"Importance" has no significance in the vastness of space when stars are so distant apart. The universe itself holds more emptiness than life.

"Nobody is important" is a bunch of crap. If you're important to other people, then you're important. Space might be vast, but as far as we know, it's empty. A bucket full of nothing isn't more valuable than a pocket of gold just because it's bigger.

Nope, the space is not empy, if you can see if full of stars and galaxy, also even the empty space is full particles so.

OT: I see what you figure out there but not that was my point.

Yeah but what is the actual value of that stuff? Value is relative, not objective, so something like the vastness of the universe doesn't decrease importance as people in relation to each other.

Its all relative though.
Your loved ones would value you more than a bunch of diamond rocks lightyears away from them.

Well if you die or someone else (I don't want that) the universe doesn't care, but is very cleary that our existince is very insignificant and unimportant.
I mean now, are so many species that have disappeared due to mass extinctions, that makes clear that the universe is not made for support life and we just a cosmic accident, our existence is irrelevant.

Who cares if the universe cares.

If a person dies, another person feels pain. That experience is real. That experience exists. That experience is strong. That means value. The universe is a vast emptiness. Yes, it's filled with rocks and particles, and shit happens inside, but it's empty. It's not alive. It's a bucket of rocks. So who gives a shit if the universe doesn't care. We're not here for the universe. Yeah, it's spectacular, but at the end of the day, we're here for people.

My whole point is this: It's not that simple, I mean this this is only our point of view, maybe you are right maybe I am right, but any case the reallity is very vast, there are so many things and many people who these days they are ignorant.. put very much emphasis on little things, but anyway..

"If the milky way were the size of the united states, our whole solar system would be a sphere two inches across and the sun itself would be the size of period at the end of a sentence. The nearest star system would be a football fields distance away, and all other stars are roughly the same distance from one another; and the milky way is just one out of a billion galaxies in the observable universe. When you compare the shear size of the universe, human life not only looks tiny, but as significant as the bacteria that you kill without thought every time you brush your teeth." - A theist who still argues in defense of the existence of god

I agree. People just use the size of the universe to justify their nihilism.

The point you're missing is that those "little things" have value to someone. A life is never insignificant just because of where it is housed. We exist in this universe and are thus a part of its vast whole.

No matter how small we may play our part in it. We exist as a myriad of impossibilities made possible by the vastness of this Universe. We matter the universe matters that lifeform across the galaxy that we may never come in contact with matters. Those particles, and rocks, and moons, and planets, and debris etc, it's all part of the tapestry stiching together the universe.

So many on this site so ready to adopt the "nothing matters and everything is meaningless " mentalities is disheartening. :shy:

God is just a ”word” a human concept.
And the size of the universe is just a way to show people how insane is the God concept.

Yet it proves that someone created them which is supreme than anyone. It also depicts that we are nothing more than an ant in front of God. I guess this video increases my faith as this whole universe is not came into being by its own.
