knowing she doesn't stand a chance took the spotlight and Sakura trying to act tough and tried to kill Sasuke twice and needed to be saved twice. Don't think she can prove herself anymore.My favorite character is Sakura i think she's the bestest <3 and all u guys better chill with the hating

I think Samehada didn't knew that Kisame was suppose to switch body with Zetsu. So when Kisame switched body with the clone then Samehada was lacking the "Kisame factor" you know what I mean and that's why probably Samehada was liking Killer Bee's chakra and then Kisame hid himself inside of Samehada and Samehada realized that Kisame was back. Interesting thing is if Kisame is killed what will happen to Samehada will it go back to Killer Bee or somehow Naruto will get it
My fav chars are Lee and Gai. On a side note, pain was on par with any of the current kages. Though I still believe the current kages would defeat. ( Also jiraoya died by a spur of luck, was to busy trying to figure out the ability. Was also one of the plot Holes in naruto)
